Chapter 9 Preperations

Chapter 9 Preperations

Chapter 9 Preparations.

Character Pov Lyon Amiel.

Grammy was screaming and shouting at me the whole time I walked to the dream room. A room where we could watch the life-like dreams Olsis put me in.

“ You move slower than a snail sloth! You couldn't dodge a single one of its attacks!

I even told Olsis to make it not even 1/10th the strength as the one I fought, and you only won with the help of Olsis. Your adjustments were crude and you lack experience with No’beck. You cant even use the weapon's unique abilities, weapon changing and ki stealing without the help of Olsis your soul bond.” Grammy screamed.

“You don't need to go so hard on the kid. He wasn't even expecting to fight. And he that was his first real fight Freida.” Olsis said with a defending manor.

“It doesn't matter. He should be able to pick things up faster. I don't care if he's stronger than an average vanguard but if he can't beat 10% of that fodder vanguard I fought he is useless.”

Grammy is being very mean to me I tried my best. But I still lost. I have so much Improvement on everything, even though grammy has such high expectations for me.

“Lad, don't let her words affect you. You have to just try your hardest to improve.” Olsis said with concern.

As I watched myself fight the shadow construct I notice every flaw there was in my movements. I could have parried those fireballs if I infused my forearms with ki.

“Clever plan to hide behind your wave attack lad”

Olsis said that with such praise for me. I felt happy when he said that even though right after I traded an arm for a heavy blow to the head. And after I destroyed my legs I could have landed better instead of hitting the wall.

“Kid I have planned the next 8 years of your life. 4 phases. With 8 years before the Vanguard academy entrance exams, we are going to go over the fundamentals of everything.

Basic soul adjustments, swordsmanship, advanced soul adjusting, And last, your ki ability training. All of these will last 2 years. And to increase the growth all but your training your ki ability, those will be the only thing you can use in your dream fights. Now you will exercise while your awake since it doesn't work in dreams. By the time you are 12, you will at least have the strength of a sub-class professor at the Academy.” grammy said without being mean.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

“ Grammy, what are your expectations for me?”

“ You will understand that eventually boy. I'll let you choose what training you want to do first. Besides advanced soul adjusting that would be damaging to your ki center.

I want to give this some thought. From the little I know about my ki ability, I can see people's ki centers, and steal their ki. And that's about it. That sounds pretty strong in a fight though. But I’d rather be able to defend myself as that sounds like an ability to go along with my ki elemental attacks. I think I want to get better with the sword first, it will be the easiest thing to learn while I train my physical body.

“I want to learn the sword first Grammy.”

“Very well, your training with the sword will begin tonight. First, you’re going to go eat.

Soon after that, they all left the room. I was left alone. I'll eat my food while I rewatch my battle. I have no one to eat with anyways. As I walked to the lunch hall I noticed how well made the stone walls of the temple were. With the intricate stone patterns resembling swirling clouds running across the wall. But after some time I made it to the hall only to see a very large bald man handing people plates of rice and chicken. I walked over to see the plain-looking meat scooped out of a pot of boiling water. He handed the food to a very thing bald and he looked like he was infusing his ki into the chicken. The chicken suddenly poofed and it look delicious!. With golden-brown skin and perfectly seasoned, it looked like my mother's chicken. He did the same thing with the rice, He turned it from a white rice to perfectly cooked fried rice. I was amazed I wanted to eat it so bad.

“ You want some kid?” The man said with a froggy voice.

“Yes PLEASE!” I wanted to enjoy this food the second I got my hands on it.

“Alright, but I've never seen you around here. And you aren't a monk because you’re not bald. What you’re name boy?”

“Lyon, Lyon Amiel.’

“LYON AMIEL?! The Lyon Amiel, The Ice Queen's grandson?”

I'm assuming the Ice Queen is Grammy. I didn't know she was so famous.

“It’s so nice to see you. I heard you have amazing potential. Wait is that… No, I must be seeing things. It cant be, is that the sword of No’Beck?”

Kinda caught off guard the sword was always at my side and you can't possibly tell by the hilt.

“Yes,” I replied.

“ A CHILD NO OLDER THAN 5 IS THE PHYSICAL BOND TO A GRAND ARTIFACT! I knew you had potential. But to be chosen by an artifact at the age of 4. You are something else kid.

You know the artifacts don't all have a soul bond, It's just No’Beck. It's because of its unique abilities. The ki draining is why it needs a soul bond to regulate it, but the soulbond ends up dying because of it. The other ability is that it can change its shape. It's kind of sad that we have the “Weakest” Grand artifact. It's probably because to unlock the full potential of it you can't have a soul bond, but that kills everyone who tried. Enough with my rambling, here's your food, Young lord Amiel.”

“Thanks. But you don't need to call me that.” I said shyly.

I took my food and went down the hall back to the film room and I saw the door open. When I saw 2 large men watching a real fight of them fighting. The one was bald and dark-skinned with pointed ears. The other was a blue-skinned scaly-looking man. Both were at least 6’7 or more.

“Who are you?”- the dark skin man said.

“My name is Lyon Amiel”

“It's boy wonder that Olsis never shuts up about.” The scaly man said.

“ We both think you are not worthy of No’Beck. Hand it over!

“If you want to fight me... Go ahead. I won't be as easy as you guys think...
