Zane woke to a familiar voice speaking to one that he hadn't heard before.
"I told you going to earth was a bad idea. Now look what has happened." someone said.
"I know you did, and I should have listened; however, we are here now and must do something about what happened. This one died trying to help me escape." Charles said.
"Wait, I died?" asked Zane. "If I died, then how am I here listening to the both of you? Also, why do you sound like the AI for the game."
"What you thought was an AI for the game was actually me. I came to this realm seeking unique people to bring to our world. Earth has been blocked off for a long time, and I now understand why. When I got here, I saw a few people, but then I was grabbed, and when they figured out that I wasn't from this realm, they trapped me and started to steal my power. It was not a fun experience, to say the least. He came to save me and activated a spell, dragging objects to me that may destroy my cage. In the process of trying to help everyone else, a spear went through your chest, causing your death. Honestly, that was unique to me, and I invite you to come to our realm and change your life forever. You will have access to magic and see wonderful sights that few from your realm have. Will you accept this and join us?" Charles responded
"That sounds absolutely amazing, but what would happen if I decided not to," Zane asked.
"Sadly, your body has already died, so if you decide not to come with us, then that will be it for your life."
"Will I ever be able to return or see my dad or Arin again?"
"No, and as for Arin, he is no longer of this world. When the beam fell, he was caught under it. He passed away on the way to the hospital after you were pronounced dead at the scene, but we really don't have much time. Will you come or stay? We will even allow you to bring something from this realm for everything that has happened."
"I will go with you," Zane said as he thought of everything he could bring. He thought about his kit, his bow, a photo of his family, and even some of his tools. As he thought about this, he came to one final decision. "I want to bring Arin with me."
"I will allow this. Since he has died, you shall have access to his soul."
'ding' System integration in progress.......
'ding' System integration compete.
'ding' You have unlocked the class Necromancer. You are a master of death itself. This allows you to create skeletons using bones that you imbue with magic. This class is a bonus and will count towards your class limit.
"We will also give you an ability to help you immensely through this experience."
'ding' You have unlocked the ability Analyze. You can use this ability to analyze items and other creatures.
"You will also need to choose a primary weapon and armor class. We shall send you with gear, as this path will be challenging. You will be assigned a class based on your weapon and armor. You will also be able to choose from professions. Because we were part of your death, you can access two class options without being limited in professions. What will you choose as your primary weapon?"
Zane thought about this briefly before choosing the bow as his primary weapon. He picked leather armor to have some protection while still being able to move.
'ding' System Blessing acquired! Master Craftsman - You gain proficiencies in your crafts at double the rate of others, and you can unlock every craft!
'ding' Legendary Achievement earned Trailblazer - First to obtain a system blessing in the world. - Adds 100 luck!
'ding' You have unlocked the class archer as your first class. Your ability to use a bow is admirable but lacking. You can hit your shots but need more experience to hit where it hurts.
"Now that all that is said and done, good luck; I look forward to seeing where you end up. Maybe we will see each other again one day!" Charles said as he snapped his fingers. Everything went black, and then Zane awoke to hear Arin yelling and another voice he didn't recognize.
"What is going on?! Zane, are you okay?"
Zane looked straight at a ball of light. He thought of the skill Charles had given him and attempted to figure out how it worked. He looked at the light and thought to analyze it, and suddenly, a prompt came up. {Arin (Level 1 wisp)}. He also considered using it on himself, and another prompt came up. {Zane (Level 1 archer)}.
'ding' The skill analyze has reached level 2.
"This is so neat," Zane whispered before turning towards Arin. "Yes, I can see you, Arin. Do you remember anything of what happened?"
"Last thing I remember was you firing an arrow, and then that spear went through your chest. After that, there was a loud noise, and everything went dark. What is going on?"
"Honestly, you wouldn't believe me if I told you, and I'm not sure where to start," Zane said, running his hand through his hair.
"Just start at the beginning."
After briefly explaining how things got here, Zane heard a slight sob from Arin.
"So we both died and can never return home and of all things you chose to bring with you here, you thought of me?"
"Well, we always talked about exploring different worlds. I couldn't let this slip by without you here with me."
"Thank you," Arin said as his light spun around. "So, where do we go from here?"
Zane had yet to look around, and when he did, he wasn't sure what to do. The pair were standing in a forest clearing with nothing but trees near them. Zane kept looking around when his stomach growled. Zane noticed that he was wearing a backpack and decided to check it. It had a bedroll hanging from the bottom and contained essential gear like a tent, a knife, a waterskin, flint and steel, a notebook, a pencil, and a mirror with a note attached.

Zane,
Since your old body has passed away, we had to find a fresh body. Hope you like it. If I were you, I would check your status as soon as you can. Also, you made an interesting decision to bring your friend. The first thing you do is find a body to put him in. If you do that, he can choose his own weapons and skills. The sooner you do this, the better. Try to get a move on it.
Good luck and goodbye

Arin noticed that Zane was going through his pack and decided to use this time to try and figure out how being whatever he was worked. He could fly around anywhere he wanted, even float, but he didn't feel tired or like he needed to rest. He flew around a bit and ascended towards the treetops. He saw a beautiful world around him. A small town was just a short distance away, and a stream led towards it. In the distance, he noticed a large mountain pass and something massive flying above it. He couldn't quite make out what it was but could see a gigantic creature flying over the mountaintops. He also noticed a small camp between him and the town. He noticed things were moving inside, but they didn't look human; he was far enough away to assume he was wrong. He looked back down, seeing a grin on Zane's face, and decided to come back down.

Zane smiled at the idea that he could do more for Arin. He removed the note from the mirror and looked at himself. His dark hair was slicked back into a ponytail, and his eyes were a piercing blue. He was happy about the way he looked and decided to move on. He started looking through his pack to find something to help him see his stats. He began to get frustrated when he couldn't find anything.
"Status," he said mockingly, and as he said it, a list formed in his mind.

He thought briefly about what all this could mean when his stomach growled again.
"Well, first things first, we need to find some food," Zane said as he started walking through the forest. Keep a look out for something to eat."
Zana and Arin started moving through the forest, looking for food. A few minutes later, Arin called out that he had found some mushrooms. Zane went over and used analyze on the mushrooms. (Red mushrooms) Zane noticed it only gave him the name and figured it might change later. He picked the mushrooms, put them in his pack, and started moving again. He started looking for food again and noticed a small stream nearby. He started walking towards where he was, the mushrooms again, seeing a rabbit off to the right side behind a tree and using his analyze skill on it. (Field Rabbit - Level 1) Zane knocked an arrow and started to aim. Everything stilled as he prepared. Zane let loose the arrow and hit the rabbit in the side, causing information to be shown to him. (Field Rabbit slain - awarding 10 exp).
'ding' You have unlocked a skill for Archer. Bow mastery. Do you wish to keep it?
'Neat,' Zane thought as he chose to keep the ability.
Bow mastery- increases skill with the bow as you level this skill.
He then walked over to the rabbit and picked it up. He wasn't sure how to dress the rabbit and was looking at it, trying to figure it out.
"Do you need some help with that?" Arin asked, noticing that Zane was having issues.
"Actually, I have no idea what I am doing with this."
"It is actually quite simple," Arin said.
Arin explained the process step by step, and after about twenty minutes, Zane had a rabbit skinned and quartered and got yet another message.
'ding' You have unlocked the profession of butcher. You now have knowledge of basic animal anatomy, and skinning and cleaning the animals you kill is easier. You also get more resources from each kill.
After separating the meat, he cleaned the bones off and stored them, then headed back towards the stream, noticing it was getting dark, collecting twigs and some wood on the way. When he got to the stream, he saw a small clearing and decided to set up camp there for the night. He started by lighting a campfire with the flint and steel from his pack. After that, he started getting his tent set up. The tent was canvas wrapped around the wood and tied with rope. He took two of the sticks and tied them together, crossed at the top, and did the same with two others. He then put a longer stick across the two sets of linked posts. He then attached it to the others and put the canvas over it, fastening it at the bottom and sealing the end with rope again. He left the entrance towards the campfire and set his bedroll across the bottom. He then stuck pieces of rabbit on small sticks and propped it up to cook over the fire.
While the food was cooking, Zane decided to try the mushrooms he had stored earlier. As soon as he ate it, he got a message. 'Poisoned by mushroom - lose one health per second for thirty seconds.' After thirty seconds, he got another message.
'ding' You have unlocked the general skill poison resistance. Poison now has less of an effect on you.
"Hmm, that is interesting," Zane said mostly to himself.
"What is?"
"I am unlocking different abilities depending on what I do. I just got a resistance from eating the mushroom."
Zane then grabbed some cooked meat from the fire and started eating, creating another prompt.
'ding' You have unlocked the profession, Cook. You can now cook meals that give more nourishment and taste better.
'Healing from cooked meat - gain two health every second for thirty seconds.'
"Well, at least that takes care of the health I lost," he said as his health increased. He looked at the floating wisp in the camp and considered whether to tell him what the note said.
"Arin, we need to discuss something. I can get you back into a body if we get lucky enough to find one. Is that something you would be interested in?"
"And fight by your side and experience this world with you? Sign me up!"
Zane felt like the wisp was smiling as it said that. "We will try to get you a body as soon as possible."
Zane finished eating and then remembered the bones in his pack. I'd like to know if I can do anything with these. He thought of everything he could do and finally settled on arrowheads. As soon as he thought of it, the bone started glowing and then turned into an arrowhead.
'ding' You have unlocked the unique profession of bone shaper. You have total control over bones and can shape them into anything.
"That was awesome!" Arin yelled. "That should come in handy in the future."
He took the rest of the bones out, piled them up, and thought about arrowheads again. The whole bunch of them, including the first one, turned into 15 arrowheads.
'ding' You have leveled bone shaping to level three. 10 skill points awarded. Your control over bone has increased, allowing more detail in your work.
He put all the arrowheads down and started looking for branches that would make suitable shafts for the arrows. He found a good bundle and took them back to his tent. All he needed now was some sort of feather to create the fletching. That would have to wait until another time; he needed some sleep, so he set down his bow and quiver and then lay down to get some sleep.
