"Woah, this is so cool!" Caleb says as he examines himself, looking at his clothes and body, patting them down. "It's so real."
As he looks around Caleb notices that this city is different from all the other pictures of royal road he's seen. All the houses he can see are log and mud, with thatch roofs. The town also seems much smaller, more like a village then a city. The wall is made up of logs stick in the ground vertically. That's when he notices everyone around him is taller then him, with bulging muscles, and red hair. Many of the men sport beards. They're also wearing skimpy leather armor, loincloth, or furs. Everyone carries a weapon of some sort, even the shopkeepers. Usually the people carry clubs, stone knives, or stone spears. Although a flash of reflected light shows that there are a few metal pieces floating around. "Wow," Caleb thinks, "just what I'd imagine a barbarian village to look like. Wait... Barbarian village? I want to be a magic user! How am I suppose to learn magic in a barbarian village?!?"
"Well. Better get this show on the road." He thinks out loud. Not knowing where to go he starts wondering around, to explore and get a feel for the new city. Passing by an old hunched over man Caleb hears, "Hey young whipper snapper." Turning Caleb looks at the man. He's about Caleb's height because he is hunched over, leaning on a walking stick. Liver spots adorn his face. His thinning red hair waves in the wind.
"Care to help an old man who hurt his back. I need all these bundles of thatch taken up to the roof so it can be repaired," the old man tells Caleb. Caleb raised to lend a helping hand to those in need agreed readily.

"I didn't know I could get stats through work. Maybe I should have done more research then just checking out what class I wanted to be," Caleb tells himself.

Learned the skill singing
Singing helps the user to sing while doing other work. This allows the user to not run out of breath from singing, and does not affect the stamina bar for singing.
Higher levels will allow the user to learn songs that give bonus effects to the party.
"huh. I really should have done more research. But it nice to get a skill."
After several hours of work, Caleb completes his quest.

Caleb frowns, not much in the way of rewards. The old man gives Caleb a smile missing half his teeth, "thanks for the help." He spryly maneuvers up the the ladder and disappears from view. "Hey! what about your hurt back?" Caleb calls up after him. The old man's head pops into view and he grins, "Oh its fine. You just looked like you could use a view muscles," he says before disappearing from view again.
Frowning caleb continues to explore the town. In the center of town he notes a flat dirt spot where scarecrow dummies are places, with people practicing different forms of combat. There are also people sparing, and rolling around on the ground. One of the watchers approaches Caleb, moving with a fluid grace. "Interested in learning?" the newcomer asks.
"No thanks. Physical activity isn't my strong suit."
Frowning the man says, "Its a dangerous world out there I suggest you learn how to defend yourself."
"No, really. I'll make it by ok without learning the sword, or throwing people around."
He glares at caleb before replying coldly, "Suit yourself." Then turns around to bellow "Put a little more force behind that blow Oscar! He's not a baby, he can take a hit!"
Noticing a sign off to the side Caleb goes to investigate. "Nice, a map. now where to go." Searching the map Caleb decides to visit the Herbalist. Maybe they would know something that would help him learn magic.
