The rate groaned in pain as he slowly lifted his heavy eyelids, his headache pounding in rhythm with his heartbeat, He attempted to rise to his feet, but a wave of dizziness swept over him, causing him to lose his balance. He blinked as he came to and was surprised to see that his health slightly restored, he gained back some Mana, it was likely due to an undisturbed sleep.He noticed he could see his stat and skill points but not only that their was the Beginner that appeared next to his level. The only thing he could think of is his inspection ability must have upgraded the screen.
He was curious about his skill points but first he surveyed his surroundings and noticed that there were still three rats remaining. The first was the larger rat that somehow survived and the other two rats where smaller then him more then likely newborns. He focused his gaze on each in turn activating his Inspection ability.

To his surprise, he found that all of the rats were level 0, was it because they were creatures and not monsters? He could even see the dead rats levels were 0. He looked at the three rats as he began to emit a soft glow. The rat, looked at him drawn to the light. A magic circle formed beneath the largest rat, the circle began to grow smaller and smaller until it vanished into the rats, body.

The other two rats were not as useful as the larger rat, but at least it was better then when he started out. He nodded and then it was now time to start figuring out what skill points were exactly. As he thought about his skill points, a large amount of blue windows that described different kinds of abilities. His excitement quickly died down as he released almost all abilities costed way too much, most costed around 1,000 to 50,0000 points!
Even if he reached the maximum level, he doubted that he could get enough points for any of these. Before he could continue scrolling his stomach growled as he groaned, we can continue this after he has eaten. He needed to find food the best he could at least anything would work for now.
The rats he formed a pact with as if sensing his hunger squeaked to follow them, as he did so they led him through the sewer. As they went into the sewer they came into a grate leading into a street, as he entered the street they led him into an ally way on the street. The strange thing about this was that he saw many animals.
Many of them were cats, dogs, raccoons, rats, and many others, however none of them where fighting, it was almost like this was a safe heaven for them. The rats lead him further to a dumpster, usually he wouldn’t dream of this but now he was hungry and was a rat, no longer being human of having the dungeon fed him Mana this was his only choice.
He wasn’t proud of what he did but he needed to survive, As he was done he sat down and began to look at his skills, he could only find a few for the skill points he could find and most were not useful he did find two he settled on though.

The fog magic was the only kind of magic he could learn at the moment, he thought it could help him with making other kinds of magic later and it could help him hide against stronger people, he didn’t know for sure but it was better then nothing, and mana control could help him with the little amount of mana he did have.
He was about to leave the windows when something caught his eyes, at the very bottom was a weird skill.

That was strange his awakening ability was max, but has he tried to use it nothing happened. Sighing he decided he would inspect that ability later and try to figure it out. He decided to stay in the ally as he found a quiet spot and began to use his mana control,
As he used the ability he could feel energy surging through his body, he could feel it going through his nerve system as he began to use the exersice, it didn’t make him stronger are faster but it didn’t matter after an hour he started sweating as, he saw a window appear.

Allysa was walking out from school as she had her back pack slung over her shoulder. She was thinking of what all she could do to get a new job, she was gonna have a busy day today. Not only that their wasn’t many days left when Sophia leaves. She had no idea what she was going to do. As she was thinking she heard out a voice.
“Hey Allysa, is everything okay? You look a little down.” She noticed Sophia walking towards her, “You haven’t talked to me all day. Is this because of me awakening.” Sophia said worried for their friendship.
“It’s not that Soph,” She said with a weak smile. “I got fired from my job at the Quick N Easy.” Allysa said with a sigh as Sophia’s eyes widened, she knew how important that job was for her.
“What? Why? What happened, you was the best and one of the only workers their.” Sophia said shocked they would let her go.
“The manager said my attendance was a problem and that he couldn’t deal with someone who couldn’t show up on time.” Allysa said remembering the conversation.
“What but you have school and stuff, is that allowed?” Sophia said shocked.
“I don’t know, I just know I have to find a new job soon.” Allysa said as Sophia nodded to herself.
“Nope not today, today we going to have fun.” Sophia said as Allysa looked at her.
“Wait what,” She then began to drag away Allysa as Sophia chuckled.
“Look I don’t got much longer till I have to go and you need a break from all the working.” Sophia said as she dragger her along with her.

“Being an awaken has perks so don’t worry come on lets go!” Sophia said as Allysa stopped struggling and just accepted that it was going to happen.
Later that day
Allysa and Sophia were walking down a street as the two where laughing, Allysa had a bag full of food in her hand.
“Hey Sophia, thanks for today.” Allysa said with a smile.
“It’s no problem, though why did you want a bunch of pet food I don’t know you have a pet?” Sophia said wondering how she could have never seen a pet at Allysa’s house.
“Oh, I don’t, its for something I like to do. It helps me clear my head. Wanna come with me?” Allysa said as Sophia curious nodded.
“Sure its only seven and I don’t need to be home till nine.” She said with a grin as they walked. Soon they came to an ally way as they stopped. Allysa began to walk into the ally way.
“Wait are you sure you should go in here?” Sophia said as she had heard many storied of girls getting jumped in ally ways.
“Don’t worry their my friends,” She said as she took out some pet food from the bag and opened it up, as she did so many animals appeared around her as she began to pour out the food they began to eat, after she was done she knelled down and began to pet them.
Sophia reluctant at first decided to join her. “SO you do this every day?” Sophia asked as she loved the feeling of their fur on the cats.
“Not every day, usually once a weak, Sitting here with these animals it feels nice.” Allysa said as Sophia looked at her, Allysa looked almost saint like as she petted the animals. Sophia then looked down as she screamed and stood up, Allysa turned and laughed.
“Their just rats,” She said as she looked at the rats but then frowned, their were four of them.
“That’s strange,” She said looking at them.
“What is?” Sophia said calming down but not going near the rats but wondering what she meant.
“Rat’s usually travel in colonies, but only four would be like a starting family, not only that this little guy in front seems to be the leader. The leader is usually the biggest or eldest of the rats.” She said as she leaned down to pet the rat, the rat looked strange to her.
“What if it has rabies?” Sophia said to warn her friend.
“Relax, it hasn’t tried to bite us and the rat seems calm maybe a little smelly.” She said as she petted the rat, as she did so something happened.Her body began to glow brightly as she looked at herself confused. In front of her a game like window popped open.

His name was Johnathon Wright, he was currently smoking a cigarette as he leaned back in his chair. He wore a well pressed brown suit and tie as he had a brown fedora on his head, he had short black buzz-cut hair and a 5 o’clock shadow on his face as he searched through papers.
“Damn it,” He growled he had way to much work to do, he was a government employee but mostly he was a detective who worked cold cases. He was currently going on a case about a string of murders that suddenly went cold, no body could find the culprit and as it went to long they gave it to him.
“Mister Wright there is a Phone call from a misses, Sophia Callister.” She called out as he recalled Sophia. She was a girl that awakened a few days ago what could be wrong he thought as he thought her awakening went well.
“Patch her through,” He said picking up the phone as he heard the voice of the girl.
“Mister Wright, I need you help. My friend here is awakening and we don’t know what to do.” He heard as he was surprised that would be the fifth awakening in the last weak in town, something to look into later.
“Don’t worry how much time does she got.” He asked as that was the key part when awakening, some people only get 1 minute if he remembered this girl had 3 hrs.
"She says its 25 hours.” He was surprised at that most people got around 2 to 10 hours.
“Alright I am on my way, Look keep her from doing things till I get their alright.” He said picking up his trench coat and heading out as he looked at his secretary, “Put all my calls on hold Ms. Freda.” He said heading out, when he wasn’t solving cases he would help the government at times like this.
