Arthur felt his body being shaken, causing him to wake up. As he opened his eyes, light from the sun entered them. He covered his face and heard a familiar voice beside him.
"You're finally up. I hope you got a good rest," said Emilia.
"It was great," said Arthur as he was getting out of the car.
Arthur stretched his body and looked at his surroundings. The car was parked beside a sidewalk, with a house in front of them. Unlike in the city that Arthur was used to, there were many trees lined up beside houses. Lucas walked to Arthur while he was looking around.
"The people that live here are friends that we've kept in touch with. I wanted to ask if you don't mind being introduced?" asked Lucas.
"I think I'll stay next to the car," said Arthur.
Lucas nodded to Arthur and then turned to Emilia. "I'll get Chloe while you watch Arthur," said Lucas while wearing a troubled expression.
"Good luck, she is going to be pretty upset," said Layla as a bright smile formed on her face.
Lucas Laughed and started to walk to the house. The house was larger than the house that Arthur used to live in. Which made him think of where he could be living with his original home gone. Memories started to appear in Arthur's head, reminding him of the times that he spent in the house with his parents. He pushed the memories to the back of his head and turned to Emilia.
"Is your house this big?" asked Arthur.
"No, Celine's house is bigger than ours, but I think you may like it," said Emilia.
Emilia pulled out her phone and started to show Arthur pictures. Emilia showed Arthur family pictures in front and inside the house. Arthur could see the excitement in her eyes as she was showing pictures to him. While Arthur was looking at the pictures with Emilia, he heard the sound of laughter in the distance.
Lucas was holding the hand of a little girl as she skipped across the sidewalk. Once they reached Arthur and Emilia, the girl hid behind Lucas's leg.
Lucas wore a troubled expression as he turned to Arthur. "Chloe gets nervous around new people, but I promise it should get better," said Lucas.
Emilia bent down to Chloe and held her hand. "This is your cousin that we talked about. He would like it if you introduced yourself to him," said Emilia.
Chloe nodded and stepped in front of Lucas with Emilia's help. She let go of Emilia's hand and started to fiddle with her fingers as she looked at Arthur.
"Hi, my name is Chloe," said Chloe.
Arthur couldn't help but wear a light smile after seeing her attempt. He could only describe her as cute as he was watching her introduce herself.
"Hi Chloe, I'm Arthur. I'll be in your care," said Arthur.
Chloe looked up to Arthur while brushing away her black hair. She gave a nervous smile and walked back to Emilia. Emilia picked her up and started to put her in the car.
"As time goes on, she should warm up to you," said Lucas as he walked towards Arthur.
"It's okay. I'll have something to work towards," said Arthur.
Lucas had a satisfied expression as he looked at Arthur. "Well, we will be going to our house now. We should have an empty room for you to use, but you may need to clear some stuff out first," explained Lucas.
"I expected something like that," said Arthur.
"Great, now let's get going," said Lucas.
Arthur got into the back of the car, he saw Chloe beside him. She was swinging her feet while playing with a stuffed animal. While the car was moving, Arthur couldn't shake the feeling of guilt. He felt thankful that he had his aunt and uncle but felt like he doesn't deserve them. Trying to shake away the feeling creeping on him, he looked out the window to appreciate the view.
Arthur thought that he was in a residential section of the town. Many houses were ranging from small to large as they traveled down the residential area. After leaving the houses, Arthur saw many different types of buildings in the center of the city. There were many stores along with malls and buildings owned by different businesses. People were moving through the streets, which seemed much different than what he experienced near the hospital.

While Arthur was admiring the view, he heard Chloe make noises beside him.
Chloe started to point to a store on the side of the street. "Mommy, are we going to go to the store today?" asked Chloe.
Emilia looked back and smiled at Chloe. "Sorry, Chloe, but we can't open the store today. Maybe next week we'll be able to open it," said Emilia.
"Do you own that store?" asked Arthur.
"Yep, me and your uncle co-owns the bakery. We closed temporarily, so we could pick you up," said Emilia.
"What's it called?" asked Arthur.
"We called it Emilia's bakery since I came up with most of the recipes," said Emilia while looking at Arthur.
Lucas sighed while driving. "I let her come up with the name. It's always going to be something that I regret," said Lucas.
Emilia gave Lucas a sharp gaze. He cleared his throat and quickly spoke again. "I mean, It's a great name. It's a good thing I let you choose the name," said Lucas.
Emilia wore a large grin after hearing Lucas. Arthur heard laughing beside him, Chloe was clapping her hands while kicking her feet in the booster seat.
"Daddy's funny," said Chloe.
Similar scenes happened in the car as they went to the house, Arthur could tell that he may have a great family. After leaving the center of the town, they quickly approached the house. Arthur thought that the neighborhood seemed similar to the other one that he arrived at. Unlike his old home, there was much more space between the houses. Arthur saw that his uncle's house had two floors. He felt like it wasn't limited by the number of floors because it was very wide, Arthur thought that each room must have a lot of space.
After getting out of the car, Lucas walked him to the front of the house. Two potted plants were hanging along the entrance, with a carpet in front of the door. Arthur went inside with Lucas, and Emilia came holding Chloe a little bit after. Arthur took off his shoes on the front carpet and started to walk around the house.
"The floor seems to be made from wood, along with the stairs," thought Arthur.
Lucas called Arthur while he was looking around.
Arthur was guided by Lucas to the second floor and his future room. Arthur was surprised as he entered the room, he found out that there were multiple toys on the floor. Containers with different colors were stacked on the corner of the room.
"The only spare room we have right now is the one that Chloe uses to play in," said Lucas.
Arthur couldn't help but laugh, seeing the bright pink room compared to the blue and white style of the house.
"I guess we're going to have to move everything," said Arthur.
"Yep, there should be a portable mattress in the basement. We're going to have to move some things to have this be set up," said Lucas.
Together with Lucas, Arthur started to clean up the room. After spending some time cleaning up the room, Arthur helped Lucas bring up the mattress from the basement. During the cleanup, he saw Chloe run in and out of the room, picking up toys and bringing them away. She would always take quick glimpses at Arthur before turning away. While they were about to finish packing everything away, Lucas called Arthur.
"Emilia should have prepared Lunch for us. She's created most of the recipes from our bakery. My favorite is her red-violet cake, Chloe always gets excited when she makes it," said Lucas.
Arthur started to feel excited hearing about her cooking. "I wonder what she will do for us then?" said Arthur.
Lucas replied with a slight smile. "I'm not sure, but it should be great," said Lucas.
Lucas started to scratch the back of his head as he began to look around the room. “You know Arthur, I…” said Lucas, as his voice started to trail off.
Arthur was confused listening to Lucas, he usually said what's on his mind.
Lucas did a sigh before turning to Arthur. "Never mind. There is still something that I have to get in the basement. You can go to Emilia for lunch," said Lucas.
"Ok, thanks for the help uncle," said Arthur.
Lucas lightly waved his hand to Arthur. "You're welcome Arthur, even do I owe you much more," said Lucas before leaving the room.
Arthur left the room feeling confused as he walked to the kitchen. As he got closer to the kitchen, a familiar smell appeared. It reminds him of the pizza that his mother used to make for him on the weekends. He started to walk towards the kitchen a little faster as the smell got stronger.
What welcomed Arthur was a large pizza on the counter. It had tomatoes and chicken as its toppings, warm memories started to form in his head as he looked at the pizza. On the weekends, his mother would prepare pizza for dinner. It had a specific taste that he didn’t find on any other pizzas, making it special to him. Arthur slowly took a slice from the pizza and took a bite.
“It’s delicious, just like it always has been,” said Arthur.
While Arthur was enjoying his pizza, he heard a voice approach him. Arthur turned to the source of the noise. And found Emilia walking from the living room.
“I’m glad that you like it. I was a little afraid that I wouldn’t be able to replicate the taste,” said Emilia.
“How do you know how to make it?” asked Arthur while grabbing a plate.
Emilia wore a sad expression as she found a seat. “Your mother taught me the recipe. I knew that it would be something that you would enjoy,” said Emilia.
“Thank you, auntie,” said Arthur with a bright smile.
After speaking, Arthur heard small footsteps approaching the door. “Mommy can we keep watching the show now?” asked Chloe as she ran into the kitchen and went to Emilia.
“I’ll be coming back Chloe, I just wanted to say something to Arthur,” said Emilia.
Chloe then turned to Arthur and started to play with her hair. “The pizza was really tasty,” said Chloe before running back to the living room.
Arthur did a small chuckle after seeing Chloe’s actions. Emilia also did a small laugh before turning back towards Arthur.
“I just wanted to say that we are here for you. Lucas can be pretty bad with words, but I know that he is trying to make it up with you. Please give him a chance,” said Emilia.
“Ok, and thanks again auntie,” said Arthur.
Emilia got up from her seat and started to leave the room. “No problem,” said Emilia while doing a slight wave before entering the living room.
Arthur enjoyed his pizza and started to think that living here would be better than he thought. The rest of the day, Arthur sorted the things in his room. While also spending time going around the house and outside. Once it approached nighttime, Arthur went to his room after saying goodnight to Emilia and Lucas. Arthur got onto his mattress and covered himself with the blankets that he was given. Arthur could only think of how he wished his parents were beside him, he quickly fell asleep after.
Arthur opened his eyes to something that he never wanted to return to. There was only darkness around him. Arthur tried to look for some source of light but failed to find anything. The same lonely feeling that he felt in the past slowly started to creep on him, the farther he pushed it back, the stronger the feeling became.
“This is just a dream, I should wake up eventually,” said Arthur repeatedly.
While Arthur was lost in his thoughts, a light appeared in the distance. Feeling desperate, Arthur desperately ran to the source of light. A small crack appeared in the darkness but got larger as Arthur approached it. After reaching it, a bright white light started to shine. Arthur covered his eyes.
“What happened?” said Arthur.
Arthur opened his eyes to a burning city. Based on the buildings and the intensity of the fire, Arthur knew he was back in New York City. Scared and confused, the only thing on his mind was to run.
“I have to get out of here! Please wake up, Please wake up,” said Arthur as he was running.
The fires burned brighter as Arthur went deeper into the city.
