The plasma-covered purple-scaled wyverns descended upon Abigail's large electrum golem. The electrum golem reeled its fist back before it lunged forward and slammed it into the face of a wyvern. The electrum golem swung its arm downwards, slammed the wyvern into the wyverns below it and crushed all of their heads into the ground with the same punch.
Radient purple-mana-infused blood spurted out from under the electrum golem's fist, and it raised its fist out from the crater formed from its punch. Abigail landed on the electrum golem's shoulder and looked into the mana blood-filled and wyvern meat chunks, which slowly converted into a purple crystalline material, filled crater before adverting her gaze with a slightly pale green tinge on her face.
"Take... that lizards... urg; how can Uncle and Father kill things without getting this... feeling in their stomach?" Abigail uttered while she placed her hands on her abdomen. Abigail crouched down and groaned as her electrum golem continued to dismantle any wyverns that attempted to attack Abigail.
"In their words: you never lose the feeling, but trying to get over it only makes it stronger, so you might as well accept it," Zalina (Zalroth's Kitsune Ego of Desire and she's in her humanoid form) remarked as she landed next to Abigail. Abigail appeared disheartened at hearing Zalina's words.
"Really... and here I was hoping it'd go away eventually," Abigail sulked as she raised her hands to her ears and covered them, which caused Zalina to smirk.
"Your ability to sense mana is far ahead of anyone else your age," Zalina remarked before she raised her hands and diced the airborne wyverns with claw-shaped wind mana slashes. Zalina clapped her hands together, and a dome made of cyan and pink mana covered by a faint silver aura. Abigail noticed the silver aura on the mana shield [mana dome] and lowered her hands from her ears.
"Although... you probably just have more compassion than us," Zalina mentioned as she sat down on her kitsune tails like they were a beanbag chair.
"You think so?" Abigail uttered meekly as she sat down on her electrum golem's shoulder. Zalina nodded before she reached into her tails and pulled out a bag of spicy red cheese puffs. Zalina opened the red cheese puffs bag and began eating them. A massive explosion erupted out from the gorge and everything outside Zalina's mana shield shook like an earthquake whilst not even a decibel of sound broke through it. Abigail defeatedly sighed before she heard a crunchy crinkle noise next to her. Abigail looked to her left to see one of Zalina's tails next to her with a bag of pink cheese puff sticking out of it.
Meanwhile, Zalroth stood at the base of the gorge as it was filled to the brim with dark soot. Zalroth spread out his tails and fanned them around to disperse the soot, revealing the devastated rainforest left in his wake. Zalroth gazed down at the ground and looked at the head of a ginormous eastern serpent-like plasma dragon with half of its head being made of a purple opaque crystalline material.
"I got a little excited when I first saw you given the amount of each spiritual energy I sense...," Zalroth uttered with a calm and deep voice. Zalroth crouched down and knelt on his knees.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
"But it would seem the energy I sense was actually your protective barrier shielding your child from being infected and becoming a Heathen like you almost did... until I...," Zalroth uttered with a remorseful tone. Zalroth closed his eyes, bowed his head to the ginormous serpent dragon, and rested his head against it.
"Although I wish I could resurrect you, but given you died while being infested by those crystals I'm incapable of doing so... so please allow me to atone by having your blessing to protect your child," Zalroth uttered calmly. Zalroth remained still as he heard a glass-cracking noise and the presence of the serpent dragon's mana fizzling out.
Zalroth opened his eyes with a heavy gaze and slowly raised his head to the floating football-sized purple dragon egg. Zalroth raised his hands to the dragon egg, and as his hands made contact with the dragon egg a faint sombre emotion emanated through his body.
"If you want me to do that, I'll see if Chronia will agree," Zalroth stated mentally before he rose to his feet. Zalroth buried the dragon egg into his tails, and once he was sure it was secure, he leapt into the air onto a cyan circular magic barrier. Zalroth clapped his hands together and conjured two vinyl record-sized earth magic circles [light brown coloured circles made of mana].
Zalroth separated his hands and pointed the magic circles at the serpent dragon. The earth around the serpent dragon rumbled and quaked before the loose ground levitated off the ground. Zalroth guided the floating ground over the serpent dragon and carefully used the ground to rebury the serpent dragon.
Zalina, Abigail, and Forge waited on the shoulder of Abigail's electrum golem and continued to eat their respective cheese puffs as they waited for Zalroth to return.
"It's oddly silent. I even dispelled my magic shield and the soundproofing magic on it, but still nothing," Zalina uttered disappointedly. Zalina sighed, but her disappointed demeanour faded when Zalroth leapt out of the gorge. Zalina and Abigail hopped down from the electrum golem and landed in front of Zalroth; Forge quickly placed her hands on the electrum golem and shrunk it down to the size of a doll before she grabbed it, and she floated down to Abigail.
"Did you beat the dragon, Uncle Zalroth?" Abigail asked with anticipation written all over her face. Zalroth glanced down at the gorge before back at Abigail with a smug poker face.
"Naturally, did you even need to ask?" Zalroth remarked smugly. Abigail's eyes sparkled at Zalroth's response.
"Woah, you're saying you beat an SS-Ranked monster!" Abigail proclaimed as she swung her arms to her sides while Forge mimicked Abigail's movements.
"So, we done here? Can we get back to the demon lord's mansion now?" Zalina whined.
"Antie Zalina, can you only think of indulging in food?" Abigail asked disapprovingly. Zalina smugly shrugged before she walled off with Abigail hurrying behind her.
"What can I say? Isn't it in my nature as a kitsune ego formed from desire?" Zalina asked rhetorically.
"Fair point...," Abigail uttered defeatedly. Zalroth sighed mentally as his poker face dissolved into a sombre stare. Zalroth looked at his left palm and the large scar all over his left arm before he clasped his left hand.
"Looks like I'll have to wait a while for another chance to stave off my apathy," Zalroth uttered before he glanced up, and a small smirk grew on his face.
"Or maybe I won't have to wait as long as I thought," Zalroth remarked before he walked after Zalina and Abigail.
