Newborn Calves are not Afraid of Tigers

Newborn Calves are not Afraid of Tigers

One shall get as one shall wish.

The New Year’s Day for which everyone was so eagerly waiting finally arrived.

For the set of acquaintances and friends who hold the annual New Years celebratory party together with Zi Ming’s birthday, this New Year added another reason for celebration.

They not only received news of the discipleship ceremony from Zi Yang, but also received an invitation for their “gracious presence”, as the invitation quoted, from Jing Huan’s house.

Everyone was amazed.

They were amazed that Zi Yang would be accepted as a disciple by Jing Huan before confirming if he could sense spiritual qi.

They were also amazed that a woman like Jing Huan, who had hardly showed her face in the community for no more than four or five times in almost two decades could send them an invitation to her home.

Even if they did not know much of the world, they could guess that she was probably more powerful as a beast master than all of them.

She has that “rich lady air”, as Zi Yang described during the daycare center interviews.

They were a lot more curious for this event than they were excited.

With such emotions, everyone arrived in ones and twos at the venue.

When the arrived at the door, two men and women stood at the door to welcome them.

They wore similar clothes with similar color tones – primarily black with gray overtones. There was some night pearls attached to their clothes and some embroidery which prevented the gray and black from showing off their depressing attribute.

As one pair of men and women led the guests in, the pair welcomed the others. With back and forth after a few times, everyone was led to the drawing room.

They were all arranged by the waiters to be seated on their seats, and finally given a gold- and silver-plated thin jade sheets which recorded today’s agenda.

The people were dumbfounded by the meticulousness and solemnity of the venue.

They were not shocked by the two pairs of waiters of the fabulous decoration.

Alright, they also admired the silk covers, exquisite carpets and; cushions and backrests of their seats which were so soft that a person could just melt into it.

Many people could imagine that they were probably sitting on hundreds of thousands of ancient country dollars if not millions.

After a while, the main guests for this day’s events entered together from one of the inner rooms.

Jing Huan was seen in the lead, Master Meng behind her followed by Miss Ling Yi and Lord Baize who entered with the Zi brothers and Mei Li.

Even though everyone was dressed well, four people looked particularly dazzling in the crowd.

Jing Huan, the two Zi brothers and Mei Li.

Jing Huan sat on the top seat, dressed in a simple cheongsam with free-flowing patterned cape over her shoulders.

The dark greyish on her upper robe was contrasted by white undertones on her sleeves, a translucent black cape and gradually fading textured grey on lower skirt.

The metallic belt with various complicated patterns, with dark red slender triangular cloth pieces over the skirt; added to the final touch.

Her eyes were as always dark and captivating, her face and lips as if squeezed together with the nectar and dew of a thousand flowers, and the hair on her back like the river of finest silk.

She could shine on mountains and rivers, yet still seem just an illusion of ethereal shadow.

There was no one was not amazed by her regal air.

Mei Li stood on the Zi Yang’s left with Zi Ming.

She was dressed in sky blue unique styled dress. A piece covered her shoulders and arms. A piece her upper body and a connecting skirt covering the lower body.

With cloth made texture-patterned on the shoulder to neck, and frills from above the elbow to the arm which they increased in size as the gas diffuses with distance.

The two layers adjoined near the bosom with a blue crystal brooch embellished with night pearls, moon pearls and purple corals smoothly adding shades as dusk and moon do to evening clouds.

The lower gown has common frills as any gown would, but in this commonality – one feels the free as the wind and light as the feather feeling.

Even her shoes were white and blue textured with underlines of black. As if they were made to stand on a cloud.

With her smart and lively eyes, and; the cuteness that shouldn’t belong to the world – Mei Li looked like an elf on the cloud – who goes as wind goes and lives as heart wishes.

To get a sensory feeling from a visual of a clothing amazed everyone.

The Zi brothers wore identical clothes and their clothes looked simpler but they looked equally splendid.

They wore royal-blue shirt with upper robes of the same color’s slightly darker shade. The upper robes were long and went until below their knees while the lower body was covered in pants.

A belt made of cloth and leather covered at the waist – tying the loose robe in a certain fashion.

The unique linings and patterns on left and right shoulders respectively heighted the sense of the dress.

Zi Ming’s shoulder had patterns of the sun, the moon and the stars which formed a unique pattern which looked a certain formation.

Zi Yang’s shoulders had patterns of the sky and the earth and everything in between. The air, clouds, lands, mountains and seas were also patterned into what looked like a formation.

Both of them wore pitch black shoes. Except for vaguely visible sheen and some patterns, the crowd could not make out much.

Their faces looked like finely sculpted spiritual jade.

The guests were amazed again and again.

It was only when the discipleship ceremony had already started that the guests had to reluctantly divert some of their attention to the event than the participants themselves.

They saw as Zi Yang sat the lower seat and served tea to Jing Huan and oh, look closely… Master Meng.

They did not discover Master Meng until now.

Why is Master Meng standing behind Jing Huan and being served tea too. Is he assistant teacher?

Ohhhh.

The crowd was shocked. They knew Master Meng was a distinguished potion master who was even sought after by the Void Empress’ palace.

He was willing to stand behind Jing Huan, which shows that Jing Huan must be stronger or more extraordinary than him in some aspects.

They always suspected that Jing Huan was a bigshot but they had never confirmed it until today.

But in all truth, they cannot blame themselves from not noticing Master Meng. He looks quite plainly dressed among this group of four.

After a while, the ceremony was over.

Both the master and disciple presented their gifts.

The crowd saw Lord Baize handing a set of clothing and accessories to Jing Huan along with some of the products usually sold by Zi Yang – some space fruits, some unique tea etc.

To, Master Meng, he also gave a set of clothing and some supplements along with some mind calming cedar incense and incense burner.

When the crowd looked at Master Meng’s dark eyebags, they all thought that Zi Yang was still thoughtful after all.

Jing Huan also signaled, following which Miss Ling Yi presented Zi Yang with a void ring.

They had to once again be amazed at it. They had heard of it.

Void ring can not only function as a connector to the void net and store products, void net can with the user’s permission or settings automatically deduct, ship or deliver products from or to within the void ring.

One only needs to think and store what needs to be transacted, everything is streamlined.

They also knew Jing Huan’s gifts would most likely be included in the ring.

They also did not have the heart to pry.

At worse, they would go back home and come to Zi Yang tomorrow to see what unique things are there. They are civilized people and can wait for a night.

Unless, the party ends early…

After the discipleship ceremony ended and everyone looked at the agenda recorded in their jade sheets.

They saw the next was Zi Ming’s birthday celebration, and obviously Zi Ming knew that too.

He had been waiting quietly for a long time and couldn’t wait any longer.

The crowd only felt as blur as they saw the little devil jumped onto Jing Huan’s lap, tried to adjust his posture to keep his left leg on right thigh but the cloth slipped.

He then held Jing Huan’s cape, swung it and shouted, “Elder Master, tell them young master wants his cake now.”

The crowd was stunned.

Has this kid eaten the heart of a leopard!

They could not imagine that Zi Ming would jump on Jing Huan.

Dark Void and Mystic Void were also horrified.

Sure enough, newborn calves are not afraid of tigers.
