chapter 5: intro to the world and training

today I woke up and started following the training schedule, this schedule was made by the system to take me, step by step into the peak dark elven possible, and that using the resources I have available to me in my surroundings.

the first thing I started doing was squats, pushups and then plank, those were the most basic exercises I needed to do for a specific rep and duration and I did them with a little difficulty, my first training session was short comparing it to my memories, but it had me beat.

I took a rest and then went out to the cavern where the onion thingy was; before I dug it out and had my meal, for now, it was the only thing I can afford to eat, hunting those rats was almost impossible for the current me, and that reminds me

'Insight'

I used insight on myself and it gave me the following feedback if I had a screen for it, but it was directly fed to my brain,

Name : unnamed dark elven teen Age : 5 years 2 months ... Power : 1 Description : a weak dark elven teen

when I used it on the rats though, it gave me a different output,

Species : Ratamole Power : 5 Description : a species of rat-mole hybrid, lives underground and uses its sensitive nose to forage for food and vibrations to navigate and move around, cowardly by nature.

the information wasn't much but it was enough for me to understand how they could detect me even while using my invisibility cloak, and also how they are so much faster than me.

the best thing that I got from insight in my opinion is the ability to scout out the strength of my opponents, it could give me a quantification of the power of my opponents, and that would help me tremendously now that I am weak and later on, for now, I am weak and can't protect myself. Compared to the Ratamole as insight pointed out, I am 5 times weaker, though I have no idea of the mechanics of the power grading.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

once I was done having my meal, I went back to look at the last thing I purchased, the book about the general knowledge of this world "intro to the world" and started reading under the faint light of the glowing moss that spreads through the whole underground.

the world I live in is called "Thibos"; named after what the people of the world consider the supreme deity of this world, the giver of life and the end of it, alongside him, there are many deities worshiped such as the nigh mother worshiped by my people, though I believe they might exist, I do not worship them for various reasons.

the world is also split into different continents, the elven continent I live in is called "Levar”; it is inhabited mainly by elves with few other races like the dwarves, the human continent "Ouranos"; this one is 95% populated by humans and the last 5% are the few other than humans but they are subjected to what my memories would call racism, the beast continent called "Bailof" is inhabited by beast-men of all kind; it is by far the most diverse continent, and finally the daemon continent "Asif" this continent contains the daemon kind, unlike demons cause they are two different species altogether, demons are not of this world but someplace called the abyss, on the other hand, daemons are native to Thibos, they are an aggressive and powerful race, and are in constant war with the other three continents.

of course, there are also other large and small islands all over the seas, of which there are 2, the one that separates all 4 main continents, it is referred to as the central ocean, a dangerous place to travel; with all matter of beasts and natural disaster, but it still pales to the other one, the endless sea; no one was able to go to the other side, otherwise, there would be stories, the place is even more dangerous and no one dares to venture too deep into it.

the book goes on many other topics but I will stop at this right now and started on my next training routine that focuses more on stretching and flexibility, I did 1 hour of that and then I started practicing martial arts.

the savage demon is a profound way, though it is only a mortal martial art, it holds many secrets to the current me, this art focuses mainly on kicks and punches, but as time went on the masters of the art were put in dangerous situations and had to develop other techniques, for palms, fingers and grappling, and throughout the years it has developed, but never went far from the core teachings

'when in combat you fight like a demon, no fear must be felt, the moment the practitioners start to fear is the last fight he will have, there is no grace or honor in the art, only savage, with strength and endurance of a demon you meet the enemy head-on, but a demon is also smart and cunning, a demon strikes when he can and retreat when he can't, but fear shall never taint his heart.'

I spent 20 minutes going through the moves of the savage demon trying to build the muscle memory needed for me to perform the moves instinctively, and by then I was very exhausted, so I took a break and ate something to replenish myself and when I rested enough, I took out the knife and started handling it to get used to it.

after that, I took another rest and meal, then did some muscle-building followed by rest then flexibility training until I could no longer move and slept right there on the spot.

the next day I woke up all sore, but I forced myself to move and went out to dig up breakfast (not tasty at all) then collected dry plants from the vicinity to act as a bed, it wasn't comfy but it protected me from the hard and cold floor, and then I went back to the grueling training
