Caleb *sighs* and then talks to himself, "royal road costs so much. Is it really worth it? all my friends have quit all other rpgs and have gone exclusively to it. But with just the module alone I'll have to max out my credit card. Working at the local Walmart just doesn't pay enough. hmm.. expenses, expenses. lets see.... I can afford the monthly fee if I cut down on the food, buying the cheap less nutritious food, make all my food so I'm not going out to eat, only drive to and from work.... hmm.. that means not going anywhere besides work because its a 15 min drive anywhere. Got to hate living rural America. nothing to do, and everything is so far away. At least I have the place to myself, and its a studio apartment so its cheaper. guess I'll have to leave the AC off as well. but... its doable... hmm... is it worth it. well its suppose to have a robust network anywhere in the world. so no lag. gah I hate lag. living in the country sucks. well if there's no lag it'll probably be worth it."
Going to the computer and getting out his credit card, Caleb logs on, to purchase a module for royal road. While waiting with baited anticipation caleb does research online trying to decide on what class to be. "hmm. I've always liked support spellcasters. Mostly buffs and debuffs with dots." After doing some research in between work and sleep Caleb decides he wants to play a shaman.
When the crew with the module arrives Caleb has them set it up in his only room. The room is so tiny they have to dismantle the futon and move it out of the way. Caleb thanks the crew for set up the module and walks back into the room.
"wow" Caleb thinks, "takes up almost the entire room, had to even move the futon out of the way. Now where will I sleep? I wonder how comfortable the module would be to sleep in. Hmm... speaking of which, I wonder if I can stay logged in asleep or even if I can play it asleep. Something to check into."
Caleb climbs into the module with excitement.

"Of course I want to connect, why do you think I got in here," Caleb comments.
"Unknown command," replies a female voice.

Caleb sigh, "yes."
-The scan on your iris and vein has determined that you are an unregistered user. Do you want to create a new account?
"Yes"
-- Select the name of your avatar.
"Zander"
--Select your gender from male, female, or neutral.
Now Caleb does enjoy playing female characters but because this is suppose to be lifelike, kind of like a new body, he thinks it would be weird. "Male"
-- Royal Road has forty-nine races. You may select your face from the primary twenty-nine.
"Hmm... Let's see now," Caleb mutters.
--Human selected.
A human male with Caleb's looks appears before him. 5'10" 26 ish looking, dark brown hair, shorter on the sides, the top slightly wavy from trying to curl but being to short to, white skin, blue/green eyes with flecks of brown and gold in them, a long distance runners build (lanky but toned).
--Would you like to make changes to your appearance?
"No Wait! go back, go back, go back. I want to be something else!"
--Appearance accepted. Please choose a starting location.
"Go back! Back I say. Goooooo baaaaaaack."
--Starting location Gorbeck chosen.
"Arg!" Screams caleb in frustration.
--Would you like to take the tutorial?
"No you stupid flipping thing, I want to change races!"
--Tutorial skipped, Welcome to Royal Road.
"Crap!" Now Caleb always likes to rush through tutorials whenever he starts a new game. He hurries through them because it's boring and he can find out how to move his character easily from playing other games. But he still goes through them to learn the differences in the new game, and often times you get a couple starting items you don't receive otherwise.
And with a flash of light Caleb enters his new world.
