G
I laid on the couch, chomping on grapes and strawberries. Izzy was running around, digging in the bed, and even looking in the trash can.
"Babe, have you seen my phone?" Izzy threw her hands up in defeat.
I reached over and grabbed a pink sparkling phone and held it up. "Right here."
Izzy stomped over and snatched it from me. "If you knew it was there, why didn't you say something when I was first looking?"
"How would I know what you were looking for?"
Izzy just huffed and grabbed her bag. "Me and Amanda are going out so I can start at the salon. Do you need anything?"
"No but thanks."
It wasn't too long after Izzy drove away that Riley found her way up here. I wasn't at all surprised by her but it didn't take long before she left again. The front door closed with a soft chink and her footsteps headed away from the house. The silence was soothing but it was interrupted by Scarlett's loud footsteps as she scouted the house.
It really didn't take her long to walk right in and plop down on the couch. I didn't really mind as the silence was fearsome. So I offered her my snack bowl which led to us binging a show that didn't make any sense but was set back in London when the twelve pounder and crank machine gun was popular.
"This is stupid! The man she deems her lover isn't even worth a drop. How can he have a breakdown when she needs him most?" Scarlett crushed the pillow against her chest.
"It's because he's an englishman."
"What does being weak have to do with being an brit?" She turned to me with an itching to argue.
"Have you not noticed that more than one person died that this lady knew but she isn't from England. This is just comparing brilliant Scott versus parasitic english." I sat up and put the bowl on the table.
"That is just due to circumstances and the fact that all of them are English. So of course they look a little worse for wear than the Scottish woman. Plus it's an alien invasion versus cannons and muskets."
"I'm just saying that maybe it's only the english."
I turned on the next movie and she gave me an odd look.
"What? It's not my list. I'm just watching it." I couldn't help feeling defensive.
Scarlett just made me look away like it was my fault.
"Hey, I was wondering what you are going to do now that you restore a little of society?"
The way Scarlett sat on the edge of the couch looked as if she was hiding something. Or more accurately blocking her phone.
I sat up and put my feet on the ground. I scooted closer to her and stared deep into her eyes. I put a hand on her lap and leaned in forward as my other hand searched for the phone.
Scarlett leaned back slightly but her heartbeat was a little excited.
"Do you really want to know?" My fingers didn't find the phone but it could be on the edge or the floor. Or maybe she was using some other recording device.
"I was just curious. You don't have to answer if you don't want to."
"You aren't asking for a story, right? Because that would cost you." I removed my hand from her thigh and stood up.
I caught her picking up the phone and sliding it into her pocket as she too stood up.
"I'm starting a family and waiting for the winner of this battle."
Scarlett snorted. "Do you think I would believe that? You are aiming to be a rich man. How can you settle for a normal dad?"
I looked at her and walked out the room. When she followed, I pushed her out of the way. Retreated back into the room and closed the door half way.
"Only a fool like you would want something you already have." I closed the door all the way.
I grabbed the remote and bowl, crawled into bed, and wrapped up tight. One of the biggest downsides to having great power is the even greater side effects.
My eyes had snapped closed many times throughout the day but I managed to watch a romance based on an English girl going to work in a big company and her boss was nice to her.
Sophie knocked once and entered sometime after I found a third movie and got up for a cup of water.
"Just reporting the progress. We have secured trade with nineteen communities. A few have rare resources like gems and strange ore that one of their leaders calls mithril. I sent a sample to the researchers and we will have a report in the morning." Sophie sat down on the edge of the bed. "There are three communities that have established a working economy using gold, silver, and copper coins. They wanted to discuss an alliance. There is one group who pushed back the walkers and have a leader who is the embodiment of the Sea goddess. They specialize in seafood but they are looking for some of the same things we are plus other food products."
"Did they bring back conditions for this alliance?" I rubbed my eye as I stifled a yawn.
"No, they are hoping you could have a face to face meeting with them to discuss it. Do you want to set up a meeting?"
I shook my head. "You can handle it. I'm currently suffering from nature's balance."
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Our men also finished clearing out our stores. They have safely made it back. The farmers cleared the harvest and prepared the ground for two week winter. The greenhouses are set up for the mutated fruit trees. Dr. Naseem also feels confident that he is very close to breaking down the essences of our mutation."
"What about the crowd that was outside the gates?" I took a dip of the water that felt kind of off.
"The apartments were rushed but the construction crew finished four three story buildings. Each building holds ten apartments per floor for a total of thirty. Ninety apartments in total and forty-seven have been filled. The power station is at eighty-two percent usage. Suggestion to open another solar energy station. Resources for it are in excess due to trades." Sophie flipped the page. "Doctor Miranda believes that the fertility rate in awakerners versus normal people has decreased by thirty-five points. She would like permission to retrieve a few more samples for her case study."
"Tell her she has permission but only seeks volunteers. Start the second power station."
"Next is a list of scientists or engineers who have reached out with the hope of being accepted. They have been tested by several scientists on our side. Also, Demi requested for a bigger team and sent a list. Most are in communities a little far away. Take more than a day back and forth through walker-contested territory." Sophir flipped to the last sheet. "Our food stores are all above green. We also have a significant amount of meat in storage but due to the vegan trend, not many people are buying. Same for the new strand of weed, only a few addicts are buying. Should we move them out to be exported?"
"Cigs should be a hot sell, right?"
"There is no problem selling them and our current stock should last us into the next cycle with our current buyers."
I eyed Sophie for a minute. Just staring at eye candy as I process everything to figure out direction.
"Everybody fine with the entertainment?"
"There has yet to be a complaint since we created the red-light district. The pool hall and poker hall has a lot of business next to the gyms that have been set up."
"What about that guy who wanted to make new animations? How is his project going?"
"No details."
Okay, I legit couldn't think of any more reason to keep her here. So I dismissed her and rolled over. I feel like I am on a period with how shifty I felt.
Sophie left and I went back to sulking.

Not long later, Izzy came back.
"You are still laying around?" Izzy tossed her bag on the couch and kicked off her shoes towards the closet.
"Yeah, I'm sick."
"Oh, you poor baby." Izzy slid under the covers and layered me with kisses.
If I hadn't felt like shit, I would have responded with enthusiasm but I could only raise a half flag.
"I told you to wear proper clothes but you had to go out like it's summer everyday." Izzy placed her hand against my forehead. "No fever."
"I'm fine, it's just my power backlash. I have been holding the natural weather at bay to promote my own style. My energy is just exhausted and I'm a little tired but after a week of rest, I'll be fine." I wrapped my arms around her waist and tugged her closer.
"Oh, so this is a mutant thing?" Izzy had a smirk on her face.
"No, it's not a mutant thing. It is a demi-god thing." I lifted my chin.
"Bah! Who is a demi-god? More like a mortal playing with the laws of the world."
"Pssh, I, at least, have a foot in the god realm!"
"Sure you do. It's called a foot in the grave. Oh look, is that grey hair?" She grabbed a strand of loose hair.
My eyes tried to see but she kept it just behind my vision.
"I don't see any grey."
"You're not looking either."
"Because your hand is blocking me."
"Excuses!"
"I'll bite you."
"Oh, I'm so scared!"
Her bright smile lifted the migraine I was experiencing. It had given me a new round of energy and I used it to roll on top of her. I kissed her and my right hand somehow got entangled into her hair but her eyes had lost the sunny spark for the spark of lust.
Her hands pushed against my chest and I rose up. She somehow wiggle out of her pants and panties in a blink of an eye. She tugged off her shirt and her breast bounced within their confines. I reached under her and unclasped the bra. She tossed it aside and reached down to grab my fully awakened flag, guiding me in. Or tried but her excitement made her push me down towards her dark star.
My hip pushed forward and her eyes widened to the dinner plate. Her hands snapped downward and pulled me up quickly.
"Come on, let's do anal." I smiled upon feeling her sickness.
"Nu-uh. Better do that shit with Sophie or Luna. Not going to happen with me period." She wrapped her arms around my neck.
I lowered myself down into my elbows. Our noses touched and my hips worked in small strokes. Her feet rested on my calves.
"Wow, you are breathing hard from such a little movement." Izzy giggled.
I pressed my lips together and buried them into her neck. Bringing my knees up and out, I picked up my pace. Widen the distance between our hips then bringing them down in an explosive force. My smile Widen at the sudden hitch in her breathing. Her fingers are digging into the hard muscle on my upper back.
"Are you getting tired? You are slowing down." Izzy's voice inspired me to pick up.
I slowly lifted my chest to the upright position. I wiped away a layer of sweat and began doing justice to all the sick brothers! My hips were like well oiled pistons! That sea-saw motion was book material.
Looking at Izzy's slightly flushed face as she was holding back laughter.
I admit defeat. I pulled out and laid down. I even turned my head a little because she clearly knew I was sick and teased me like that.
"Sorry, I can't help it. You look so adorable as you tried." Izzy placed a hand on my arm like that would comfort me. "Turn over so I can get on top."
I gave her my back and she actually snorted like a pig while laughing.

I rolled over and grabbed my phone. It was a little surprising that Arthur was calling. Yet, the sound of gunfire was mildly surprising. Who had the people and resources to waste like this?
"Yeah?" I answered the phone after rubbing my chin and turning over.
"Do you not hear the gunfire? When are you going to send your men? Only after we run out of ammunition?" Arthur sounded a little agitated.
"Do you know what time it is? Why are you bothering me with your problems?" I hung up and lowered my head again.
Actually it was still evening. It didn't take long for him to call back.
"Yes?" I answered again.
"I haven't gotten even with you for the stores and you still wish to play this game?!"
"You already said that it is your city. Why would I waste my resources on someone that doesn't want me?"
I hung up again. A smile blossomed on my face and I felt rejuvenated. I tossed off the covers and walked to the window. Winter had already frosted the window and loitered on the yard.
My phone rang again but this time it was Jacob.
"Yes?"
"I was just wondering if you were really going to let your beef with Arthur sink the city?" Jacob sounded exhausted.
"Who is attacking?" I walked to the bathroom and eased my bladder.
"Forgotten and human lady."
"Oh, I can't attack Forgotten. We are in an alliance. He gave his daughter to me and well, I don't want to give her back." I shook twice, placed the phone on the counter, and washed my hands.
"Are you serious? We are brothers! Are you really going to stand aside as we die?"
"Maybe Arthur will die because he pissed off Forgotten but you will be fine if you surrender when Arthur passes. Besides Mary is over here so what are you fighting for?" I dried my hands and walked down the hallway towards the kitchen.
"Because we built this city with our hands. I put a lot of fucking blood, sweat, and my marriage on this city. Why can't you just ignore this grudge for today?"
My eyes played over the women sitting around the fireplace while watching a horror movie by the sound of it. I walked on by and spotted Luna sitting in the reading room with a blanket wrapped around her and reading a book under that umbrella lamp.
"Because he told me that was his city and he didn't want me there. I have my place to guard with the same things there and better in some aspects. We have a tissue factory." I leaned against the doorframe and watched Luna.
"Fuck! You are so childish! This is people's lives at stake.."
I hung up and walked over to sit with Luna. She looked at me with her red pupils as I scooted close to her.
"Can I help you?" She sounded very polite.
I just massaged her legs as she readjusted the cover to hide her tiny feet and the weird design on her toenails.
"Yes, I wanted to spend time with my new wife." I glanced at the phone that rang again.
Ignoring it, my hands slowly crept up Lunas slender calves to her thighs. Her pupils never left mine.
"Are you going to answer that?" Her eyes flickered down to the screen.
I glanced down and saw it was Forgotten. So I answered, "yes?"
"Hey, son-in-law! I'm about to take over your former city with my wife. You want to come meet us for an after celebration or should we come to your house since it's cold? You probably don't like the cold, huh?" Forgotten sounded excited.
"New wife? I heard she was human. Also, come over here. I am currently sick and it wouldn't be a good idea to move about." I put the phone on speaker and went back to massaging Luna's thighs.
"Okay, it should not take too much longer. Their shield users are wavering as we speak. Do you want me to take out Arthur? I know he has been rather petulant lately."
"If you want to. Oh, you are on speaker phone. I have Luna right here." I threw a glance at Luna whose pale neck was slightly reddish, the spotty kind.
"Oh, dear. Are you two mating? I'm going to have a grandson soon?" Forgotten sounded more excited than me at the prospect of sleeping with Luna.
Though that idea did delight me for a second. The one about having a child.
"Dad, don't embarrass me or I'll stop talking with you." Luna demanded.
"I'm sorry, dear. Just excited at the thought. Hold on, Arthur walked out the gate. I'm going to kill him." Forgotten hung up.
I rubbed my neck and sighed. I stood up and my clothes flew and settled on my body. Followed by white wolf coat.
I walked out the manor and flew into the air. My body shuttled through the sky. Below me was a long line of people flooding out the south gaye and towards my city. Lucky me, that Izzy had made those apartments. We had enough space to put up maybe a hundred houses but if we put up apartments, we could realistically house all these people.
The city looked like a blur of color beneath me. Fires and black smoke added to the illusion of masterful painting that was just smudges.
My stop came when I spotted a flash of gold and purple light. I landed on the gate that looked like someone nibbled upon it.
I quickly was able to see that Forgotten held the advantage. His every action looked eased. While Arthur's forehead held sweat beads the size of a walnut and his brows were trying to touch.
My target wasn't the fight but to gain an understanding of this stepmother as I bet she was the sole reason Forgotten even bothered.
At first I couldn't pick her out because I was thinking she would have to either be beautiful as a painting or have a body to die for. There was a lady in skin tight jeans and a matching jacket. She had a teen body but she could be tv pretty. What made me notice her was how she stood behind a few men with shields. She was talking with a walker who had soul waves that made me take him seriously.
I jumped over the fight and landed on the roof of the jeep. I pulled the capt Morgan pose with my foot up on the roof.
"Stepmom! I thought you would be hotter than this." My eyes rack her down but then I turned to the walker who had more of a presence. "Hello, friend."
The walker nodded at me and turned back to the fight. My stepmother glanced between us two before she spoke out.
"Who might you be? Also, it's rude to judge a woman's worth based on her looks." My stepmother was already lecturing me.
I jumped off the hood and walked over, holding out my hand in the process. "I'm the son-in-law. Forgotten shove his daughter off to me to form a marriage alliance. Now I'm very fond of her. So I decided to drop by and see if you were worthy of taking something I invested in."
My words made her hand stop mid swing. She glanced at the walker beside her who took a step back as if saying this had nothing to do with him.
Her men moved in front of her and I smiled. This was perfect for me to display my strength. With a wave of my hand, dragons made out of golden fires slammed down the shield boys with a paw.
My step mother's mouth opened and she summoned some kind of creature that stood on its legs like a kangaroo but its hold was shaped like an ape. Its body was covered with green scales and it stood like a mountain in front of me.
With another wave and another dragon appeared and slammed the creature down. Its screams were a little shrilly.
"Is that it?" I glanced at the creature then turned to my step mother. "Don't worry. We are still allies and you are my step mother. It would be folly of me to go against my trade partner plus my step dad. So all you need to do is convince me you are worthy of taking over this city and ill condone the swap of leadership."
The woman stopped stepping back and glance forgotten but he was still fighting Arthur. "I don't know what to say. I have only seen the city through clips and only have an inkling about how to make this city a major city for humans and friendly walkers alike."
I scratched my head, "that doesn't sound all that convincing to me. You have given me absolutely nothing and I guess you won't be able to give me a solid reason days later."
I grabbed at the air and forgotten's body stiffen. I dragged his ass over and he looked at me with widened eyes.
"Hey, I was this close to killing him!" Forgotten held up his fingers without a gap between them.
Arthur was indeed at the end of his ropes. He laid in a ditch bleeding like he was gutted.
"Your wife doesn't sound like a good mayor." I waved at the woman.
Forgotten shrugged, "she doesn't need to be a good mayor. The city is basically self-govern. They just need to know they are safe, which is what can happen slowly after we take over."
I tilted my head. "I don't agree."
Forgotten took a deep breath. "Are you seriously about to argue with me over a city you gave up?"
"Yes."
"Fucking asshole. Why did I have to have you as a son? My vision is greater than that pup. With me as leader, we don't need to worry about expanding through conquest but our business which can extend from one corner to the next. Our empire will become a pillar that can't be uprooted. Does this satisfy your hunger?"
I nodded and walked over to Arthur. A golden red sword slowly came into existence. "Arthur, I actually thought you would live longer than this but look.. you were beaten so severely by someone else. I can't even understand why I saw you as a threat to be at war with."
The flame sword pushed its way into his chest and I turned to the people on the wall. "You guys fought long enough. Go take a break. These guys will man the walls." I waved at the group standing behind me.
Then I turned to Forgotten. "Come on by when you finished moving in. I'll tell my wife to prepare a buffet."
I shot into the air and dropped down in front of the refugees. "You can return. The fighting is over. There will be a change of leadership but not much will change."
"What about the food?!" Someone yelled.
"Everything will return to before Arthur took over." I compromised.
"Who is the new Mayor?"
"A walker who is basically like a human but has silver hair and red eyes. He doesn't harm humans and he was a businessman before this. So you won't have any worries with him leading the way forward. Also, this will prevent other walkers from attacking. Just don't be prejudiced because power often defines who is right and who is wrong. You don't have it or you wouldn't be fleeing." I lectured.
"Why do we have to live under a walker rule?"
"Because he's my step-dad and I'm married to his daughter. His wife is also human like you. And if you don't want to live with walkers then you are definitely going the wrong way." I smirked at the crowd growing unease.
It only took some chatter amongst themselves to turn around. Because they paid for their houses and it's a long ass walk to my compound where they definitely would be waiting in the cold.
With that taken care of, I shot home and went to cuddle up next to Luna. Who look awfully uncomfortable. I can tell she was a shy nerd. The book she was reading was not a popular romance book because the Author was a well educated physics professor.
