The day after Lucia's trip is mostly normal with her splitting her time going through reports in her going through new hires. Though there were no new breakthroughs in the case. The trip to Fletcher's club is a bust with Fletcher not saying anything of note. Other than the fact that he and However may have been friends from school. Though Lucia is hoping that she spooked him into trying to silence him. So that she can extract information and a reason to raid Fletcher's club. That opportunity would soon arrive soon after Lucia arrived home.
It is nearly eight at night and Lucia was in the library reading a book that was taken from the Brewer Family mansion. When she suddenly hears a creek behind her. She then immediately acts, pushing out of her chair, and spinning around. While drawing her pistol and putting the end of the pistol to the temple of an unknown man holding a dagger.
Before he could comprehend being spotted, Lucia pistol-whipped him. Causing him to drop like a rock to the floor. Lucia then takes a moment to look around the room for any more intruders. After finding none, she holsters her pistol. Turning around to the door opening, revealing Alex strolling in. Only momentarily pausing at the unconscious man in the room. “What's the deal with him?” Alex said, eyebrows raised.
Lucia could only sigh at the man's unfazed attitude toward what just occurred. “No clue, secure him and make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid. I have to talk to my head of security to discuss this failure.” With that Lucia walked past Alex to look for her head of security. A man that depending on his answers, may soon find himself out of a job.
After eventually finding him, there was a lengthy conversation with her security team, about their failures and her expectations. Though to be fair on their part. The mansion is rather large, and she has only three security guards. Which is something else that has to change. So, she can’t bring herself to be too hard on them. Much to her chagrin.
Though following that rather dull conversation, Lucia makes her way back to the room that she was attacked in. Carrying a glass of water that she brought from the kitchen.
When she arrived, the unconscious burglar was tied up to the chair and Alex was sitting in the leather chair close by. Lucia nodded her head as she approached the man, Alex getting up from the chair.
Lucia dumped the water bottle on the floor, cringing slightly at the possible wood damage. Though it was the easiest way to wake him up.
The water splashed on his face, rousing him from unconsciousness. The man was dazed for several seconds but soon found his barring, glaring at Lucia, he sent her a piercing stare. One that Lucia was unaffected by, as his current position made hard any threat behind it.
After giving the man the chance to speak Lucia decided to take the initiative. “So, what are you doing in my house, and what were you going to do with that dagger of yours?” She says, glancing at the dagger that Alex must have put on the table.
“Kill you.” The man growls. Earning him an eye roll from Lucia and a muttered no shit from Alex.
“Of course, but why would you want to kill me? I don’t think I have done anything that would warrant it have I? Have I done anything, Alex? Nah you haven’t been here long enough to answer that. Though I must say that this is a pathetic attempt on my life. So I guess that whoever I offended is unimportant.” Lucia says in a mocking tone, trying to earn a reaction from the man.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
The man snarls at that, and quickly snarls a response, “You know too much, Fletcher will have your head for what you did to his friend. He and his friends are more powerful than you can hope to be. . .” After which the man pales, realizing he just revealed Fletcher's role in it.
Lucia on other hand, smirks in victory, as she walks over to a desk in another part of the library to get a pen and a piece of paper. She then, after moving the dagger off of it, drags the table in front of it. Put the paper and pen in it. “Write everything down or else.” She says in a menacing voice that seemingly promises pain if not obeyed.
After he is finished Lucia takes the paper before handing him over to Alex to handle handing him off to the police. Even though Lucia could theoretically hold prisoners. There are no cells built yet.
Though back to the confession letter, which seems to be the truth. According to him, he is just a common thief who had been working for Ethan Fletcher. Doing minor jobs such as handling Ethan's alcohol transportation and other petty crimes, for the past several months. This was supposed to be a way to prove himself. Though he also seemed to have the beginnings of brainwashing going on. Though it was rather minor, Lucia was curious about his comment about Fletcher's so-called friends. Meaning that the New Bristel Social Club was now officially a place of interest, one that will eventually be raided. Sometime in the near future, though there wasn’t anything that could be done tonight. So, after arranging for the library to be cleaned up. Lucia took the confession sheet to the office at home. Before turning in for the night.

Lucia arrives at the office at the same time heading to her office, working for several hours, trying to go through the candidates for the numerous positions that needed to be filled. Along with a staff that is rather bare bones at the moment. Though at the moment, funding will only allow for 100 or so employees. That mostly comes from the weapons company that Lucia owns. Though that number should raise once a formal budget is to be given, at the start of a new fiscal year. Though Lucia isn’t sure how much money that will be.
So Lucia does feel a bit of pressure to deliver results to help drum up additional funding. Though with the current case, Lucia feels that she needs manpower now. Especially in soldiers, which number around a platoon at the moment. Have been strained with their various duties of security, and the several minor investigations going on behind the scenes.
With them mainly involving the investigation of monster reports and assisting unusual murders. With four already being solved and another three ongoing in the Bureau's short life span. Though only one of them actually involved the occult.
If Lucia remembered the report correctly it was some rural family cult that had been kidnapping people to sacrifice them. To try and bring a deceased family member back to life. It was something that Lucia found hard to believe until she looked at the book, which was a rather old necromancy book that compiled a list of similar spells of necromancy together. If Lucia remembered correctly, it was aptly if not a bit blandly named a collection of Necromantic Spells Volume 1. While being new, only being compiled in the mid-19th century, is still a very useful book. This book, along with similar compilations, are aimed at people who don’t have the time nor connections to acquire original grimoire sets or manuscripts.
Though by three in the afternoon, Lucia had to leave her office to go to a meeting with the agents involved in the current primary investigation. To go over events that transpired yesterday and her meeting with Fletcher.
Following this plan was made to put the New Bristel Social Club under surveillance for the next two weeks before raiding it for information. Though it may be sooner if Fletcher catches wind of the pathetic assassin's failure at killing her and his arrest. So, Lucia, has William go to the police to keep the arrest under wraps. Along with the heads up on the raid and a request for backup. Mainly in the form of maintaining the perimeter and a second floor to follow behind the soldiers.
Despite the casualties suffered in the ambush at Blair's house, are some of the best trained in the nation. That and from their recent training, they should manage to handle any threats they face with minimal casualties.
Lucia will also be joining in on this raid, as she doesn’t want to miss it this time.
The meeting lasts roughly an hour and a half. Ending with everyone confident in the plan.
