Chapter 1: Last Adventuring Quest Before The New Assignment

Zalroth yawned while he stretched his arms, legs, kitsune ears and nine kitsune tails as loud thuds reverberated nearby. Zalroth disappointedly glanced behind himself as the thuds drew nearer and a large shadow loomed over him. Abigail smugly grinned whilst she stood on top of a small-building-sized refined electrum male mannequin-shaped golem.

Zalroth peeked his vision upwards and followed the thin dark violet (it has a wavey effect) mana strings attached to limbs of the electrum golem which the mana strings were being held by Forge (using all six of her arms) as she puppeted the electrum golem.

"Don't get carried away you two, once we find the flock of rogue dragons your role is to keep them from fleeing while I restrain them," Zalroth shouted from below. The duo nodded in unison before Abigail lept into the air and hopped onto Forge's back. Zalroth smirked before looking forwards and closing his eyes. A thin wave of cyan mana flowed out from Zalroth's body and spread out through the surrounding landscape. Zalroth opened his eyes and coated his body in a low-level Lightning Amp (the user courses purple lightning mana through and around their body).

"This way, you two," Solus stated before he leapt into the air and Forge made the golem walk forward as she flew after Zalroth.

Zalroth created multiple large cyan disc-shaped magic barriers [they are reinforced clumps of mana which the user can manipulate the shape of at will] in the air space above the small dark red ravines and canyons while Abigail, Forge and the golem followed behind him.

Zalroth landed on a perfectly horizontal orientated magic barrier and looked down into the large gorge in the middle of the many small canyons to see the out-of-place mini rainforest filled with purple flora at the bottom of the gorge.

"Are the dragons down there, Uncle Zalroth?" Abigail asked as she adjusted out the amour pieces of her attire.

"Sort of. The report from the quest stated there were multiple dragons, but I only sense one dragon down there while the rest of them are wyverns," Zalroth stated. Abigail hopped down next to Zalroth and took a peek at the mini rainforest in the gorge.

"Does that mean I can fight the wyvern instead of your original plan, uncle?" Abigail asked with a pleading tone. Zalroth placed a hand on his chin and hummed to himself.

"I suppose it won't hurt given the wyverns seem to be in the B and A rank, but you better be careful," Zalroth stated. Abigail saluted while sporting a goofy and smug grin on her face. Zalroth nodded and pointed a hand towards the mini rainforest. Zalroth gathered wind mana (its pale green wind) into his hand and formed it into a sphere with a small hollow centre.

Zalroth dropped the wind mana sphere and football kicked it straight towards the mini rainforest. The wind mana sphere pierced through the air until it was halfway between the rainforest and Zalroth when it froze in the air. Zalroth snapped his fingers, and the wind mana sphere ripped itself apart and unleashed a deafening bang.

Abigail covered her kitsune ears before the deafening bang blasted past her and Zalroth, followed by the symphony of roars and snarls emanating from the gorge. The symphony was shortly accompanied by the sound of hundreds of scaly wing flaps bellowing from deep in the gorge.

"Hey, Uncle Zalroth, did you see? I covered my ears before the wyverns' screeches could hurt my ears," Abigail exclaimed excitedly while she had a cocky smile plastered all over her face. Zalroth playfully rolled his eyes and gave Abigail a head pat, which Abigail appreciated.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"Yeah, pretty impressive kiddo," Zalroth said. Abigail lightly glared at Zalroth when he referred to her as a kiddo, causing Zalroth to put on an awkward smile.

"Uncle Zalroth, I'm not a kid anymore!" Abigail whined while embarrassedly flailing her arms.

"Heh... right, you're a big girl now," Zalroth remarked playfully, causing Abigail to adamantly nod with an agitated attitude. Zalroth glanced into the gorge to see the army of purple wyverns coated in purple plasma mana racing up from the gorge.

"That's right! I'm ten years old now!" Abigail proclaimed while proudly huffing as her kitsune tails wagged from side to side; however, the moment the horde of plasma wyverns erupted out from the gorge, and the horde's collection of roars startled Abigail, she ducked in front of Zalroth to hide from the wyverns. Abigail slowly glanced up at Zalroth with a pout on her face.

"T-that doesn't count. I wasn't paying attention!" Abigail shouted at the wyverns as she jumped out from in front of Zalroth and angerly flailed her arms at the wyverns.

"Do you think you can handle the wyverns on your own?" Zalroth asked playfully. Abigail booed Zalroth for his apparent doubt in her abilities.

"Of course, I can, Uncle Zalroth! They're just overgrown winged lizards!" Abigail proclaimed, causing all the wyverns to glare at her in a blind rage at Abigail's comment.

"Good to hear, I'll be back in a jiffy," Zalroth remarked before jumping backwards and falling backwards into the gorge as he activated another low-level Lightning Amp.

Zalroth plummeted past the flying wyverns and nose-dived straight for the mini rainforest at the bottom of the gorge. Zalroth brandished a cocky smirk as he reeled back his fists and coated one in red flame mana and the other in cyan lightning mana.

"Don't think I didn't notice you just because you hid underground when you sensed me sensing you," Zalroth barked as he slammed his fists together and aimed for the cracked ground in the middle of the rainforest.

Abigail double fist-pumped to psych herself up as her electrum golem braced itself for combat while Forge disconnected her mana strings from the electrum golem and flew down to Abigail. Abigail pounded her gauntlet-covered fists together as Forge loomed behind her.

"Heh, I'll show Uncle Zalroth doesn't need to worry about me fighting a bunch of lizards," Abigail proclaimed before she tensed up her limbs and coated her body in a medium-level Lightning Amp. Abigail gained a devilish grin as she pulled a fist back and lept at the incoming wyvern horde while Forge flew behind her.

High in the sky above the battlefield, a baseball-sized ball of light floated and overlooked Abigail as she smashed a wyvern's skull under her fist. The ball of light flickered before the physical space around the ball of light contorted around it until it formed into Ela (the physical embodiment of the concept of creativity).

"It appears he's busy at the moment...."

"For shame"

"Shame, shame, shame, shame"

Ela stated to herself whilst the faint choir of an uncountable amount of different voices spoke under Ela's breath.

Ela cleared their throat before lightly tapping the spot of her body which resembled their chest.

"One need to get into the habit of speaking in the same plain of reality as its denizens," Ela uttered with the choir of voices being nothing but quiet murmurs as Ela spoke. Ela sighed and hung their head low before glancing up and glancing their head at you. A wyvern flew next to Ela seemingly unaware of Ela's presence even when it looked directly at them. Ela grabbed the wyvern's leg as it began to charge a plasma energy attack.

Ela flexed her hand, and a split second later the wyvern's entire body had transformed into a lego. Ela released her hand from the wyvern, and it puzzledly looked at its new Lego body. The wyvern heard a woosh of wind approaching it, and when it glanced upwards its head was shattered into thousands of Lego pieces as a large metal sphere smashed into it.
