Epilogue
Captain Ryan
It had been a long time since I had been back to battle school and with the commander dead and the war cancelled, we were free to come back. But with the threat of a war no longer present I didn’t see much purpose of the place I loved still existing. I walked into the armoury and I noticed three very important people missing. Benton, Emily, John and Daniel were all missing, during the time away from school I hadn’t been paying attention to what the other students were doing outside of the people my age, the only thing I heard was that John was a national terrorist but other than that I didn’t know. “Does anyone know where a lot of our guys are?” at that moment Benton himself walked in but he didn’t look the consistently happy young lad that I once knew, he looked… broken, destroyed “Ahh Benton, good to see you, do you know where everyone else is?” Benton looked at me blankly and with no emotion, he then handed me a sheet of paper along with the devastating line of “There dead, the commander got them killed.” He then walked out “Benton?” I called out with no response, I then looked down at the sheet of paper, it was a letter of resignation to inform me he was leaving. I chased him down the hallway and caught up with him “Benton, what the hell happened whilst we weren’t here?” Benton stopped to address me “After the commander killed Emily here, me, John, Daniel and Jack set out to destroy his army and stop a war, they all died going after him, along with Jade.” I sighed in shame “That sucks, so you have had enough I presume then?” I saw Benton crack a small smile “I knew you would understand.” I then grabbed Benton on the shoulder and smiled “Good luck Benton, make sure you get the rest of your life that you deserve.” Benton smiled back and nodded before leaving with a pat on my shoulder walking away from the very place he dreamed to be…

Benton
I sat in a chair of a radio recording room with a mic in front of me and free speech to call out the past I was going to set the record straight so people would stop protesting against the new government. “Today marks a new beginning, a day of peace, celebration, and love. We have this day today due to a few key people who stepped up to stop a brutal war, right now a lot of you don’t understand the concept of peace the ‘Enemy’ but they are not the enemy, after living in both places and fighting under the team of both to achieve the peace we have now I can safely say that were both the same, we both just live differently, the government since I was born only being 15 bred it into me that the other side of the world was evil but they made up lies as to why, both of the old governments on both sides were ruthless and evil. But now we have to logical peace makers in charge and we now have the choice to turn over a new chapter in history. So today…. Today we accept differences and finally live in peace, we don’t have to change either of the ways each other live, we just have to have the base level respect for each other, that’s what me and my friends fought for, that’s what they died for, anyone who disrespects that disrespects the very people who stopped most of you from dying, so grow up and lay down your differences. My name is Benton Leaney, signing off.”
4 Years later
I looked out the window of the top floor of the battle school, the view was unbelievable, every afternoon I looked out an honoured the Five people who put themselves on the line so I could live and serve everyone else. “You were right John.” I muttered to myself, years had passed and not a single threat had come from either sides of the world, the place was in utter peace just like John predicted, he should have been here to seen this. It was the one thought that kept running through my head, everyone else including myself fought for vengeance, but John fought for that and more, he should be the one standing here not me, but that’s the past, we can’t change that, that’s why I serve the world still, for them not me. I went back to battle school after I turned 18 to be become a teacher as that was what I wanted to do with my time, teach the next generation of peacekeepers.
