CHAPTER 20- ONE MATE, TWO MATES AND THREE!

I decide on a red strapless dress, with red strap heels and red lipstick. The dress was body hugging in the right way and I figure that's the kind of motivation Aiden needs to finish what he started.

I tie my hair up in to a very tight ponytail. I don't have Josey to do my make up but I apply some mascara and that should do. I can't wait to put this lip color all over Aiden soon, I giggle to myself.

Once ready, I walk out of my closet to find Aiden looking out the window.

"I'm ready." I say, gaining his attention. Aiden walks up to me in his black dress pants and white collared shirt paired with a black bowtie. His black polished shoes and messy hair, smiling from ear to ear until he gets to me.

"You look absolutely gorgeous." He says to me before kissing my cheek.

He grabs both of my hands and we make our way back to the big party.

Even though I'd hoped for a better reaction, that one will do for now until my brain can't accept it anymore and he needs to do better. For a one true mate, he hides his emotions really well.

It was like we never left, Josey was still downing champagne one flute after another. Hunter was seated looking out of place because that face was sour but mother was in her jolly mood. She's good at that, forgetting the mess that's threatening to spill and enjoying the moment, which I believe I lack. I wish sometimes I could sit back and enjoy life but I'm not my mother.

Our king was dancing with his mate, something that I've been dying to see. No, not my brother dancing but just him letting loose, enjoying life because he worked so damn hard to make it here...

Okay, even though Aiden could've ended him within seconds, he didn't. Besides, Aiden wouldn't have come to earth if it wasn't for me so my brother deserves this, the crown had his name written all over it.

Before Aiden arrived....

Maximus was having a chat with my twin brother and I do not want to disturb that because if I know my brother, he is spewing utter nonsense.

Then there was Xander.

Xander being Xander..

He was playing with my son, whom I thought was with my dear old mother but this, all the memories come flooding back to me at once. I feel a warmth radiating through me, enveloping me in it.

Home.

Security.

Those are the feelings I feel when I was with Xander but the one thing missing was love. I can't feel the love because of the mark on my neck.

Preventing me from digging through my feelings for the man I am currently looking at as he makes my son laugh. They looked so happy but I feel guilty.

Guilty for coming here, coming back here and walking hand in hand with Aiden, who is my true mate but I just...

I just have way too many mates in one room.

"I can agree with you there.. " Aiden blurts out and I quickly close my thoughts from him, forgetting that he could read mine and I couldn't read his, yet.

"I need to mark you." I say smiling up at him, the love that once belonged to Xander, that I willingly gave to Xander, speeding all to fast towards Aiden.

The mark.

This mark was in the driver's seat and I had no control whatsoever about how I was feeling. Yes, I decided not to fight it but wow, this was all moving too fast and if I drink enough alcohol today, I'll probably profess my love for him.

"Calm down, you'll get that chance but I want it to be special. You will be my first and only, I want it to be engraved, etched in my head." Aiden says to me and I don't respond.

Well, because what do you say to that? Oh yeah, nothing. That's just too sweet.

"And believe me when I say that I'm fighting myself from ripping that dress off of you and taking you." He says before walking ahead and grabbing the attention of everyone in the room.

Time moves slowly as they all turn their heads to look at us. I'm standing here, clenching my thighs together to get it together but this mark.

"Oh great! You guys came back!" Josey shouts out as she runs to us and hugs Aiden and I.

I watch my mother's mouth drop, my father Hunter nod approvingly and everyone else staring, frozen.

"Mmmm he marked you. About damn time Aiden! Not such a sweet guy huh? Sab, you didn't mention how wolfy he can get. Grrr!" She says before her twin mates come to the rescue.

"Argh can't seem to get rid of these two." She says before walking away, the twins following right behind her.

We walk over to the table as they all take their seats, taking me back to the tedious breakfast we had at Aiden's house. Aiden and I both sit down after I take Adrastos from Xander, who reluctantly gave him him to me after his mate told him to.

"Well? How did this happen?" My mother asks, winking at me.

"I did what any male wolf would do." Aiden answers, confidently might I add.

"That's right, about time really." Hunter responds and we stay quiet for some time, just letting that marinate slowly... until Josey...

"So, any babies on the way?" She asks and I chuckle, Aiden groans and I hear a few growls in the room. I sneak a glance at Xander, then Max.

"No Jose." I say, trying to drop the subject.

"Congratulations are in order then, our moon goddess finally respecting the order of things." Luka says walking in to the room holding a glass of wine.

We all turn to look at him, I could feel Aiden's annoyance building up inside him.

"Oh sorry. Where are my manners? Hello, I believe we are all family now. My name is Luka and I am Aiden's little brother." Luka says.

"Really? Well, you're lacking in the looks department, I would have never guessed it." Josey blurts out, gaining a smile from Aiden.

"Josey, be nice!" My mother tries to scold.

"By the way you walked in here, you are definitely your father's son and I will need you to walk back the way you came in. This is a family celebration and you are not welcome here." Hunter says.

There's that drama I'm so used to by now. It was obvious my union with Aiden was never going to be easy, when has it ever been easy for me?

"What did I miss?" My grandfather walks in- just in time.
