Explosions and pillars of purple flames polluted the sky, with the roars of the united-kingdoms's army battling the Demon King's army drowning out the explosions. An enormous pillar of purple flames erupted through the sky, and a dark smoke-covered blur pierced through the sky and reversed somersaulted away from the pillar of flames.
The blur landed on a golden mana platform that formed below the dark smoke-covered blur, a super tall silhouette stood up from within the cloud of smoke before it slashed its arm through the smoke and revealed the tall, well-built figure within. (The individual was a seven-feet-tall, dark tanned skin male who looked like he was in his earlier twenties: he had scruffy dark green hair with a few black tuffs of hair, a black left eye and a golden right eye with a ring-shaped iris which has three solid white circles around the ring, and a long narrow platinum tail with paint brush shaped tail tip; he was also donned in an armless black skin-tight jumpsuit, baggy grey cargo trousers, knee-low dark blue wool coat, black metal hiking boots, and a super long black scarf with a night sky aesthetic)
The individual's scarf blew and danced in the raging winds as the massive multi-winged serpent black dragon howled through its purple flames. The individual grabbed a featureless [no eye holes] black metal mask which blew past him and placed it on his face and it covered his whole face.
"To think an angry mother would give me more hassle than half the Demon Kings I've faced... although I shouldn't be surprised," The Masked Hero said with a soothing deep voice. The Masked Hero glanced to his side before tilting his head to the side in a manner implying he rolled his eyes. The Masked Hero pulled his leg back and got into a fighting stance as the mother dragon howled again.
"... I see... not a bad Idea,". The Masked Hero altered his stance and stared down the mother dragon.
"I need to get to my companions before things get dicey," The Masked Hero uttered before he lept at supersonic speed towards the mother dragon with a deafening sonic boom.
Meanwhile, a red spikey-haired, tanned adult male human (with goat horns) darted his head at the sound of the sonic boom. The adult male tightened the grip on his sword, and he narrowed his orange/yellow gradient eyes before facing forwards again.
"Seems he's close; alright you lot we just need to hold out for a little longer!" the sword-wielding hero proclaimed to his allies. (a young pale-skinned, adult female vampire[with slightly long spikey purple hair, and a left blue eye and a right yellow eye], a short green-skinned, adult female half-goblin [with black tied into two large pom pom-like balls, and red eyes], and a muscular fair skinned adult male human [with grey hair, and grey eyes])
The other heroes cheered in agreement as the group of heroes stood before a large marble door.
"I feel like we've been in this situation before...," the female demi-goblin archer remarked as she knocked on the marble door.
"Did you just knock on the door to the demon king's throne room, Kel?" the vampire mage asked.
"I mean... as heroes we need to be cordial, Nevi," the human shield bearer remarked while looking at the mage.
"Tobias...," the sword-wielding hero uttered exhaustedly.
"Yes, Atlas. Are you implying we shouldn't be cordial even to our opponents?" Tobias asked sternly. Atlas awkwardly cringed as Tobias continued to give him a stern look and only relented when Atlas meekly sighed in defeat.
"No... sir," Atlas muttered deflatedly. Tobias confidently nodded before gesturing to the door. Atlas sighed and strolled to the marble door with his head hung low. Atlas raised his fist and repeatedly pounded it against the marble door. Atlas looked back at Tobias, and Tobias gave him a thumbs up.
A razor-sharp shadow spike pierced through the door directly above Atlas' head, causing him to stand in shock as the sound of childish girly giggling emanated from inside the throne room. Another shadowy spike pierced through the other marble door before the shadowy spikes reeled back and ripped the marble doors off their hinges.
A girly child-like cackle echoed from the throne room as the spike-tipped shadowy tendrils were at the end of raised the marble doors into the air. Cracks formed all over the doors before the doors shattered into rubble as thousands of mini shadowy tendrils shot out from the larger ones. The shadow tendrils retreated through the throne room and receded into the short humanoid figure made of shadow sitting flamboyantly on their throne.
"Wow, to think the summon heroes would make it to my throne room so quickly, and to think you'd even have the courtesy to knock before entering," the shadowy Demon King remarked cockily as she led on her throne and giggled.
"Told you," Tobias remarked, causing Atlas to frown.
"Can it, Tobias," Atlas said agitatedly as he readied his sword and coated its blade in a layer of pink and maroon flames.
"Combat statagy five?" Nevi asked with a serious tone.
"Combat strategy five," Atlas replied. The others nodded before Atlas slammed his foot into the ground, fracturing it on impact and rocketing off for the Demon King while being coated in his pink and maroon flames.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
The Demon King frantically scrambled to her feet and slammed her hands on the seat of her throne; she coated the throne, the floor around the throne, and the wall behind the throne in a dark shadowy shadow. The shadows wobbled before multiple large shadowy tendrils jetted out from the Demon King's extended shadow.
Atlas halted his charge and pulled back his flame-spewing sword. One of the shadowy tendrils rushed ahead of the other tendrils, and Atlas tensed up his arms and legs as he tracked the incoming shadowy tendril.
"I wouldn't recommend trying to cut my shadow tendrils, Hero!" the Demon King snarkily said. Atlas rolled his eyes before he lunged at the incoming shadow tendril. The shadow tendril slashed at Atlas, but he dodged to the side and delivered an upwards slice to the tendril; slicing through it like butter as the slash left a crescent-shaped trail of pink and maroon flames.
"Eh-?" The Demon King uttered nervously in surprise as she processed how easily Atlas slashed through her attack.
The remaining shadow tendrils raced for Atlas but they were easily dispatched by Atlas with swift sword slashes without the need for Atlas to even dodge. Atlas scoffed as he stared down the anxious short Demon King as she quietly stood on her throne.
"Is that all," Atlas asked snarkily as he braced himself for the Demon King's next attack. The Demon King quietly stood upon her throne as she balled up her fists and shivered in place.
"I- I... you...," The Demon King muttered jitterly. The Demon King collapsed to her knees and balled her eyes out as she cried like a baby and the shadow around her body drained off her to reveal her true self. (The Demon King was a short female fair-skinned child: she had eleven feet long pure white hair with metalic pale pink hair tips, glowing pale pink eyes with dragon iris', pale pink metalic scales [over her hands, forearms, and lower legs], six super large pale pink metalic dragon wings, a large chonky and extremely long pale pink metalic-scaled dragon tail with small metal spikes, and sharp fangs: she's wearing a pink frilly dress)
"You ruined my opening attack!" The Demon Lord cried out, causing Atlas to flinch. Atlas awkwardly turned back to his teammates but they were of no help as they were just as confused as Atlas was.
"Well... this is... erm umpresedented?" Kel remarked quietly as she rubbed the back of her head.
"The fact the Demon King is crying, or that the Demon King is a kid?" Nevi asked in a concerned whisper.
"Both?" Kel replied as she shrugged.
The group awkwardly stared at the crying Demon King in utter bewilderment until one of the walls exploded leaving a massive hole in it to outside. The Demon King paid no mind to the new hole in the throne room, remaining adamant about crying as The Masked Hero flew in through the window while a trail of deep magenta-purple energy trailed behind him.
"Master Xiavion!" Atlas called out to The Masked Hero as he dispelled his flames and sheathed his sword. Xiavion glanced over at Atlas and then to the crying Demon King in the background.
"Impressive you dealt with the Demon King without drawing any blood as I instructed," Xiavion remarked with a serious tone. Atlas recoiled from the wave of awkwardness from Xiavion's unintentional verbal attack.
"I... don't think making the Demon King cry counts, Master Xiavion," Atlas remarked awkwardly.
"If a wins-a-wins, then no-blood-shed-is-no-blood-shed," Xiavion stated.
"Even if you say that, it doesn't feel like it," Atlas uttered defeatedly. Xiavion sighed dismissively but shook his head before looking at Atlas.
"Since the Demon King has lost her morale, her influence on her army is gone, so the battle outside is over; so you lot head back and help any injured on either side," Atlas nodded. Atlas hurried over to the other heroes and reiterated what Xiavion bestowed onto him. The others nodded before they jogged towards the exit while making sure to avoid the glowing magic circle which abruptly appeared before the door.
Niavion exhaustedly yawned and rubbed his eyes as she walked towards the whimpering Demon King. The Demon Kind sulked to herself while pouting and glaring at the floor.
"No fair, he was supposed to wait for his turn...," The Demon King whined.
"A fan of games from the turn-based genre are you?" Xiavion asked as his feet came into view of The Demon King's vision. She slowly raised her head and stared up at Xiavion while having tear-filled eyes.
"Yeah...," The Demon King uttered meekly. Xiavion crouched down on one knee and wiped the tears out of The Demon King's eyes.
"I see..., what's your name?" Xiavion asked with a relaxed reassuring tone. The Demon King sniffled as she grabbed Xiavion's hand and lightly squeezed it with her tiny fingers.
"Toki... Toki Wrath...," The Demon King murmured. Xiavion raised his head slightly at hearing the surname Wrath.
"Wrath? As in Eribyōko Wrath?" Xiavion asked with a slightly intrigued tone, and the mention of Eribyōko's name made Toki's eyes light up.
"You know my brother?" Toki asked with a mix of enthusiasm and slight heartache.
"You...could say that.".
"Do, you know where he is? Everyone says he was killed, by the previous group of heroes, but I know that's not true. Since their leader had a no-kill rule, just like you," Toki said aggressively.
"On that note, I had a chat with your mother before I got here and I have a proposition for you which would resolve this whole forced demon king problem, and you'd be able to reunite with your brother again," Xiavion said while thinking he should have worded it to sound less like he was about to kill her given the common conscientious on her brother's living status.
"Ok~," Toki said cheefully while shaking Xiavion's hand with both of hers.
"Just like that?".
"Mama always said heroes can't lie, and the heroes in all my RPGs refuse to do bad things so why wouldn't I agree?". Xiavion remained silent for a second before chucking to himself, causing Toki to tilt her head at him in confusion.
"Fair enough," Xiavion remarked as he rose to his feet and extended his other hand.
"Would you like to go through with a modified version of the magic ritual I did with your brother to free him for being the previous Demon King?" Xiavion asked. Toki silently stared at Xiavion before she donned a serious, yet slightly adorable, expression and grabbed Xiavion's other hand.
"Yes... please," Toki requested. Xiavion nodded and the ground around the duo was surrounded by a large deep purple coloured magic ring which filled the room with its radiating light.
