I am coming off of a two-week trial in which my firm was defending a university in an employment case. Very document-intensive, and I have been remiss with my writing. I am changing that soon, an expect not only more chapters of the Ballad of the Bladesong, but another series I am working on (title TBD).

I am writing a second series for a simple reason: the Ballad is quickly transforming into a high-fantasy epic, and while I love the direction my "fly by the seat of my pants" writing style led me, it is going to take a lot of work to do correctly. So, for the time being, I am going to be outlining the remainder of the Ballad, and expect at most a chapter a week until the end of Act 2 when things pick up again. I have a lot of threads to pull together, as you are all aware.

To that end, I will be releasing a new series shortly with all my usual trappings, but with a more narrow narrative arc: a true progression/cultivation series, a rise from below the bottom to the very top of ascension.

Is this ambitious? Yes. Will I falter occasionally with a release schedule? Yes, I have a more-than-fulltime job to attend to. However, know that I will never be dropping either of these series, and look forward to more chapters of the Ballad very soon. I apologize for the direction the Ballad has taken for those readers who want more progression. I hope the new series will scratch that itch while also keeping a publication-level of prose and writing, which I believe is generally unavailable on both this website and Kindle Unlimited.
