Chapter 5
A loud gasping was heard as five bodies inhaled air at the same time. The fromer cold bodies were now slowly moving as the eyes of the five brothers opened their eyes in their new bodies. Dragon looked around. He saw the same alley, still filled with dirty snow and garbage. He looked to his left and inhaled sharply. There were lying his brothers, but contrary to his expectations they didn’t look like the young boys before they entered their dead bodies. The long blond hair turned black, the rosy skin, which was almost blue before, because of the cold, was now pale. The most shocking thing were the eyes. Instead of the ice-blue ones, those bodies had before, the eyes now were pitch black with a mysterious colour closely around the pupil. Dragon looked at his own body and saw the same skin tone, he swiped his long hair before his eyes and realized that that too, was black. He turned around to his brothers again.
“Brothers…?” he asked with a wary voice. “Are you okay?” he watched them worried. They had never done something like this before, fusing their souls with the body of someone else. Yes it worked on him, but was there a possibility of them having the same luck?
“…Alright bro…” the boy with the scars said, revealing his identity as Tiger.
“Me too” said the other three and relief shone in their eyes. What they had done today, not one of them would’ve thought that it was possible. And no one had an explanation for the mysterious things they encounterd. What was the area of endless darkness? Why were the souls of humans chained to a body? How could the universe be this overwhelmingly big? And the most important one: Where were they?
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Dragon slowly stood up, trying to take another look around. There was nothing particularly interesting in this alley, except for a few rats. He slowly walked to the end of the alley, which was connected to a bigger street. Countless poorly dressed and weak human figures walked along the street, none of them looking up. Their eyes were dead. ‘What is going on in this city?’ he thought and walked back to his brothers.
“Brothers I think we should separate and search for information regarding this world and this city. As we fell down I could see that this city is shaped in a hexagon, with presumably six districts. I think each of us should go into one of the districts and try to find information. There are a few questions, which we have to know the answer for. The first is: Who rules over this city? The second is: Which age are we in? And thirdly: What is going on with the people here?”
“What do you mean by your last question?” Turtle asked and the other brothers also looked confused.
“I don’t know it’s just…when I took a look at the street just now, the people were walking around like zombies. Dead eyes, slow movements and all of them had torn clothes. They were also really thin and weak. I have a strange feeling about this.” Dragon said with a worried tone.
“Alright we got you bro…I will search in this district, you others should pick another one.” Turtle said and started to walk towards the end of the alley.
“Wait, another thing!” Dragon shouted. “Try to grab some clothes for yourselves. It is obviously winter and our clothes are only a little better than rags. We should try to find something warmer.”
“Good point Dragon…we’ll look out for it.” Snake said, while he also walked towards the street.
“Good then lets go! We meet each other in this alley again in an hour! Be careful!” Dragon said and watched his brothers exit the alley, separate and walked into different directions.
‘I guess I should get going too huh?’ he thought and made his way towards the street.
