CHAPTER 988 TAKE ME WITH YOU
Chapter 988 Take Me With You
Selena left the Riddle's with Hattie and returned to the small villa. Leia took Hattie back to her room
and on her way downstairs, she saw Selena standing on the steps, looking in the direction of Capital
University. Her slender figure exuded a sense of coldness.
Leia walked up to her from behind. "Madam Selena."
Selena took a step forward. "Let's go."
Leia drove and took Selena to Capital University. Callum's laboratory, which he left behind, had been in
a state of closure since Selena left Capital. Only internal personnel involved in research were allowed
near the lab.
Selena changed into a lab coat and went through a series of identity verifications before entering the
lab. Unlike what she imagined to be bustling and busy, there was no one in the lab.
Selena walked towards the right-hand wall, and just as she lifted her hand, a transparent elevator door
suddenly appeared in front of her. Hamish walked out of it holding some documents and was stunned
to see Selena. "Lady Selena, you're back."
Selena's gaze fell on his face. Although she couldn't hide her fatigue, her spirit was still full. Selena
smiled. "How is the situation?"
Hamish placed the documents on the table, opened the door, and waited for Selena to enter before
following her. He pressed the elevator button, and the transparent electronic door began to descend
rapidly.
"Joanna seems to be in a good mood," Hamish whispered. "And President Bai and Mr. Black Crow
haven't left the lab since they received the documents."
With a "ding," the elevator stopped. Selena stepped out.
This was a vast and brand-new laboratory. The space was several times larger than the one on the
ground, and all the equipment and devices were the most advanced in the world.
Selena discovered this place on the third day after she found Callum's laboratory. Of course, the
equipment was another story, as the technological gap between 20 years ago and now was still
significant. This batch of equipment was sponsored by Osvaldo before Patrick even knew about it.
Turning down an empty corridor, Selena saw the person she was looking for outside a huge laboratory.
Through the transparent glass, a crow crouched on the ground, completely absorbed in staring at a test
tube in its hand. The crow's hands were long and white, with small blood stains all over, and its hair
was messy, as if it hadn't slept in days.
Although Julian didn't look as sloppy as his younger brother, his lab coat was stained all over as he
conducted experiments at the lab bench.
Joanna had tied all of her hair back, her face devoid of any coquettishness or allure, her eyes showing
the seriousness and focus unique to medical professionals.
The three of them were completely engrossed in their work, not noticing their arrival.
"It seems that Dean and Mr. Crow have done a lot of research on the data left by Mr. Turner, and with
Joanna's expertise, the three of them are making rapid progress."
"I believe it won't be long before the vaccine for the underground city virus is available!"
Selena smiled and turned to Hamish, "Let's go, Hamish, we'll go help."
Hamish hesitated at Selena's words, but a faint smile appeared on his handsome face. "Okay."
Selena had been holed up in the lab for three days. It wasn't until the research institute called the
Turner family to inform them that the Union University competition was about to begin that Osvaldo This content © 2024 .
personally came to the lab to retrieve her.
After being taken back to the villa, Selena was pinned down by Osvaldo on the bed and slept soundly,
finally regaining her energy.
In the room, Selena changed her clothes and walked out of the bathroom to see Osvaldo standing in
front of the bed.
When the man heard her voice, he turned to look at her. His deep black eyes suddenly lit up when he
saw the girl in a green combat suit walking towards him with a lazy smile.
Unlike her moody and irritable state when she was taken from the lab the night before, Selena was
obviously in a very good mood now.
She walked up to Osvaldo, raised her hand to wrap around his slender neck, and asked with a smile,
"Do I look good?"
Osvaldo reached out and took the hat from the table, gently putting it on her head. He looked at the
young girl, whose face and temperament were completely transformed, and whispered, "Very
beautiful."
This girl could no longer be described simply as beautiful. She was dazzling, beyond anyone's reach!
Selena's eyes curved into a confident smile. "I think I look best like this!"
After Osvaldo helped her fasten her belt, he held Selena's hand and led her out the door. Meanwhile,
downstairs was in chaos. Everyone was worried about Selena, who was heading to a dangerous and
desolate place.
Anyway, Selena is going on a trip, not really participating in a high-risk competition. She doesn't need
to suffer like everyone else.
The butler and the servants have been busy since the morning, preparing food, water, clothes, shoes,
and even a tent in case she can't sleep outside.
So when Selena went downstairs, she saw the luggage at the door.
Selena paused. Does she really look like she's going on a vacation? And why does the Empire's first
commander appear so fragile in the eyes of others?
Hattie was the first to notice Selena's arrival. When she saw Selena's combat uniform, a hint of surprise
flashed in the little girl's eyes, and she ran over to hug Selena's waist. "Selena, I checked the luggage.
We have everything we need. Now it's just me. Take me with you!"
Selena tried to restore her dignity as a commander, saying firmly, "No, we can't bring any of these
things!"
"How is that possible?" The old butler was the first to worry. "I asked Mr. Turner, and he said the place
you're going next is a deserted island with nothing. It's hot and exposed, and you won't be able to
withstand it. How can your body handle it?"
Selena paused.
Hattie ignored Osvaldo's threatening eyes and hugged Selena's waist, looking up at her with a cold,
determined face. "Selena, you just got poisoned. The doctor said you need to rest properly. Whether
you bring it or not, Diana and her gang won't give up their snarky comments. Why not let yourself have
a better time and show them who's boss?"
Selena had no argument against this reason.
It turns out that the little girl did her homework in advance.
Selena looked at Hattie's serious big eyes, sighed and bent down to touch her hair. "Trust me, I won't
let myself suffer."
Hattie blinked. "Then, Selena, take me with you. That hypocritical woman Diana must have brought
many followers with her..."
