Chapter 28: The Ferocity of the Beast Slave

Who was behind the attack?

As Russell faced the brutal men before him, countless possibilities raced through his mind. Was it Huo Datong? Or Chen Jincheng? Or was it simply fallout from his recent winning streak?

Yet, he didn’t have much time to ponder, as the muscular bald man in front of him pointed in his direction, barking an order: "Make it quick, take out the big guy first."

Clearly, the bald leader was wary of Kaiser, the powerful presence beside Russell. As soon as he spoke, his nine heavily tattooed henchmen, brandishing blades and pipes, charged like a pack of wolves.

It’s often said that even the greatest martial arts can’t stand against a blade!

Especially when there are nine robust and ferocious fighters. Realizing this, Russell quickly deduced that the mastermind behind these men was no mere Huo Datong; he simply didn't have the clout to command such a fierce crew.

Each attacker was at least six feet tall and the kind who could flatten multiple street thugs.

Unfortunately for them, they faced Kaiser, an extraordinary beast slave from another realm. In simple terms: "inhuman." Kaiser exceeded the capabilities of a typical earthly being.

The first assailant to rush in wielded a solid steel pipe over a meter long, a weapon several times heavier than a typical street thug's steel bat. With his massive muscles, he seemed capable of seriously injuring even a large buffalo with one swing.

Seeing the threat, Kaiser's eyes reddened, and he roared like a tiger in the forest, unleashing his mighty aura!

This roar momentarily froze the advancing attackers. In the next instant, the man with the steel pipe found his chest caved in by a collision with the bear-like bodyguard.

The crash was akin to being hit by a speeding small car; against this terrifying force, the steel pipe and muscles were frail.

Kaiser's charge was more powerful than a 300-kilogram bear's assault. The man with the pipe was propelled backward like a projectile, knocking down several companions in his path.

The explosive strength of eighteen points was terrifying, seemingly only twice that of an average human, but unleashed through a robust physique, it spelled doom for opponents.

With a single bear-like charge, four of the nine assailants were down. Blacking out from the impact, they lay gasping, unable to muster the strength to rise, suffering excruciating pain with each breath. They hadn’t even engaged in a proper fight yet.

It all happened in a flash. The second man, wielding a machete, was stunned but quickly steeled himself as Kaiser approached.

Despite his own impressive build, he was no match for the Western bear before him.

"I’m gonna kill you!" he growled, swinging his machete at Kaiser with all the force he could muster, fear pushed to the back of his mind.

The strike, motivated by terror and desperation, landed on Kaiser's head with a resounding clang that reverberated around them like metal striking metal. This left the man with his hand vibrating painfully.

His moment of bravado faded away, replaced by sheer terror. He had never imagined such a terrifying opponent. No, this wasn't human.

"Heh," Kaiser grinned cruelly. Normally reserved and silent, in combat, he was like a bloodthirsty tiger unleashed.

The King Kong Beast Slave was a naturally warlike and ruthless species, which was why they evolved with hardened skin as a natural trait.

The heavy blow against Kaiser’s hardened skin left only a faint white mark on his forehead. Kaiser, with a chilling glare, gripped the attacker’s wrist and twisted it sharply. Snap!

The wrist snapped as easily and casually as breaking a matchstick. The machete clattered to the ground, but the encounter didn’t end there. An ominous shadow loomed overhead as a massive fist descended, slamming onto the man’s skull.

The bear-like strike halted the advance of the other attackers. Their once-fearless comrade collapsed like a rag doll, eyes rolling back, neck grotesquely distorted.

There was a collective hiss—a stark reminder of the carnage.

In just one exchange, two of the nine ferocious men lay in critical condition, while another three had yet to regain their feet.

The eerie silence that followed the brutal altercation was deafening. Even Russell stood transfixed. Kaiser's ferocious power, bringing two down in mere seconds, was a horrific revelation.

Kaiser’s ferocity, coupled with his raw power, was clear evidence of the dramatic shift in Russell’s life since acquiring the super pet system. He was no longer the same reclusive loser.

If not for Russell's intervention, the tranquil tree-lined path would have harbored more than two bodies.

"Chen Jincheng?" Russell shivered, a cold dread settling in. Had Kaiser not been formidable, he might not have escaped unscathed from this attack.
