An entire year passed with my daily routine of waking up before sunrise, sparring against illusion opponents a level above me rather than intermediate.
Eating breakfast, bathing, changing, and going to school, coming home for dinner, and meditating before resting for the night inside my soul separating mana.
Over the course of the year I'd already reached the first intermediate level for mana, chi sadly was only the peak of the ninth beginner level, and natural energy was even worse only to the point of being beginner level two.
Having long since taken back her mana Emily slowly regained her strength from traversing worlds, after all she couldn’t be un-summoned and rather had to find her own way.
In school Mrs. Prima had abandoned her original lesson plan and was now using a textbook I'd created, finding out paper rather expensive I helped her to create a chalkboard.
The chalk was merely sand bonded together with magic that made it bond to the wall, by placing one end of a device Mrs. Prima had commissioned the sand would be pulled over the wall to it regenerating the makeshift chalk stick.
The lessons she now taught had gone from simple addition and subtraction and moved up to multiplication and division, for those who wished they could learn brackets, exponents, and B-E-DM-AS.
At home not much changed until Emily suddenly announced 'Master I've fully recovered'
In the next moment a blue dragon flew out from my chest, surprised to say the least I quickly gathered the remnants of my dress 'Sorry master.'
Landing on the ground in front of my she slowly began to change shape growing larger well deforming, finally turning into a humanoid shape she stood up a naked woman covered in blue scales.
"What's with the scales?"
"Master dislikes being naked, preferring to be a gentleman." She's got me there so I see no point in arguing, walking into the house from the garden Sam let out a surprised yell.
Casually well wiping up the water she'd spilled as we walked in Sam asked "Young miss who exactly is your young friend?"
"The blue dragon-phoenix Emily."
"B-bl-blue dragon-phoenix! But it was covered in red flames before!!" The look of show evident on her face I pleaded for Emily to stay silent well I explained.
"She'd used up a majority of her power and had to recover over this time" Yeah that’s true so it's not technically lying, just not fully explaining.
Seeming to accept my explanation or maybe she just knew I wouldn’t answer if pressed Sam let me slip by, quickly heading upstairs I released my torn dress letting it fall to the ground.
Walking over to a dresser I grabbed out a pair of panties and a camisole, handing them over to Emily I left to get us both fresh dresses.
For Emily I grabbed a light red sundress and a plain white-blue one for myself, changing into our new clothes we then headed downstairs to be met by Sam and my parents gathered in the kitchen.
"It's nice to finally meet you Emily we've heard so much" My mother was the first to speak thankfully welcoming Emily with open arms, my father however wasn’t the same.
Sitting with a large frown across his face he began to speak, "Don’t hurt my daughter again."
Same remained quiet throughout the entire conversation well my parents got to know Emily well I silently meditated off to the side, the important part of the conversation was that Emily would be going to school with me.
"A familiar goes where it's master goes" to quote my mother, thankfully dad had no objections and Sam had already left to prepare her a bed.
Entering my room later that night Sam began to instruct Emily on how to wash and dress me, showing distain clearly across her face I announced "I'm old enough to dress myself!" it ended with that.
Entering my bedroom it appears my bed's enlarged from a double to a princess style king sized, sitting down on the left side I sunk deeply into the mattress.
Emily taking the right side of the bed slipped under the covers and silently went to sleep, entering the bed I laid down closed my eyes and entered in my soul.
The large ocean of mana I had before was now divided into six different colored impossibly deep lakes surrounded by chi of the same element, the natural energy I'd collected sadly was still only at the point of long grass and flowers.
The ocean inside of my soul has been reduced to a large chi island slowly flattening out the mountain in the center, slowly over time the grass itself had begun changing color naturally separating with the other energies.
Waking up the next morning I went with Emily to attend her first day of school, at first Mrs. Prima was going to teach her like the five year olds but I informed her she'd attended classes together with me until now.
Simply accepting my explanation Mrs. Prima went about starting the younger children off with meditation unlike normal, calling the older children over she led up outside.
Today would be battle training! Sparing one versus one using blunt wooden swords, first Mrs. Prima showed us multiple different movements and had us copy until we were deemed satisfactory.
Having been training for over a year I'd already reached a decent level of skill and understanding concerning combat with a sword, next up would come the fighting.
The first fight was for the boys go figure, in the end Kyle won out be skillfully dodging Anthony's attacks.
Next I was up against Selena, stepping forwards I moved right into her slash raising my sword up to block hers.
After pushing her back and disrupting her stance I rushed forwards and raised my sword slashing in an upward diagonal, throwing herself back Selena dodged by a hairs breath.
Obviously both of us had received far more training than either of the boys, next Selena chose to increase the distance between us.
Pressing forwards I fell into her trick and was blinded as she kicked up the loose dirt, smashing into my face she rushed in as I was temporarily blinded 'coming from the right approximately three feet up two feet to the side of your nose.'
Thanks to Emily's help I was able to block long enough to wipe the dirt from my eyes, this time around Selena was the one to get dirt in the eyes as I crouched sliding across the ground to pick it up.
Only hitting one side of her face I used it to my new advantage pressing her blind side, holding me of with one hand she cleared her face with the other.
Pressing my attack I aimed for the moment she moved into a two handed stance, hitting the sword right at the tip I was able to loosen her grip.
Already striking again closer towards the hilt Selena suddenly regained her grip, a faint! Moving in for the kill she stepped in swinging finally landing the first blow of our fight.
Having seen enough Mrs. Prima moved in to stop our fight announcing it to be Selena's victory, returning back into the house everyone once again began to meditate.
Stopping me just before I'd emerged myself in training I opened my eyes to Mrs. Prima's smiling face, "Azura don’t feel bad, although you're not an intermediate fighter like Selena or the others you held on against her with skill alone."
"Thank you Mrs. Prima" Sincerely thank you I was starting to feel bad since even I knew the longer the fight went on the worse my situation would have become.
Returning to my meditative stance I let time slip away, reaching my senses out around me to help draw in more energy the months quickly passed until winter ended.
No longer bound to the classroom I instead spent my days traveling around the perimeter of the town, well doing so I slowly scanned the surrounding areas finding the highest concentration of natural energy.
Truthfully Emily was the one who found it her abilities far beyond my own, sadly it's a little far out of the way into an area I'm not allowed to explore at my age I'm barely allowed outside the town.
Quickly passing the months flew by while I was busy training, playing, and sparing with the other children.
Even without school being in session all of the children would usually gather together in a clearing joining each other in both training and play.
The younger kids did most of the playing but being six year olds my classmates couldn’t resist joining in, sometimes some of the seven and eight year olds would come join us in a game of tag.
Although the population was small the reason why is the younger generations leaving to war, earn money, and find partners.
Every so often someone would come back to the village and a new house would be built, in my six years here only two new houses have been built but more than twenty young adults left.
Recently a stone house had been erected by a couple in their late four hundreds, after many years out exploring the world they decided to settle down in the town.
The name on the front of their house was the Bernard Family, along with them they brought their son, his fiancé and their son about seven or eight years old.
With their arrival the town began to change, the walls were repaired and enlarged, houses were newly built out of stone for the residences.

As far as I could tell they'd begun to turn our small little village into the beginnings of a city, thanks to them never a dull day passed since there was always something new happening.
At one point they'd even begun to retrain the guards, at most you could call them residents before now.
After a few months of training they slowly began to look like real soldiers, the best of them being advanced level practitioners they didn't give off the feeling of protection guards should.
Maybe it's just my own thoughts since my own family is the exception, besides the Bernard's my parents were the only members of the village above the advanced tier.
Slowly over two years passed and the village expanded into a town with a population of over five hundred demons and beasts, the most exiting edition was the dark elves who took up residence.
The walls surrounding the town were now an astonishing ten feet tall four feet wide, walking around the outside four guards would constantly be patrolling.
At the tender young age of eight I was now working within the village like the older children, an actual school was build to accommodate the population.
Two teachers worked together to supervise the children now, every so often Mrs. Prima would steal me away from my work to help out.
Due to the change in curriculum lessons took a far longer time so instead of struggling through mathematics the majority of the time was spent learning social skills and training.
In demon society the average person is at the very beginning of the intermediate level, usually one would reach this point by the time they'd turned five.
The many beast clans couldn’t boast the same instead their average citizen was only in the beginner tier, already at the fifth intermediate level for chi I was considered above average.
Even saying that when compared to Selena I was far out done, I'd been given the advantage of time but even with that she'd easily kept up staying one step ahead.
Throwing in my intermediate level magic I could beat Selena without it I'd be done for, the dark elves unlike the demons and beasts specialized in magic.
Being my equal or better the dark elf race was supposed to grow into being advanced level mages through mana crystals alone, their innate ability was astounding facing one once I was easily defeated.
The natural affinity of dark elves usually includes four or more shadow attributes, in the face of their powerful shadow magic I was no match.
Thankfully due to the population increase the town naturally attracted more and more natural energy, just last month I was able to break through to the fourth beginner level.
Anthony on the other hand found he had an aptitude for life magic, to fuel his training he'd suck the energy directly from living things mostly plants but every so often he'd get his hands on an animal or two.
He'd already passed me reaching the sixth beginner level, even though he'd started later and I had an affinity for it.
Emily found herself a comfortable place to train and remained there for months at a time, like a statue she'd sit meditating never moving once.
Sadly I couldn’t spend my time meditating instead I was working in town together with the tailor Sarah for six hours a day, Selena worked in the new tavern's kitchen whereas Anthony and Kyle worked under the blacksmith Mordecai.
Sewing clothes wasn’t actually what I did all day, no way would I ever sew buttons onto shirts and the like for hours at a time.
Instead we'd use magic, nearly everyone in the world could at least become a first level magician.
Casting a simple spell over the materials could cause a sort of menu screen to appear, from there you could design the garment change colors, patterns, and size of the material.
Creating my first shirt I was able to make a perfectly form fitting shirt for Magnus, trying again Aura's was a little more difficult learning to accommodate for her bust.
In the end I was finally able to create a perfect blouse for her and Sam, Emily quite enjoyed me learning to make clothing when occasionally out of training she'd spent hours having me create whatever design she could think up at the time.
Blacksmithing was generally the same but sadly I wasn’t allowed to learn the skill, Anthony offered to teach me once Kyle quickly piped in that he'd help.
Selena just laughed at the two of them well standing beside me, seeing the look change on Anthony's face she stopped laughing.
Turning around we were met with the figure of Mordecai the blacksmith, after an entire month of punishment Anthony and Kyle wouldn’t even look me in the eyes afraid it would start again.
When I was nine Mrs. Prima actually came to visit me at home, it was about the chalk board device we created.
A merchant had apparently stopped in on her and seen it being used, seeing their value he asked Mrs. Prima if he could sell them.
After speaking with her friend who helped create it I was the only variable left, without my permission the item wouldn’t be sold but if it was I'd receive a third of the profits.
Accepting the deal I simply asked to meet the merchant myself, Mrs. Prima agreed and it was arranged for me to head down to the school around noon the next day.
The next morning I woke up early and headed off into town, meeting up with Sarah I began to clean and organize the materials.
Looking over I could see her bright amber eyes staring at me as I worked, no doubt the entire town has heard about the merchant by now.
Working through the rest of the day I was able to finish up just before noon, heading off Sarah wished me luck and congratulated me.
Entering the school building I could see the younger children being taught by Mr. Ross, Mrs. Prima was most likely in the back kitchen.
Entering the kitchen area I could see multiple different setup I'd designed, cooking has become a part of the curriculum since I mentioned when the school was built.
On the second floor is eight different bedrooms for the teachers and orphan children, although kids are well cared for and adopted for now things may change if numbers increase in the future.
Scanning the rest of the room Mrs. Prima was sitting of to the side with a middle aged man, human and looking to be in his late thirties early forties he turned to give me a large smile.
"So here's the genius herself!" Standing up he met me half way and pulled out a third chair at the table for me to sit down, placing himself back in his seat he pulled out the 'chalk.'
"This truly is a wonderful idea to save on costs, rather than paper one simply needs a blank wall."
"Yeah, that'd be the point to it but it's not what I came here to talk about."
"Oh? Well if that’s the case please let me give you my full attention young miss" Skipping over the pointless babble I explained to him the concept of a toilet.
If I'm going to live my life as a girl then a toilet is on the top of my list of necessities, thinking about it now I should've had them made far earlier when the town was being renovated.
After that I began to explain the concept of an oven, barbeque, and most importantly a basic desktop computer.
By the end of the day I'd been forced to draw out designs showing how to create the circuits and electricity to run the computer, sadly i only have basic knowledge the best i can do is explain the a simple coil wire generator.
Besides explaining that the metal needs to be delicately placed in unobstructed pathways to properly conduct electrons i was at a loss, hopefully with just the concepts they'll work something out.
Chalk after all was just described as a type of easily washed pencil and turned out half decent, over time they may come out with a magical equivalent.
The toilet was just said to be a bowl hooked up with a tank of water letting it flush down the preexisting drains, a simple water magic crystal could easily do the trick.
For the oven just create it with a fire magic stone or two and the barbeque basically just a grill and fire wood shavings. with this I could at least live comfortably in this world, even if I don’t work I should make enough money off royalties.
When the contract was signed I was astonished to read I'd actually be getting fifty percent of what the merchant would pay for each item, Mrs. Prima would take only ten percent leaving forty for the one actually making them.
Leaving the school I ran into Selena and walked her home before returning to my own house, when we arrived Anthony came out and overzealously greeted me.
Almost entirely blocking him out I said my goodbyes to them both and continued walking down the road, passing the tailors workshop I stopped in to wish Sarah goodnight as well.
Returning home I quickly went upstairs to wash myself off and slipped under the covers shortly after, closing my eyes sleep slowly washed over me.
