Tara rushes towards the humanoid abominations with suprising speed and confidence, her blades swing and rotate around her at a pace too fast for the human eye to register.
Winter rushes to her side, holding the trigger of his pistol down, aimed at the ground.
Once they get within range, the abominations let out a loud, ear shattering screech, the sound reaching the van and beyond without an issue, the creature'a movements are maniacal as they start exerting fire out of all the holes in their body.
Tara dashes past the blazing abominations and makes her way towards the third one in the back, landing a swift side-kick to its head.
It quickly lets out a giant gush of wind, engulfing her and sending her stumbling back a few feet off the ground, yet she sticks the landing easily.
Ray holds onto Zayn's shoulder, watching in fear and doubt from the safety of the van.
"A-are you sure they can take those monsters down?!"
Zayn doesn't feel the need to respond, he simply continues watching in silence.
In a flash, Winter closes the distance between one of the blazing abominations, staring it down face to face before pointing the pistol straight to its neck, letting go of the trigger and unleashing a giant blast of atomic energy directly at it.
Once the smoke clears, Winter is unfazed, though his clothes become charred. The abomination lays on the ground beneath him, its upper body completely melted away.
He quickly jumps away from it as it begins regenerating at a rapid pace, the top half that was once turned to dust returning to normal in just mere seconds.
Ray looks startled, a shot like that would kill any regular person, yet that creature managed to withstand it, and is even regenerating itself as if nothing happend. Much to his confusion though, he hears Zayn chuckle.
"Missed the core."
"C-core?"
"Theres cores inside those creatures that give them their power. If those cores remain intact, they can regenerate themselves."
Ray looks at the winded abomination Tara is dodging.
"If thats the case... is the goal to break the core? And then it dies?"
"Yeah... most of the time." Zayn replies, seemingly distracted by his own thoughts for a second.
"Anyway... the cores could be anywhere. That's why Tara is just running around and kicking it. She'll know where it is because the skin is hardest there."
Ray nods, still watching over Tara.
Zayn looks back at Jake and Josh, who have been overhearing the converstation for a while now, chuckling because it seems like Tara forgot to untie them.
"Quit laughing jackass." Jake says, his annoyance evident on his face. Josh says nothing, still half-asleep and registering everything so far.
Suddenly, Tara quits moving and accelerates the knives rapidly, hurling them towards the side of the winded abomination.

It lets out an enormous rush of wind, the windows of the van rattling from the sheer power, but her knives remain in course, rapidly slashing all around the ribcage of the abomination in unison, she has located the core, and she now has to deal more damage than it can heal.
Tara quickly lets out a telepathic signal.
"Its about to blow up!" She yells loudly into everyones heads, still startling the boys from the unfamiliar feeling.
She grabs onto two of the knives mid air and stabs them into the chest of the abomination, before quickly jumping away, grabbing onto a third knife in the process, the remaining 5 still rapidly slashing at the core.
The abomination lets out a searing screech as the knives lodged on its chest start causing it to float upwards, the gusts of wind around it only worsening and going out of control.
Once she's gotten far enough away, Winter fires another shot at the first blazing abomination, this time hitting directly at its abdominals.
A huge, lasery explosion is heard, a wave of blue light engulfing both Winter and the abomination.
Without wasting time, Tara throws the knife she held onto rapidly, it travels way faster than Ray thinks should be humanly possible at the winded abomination, hitting directly at the side she was hacking at this entire time. This time, the core can be made out; its round and clear, yet with a hint of blue to it. Within seconds of spotting it, it explodes in the same, lasery explosion, its body parts flying everywhere, blood splattering all over the ground in large radius.
Ray's grip on the binoculars loosens as his face contorts in disgust at the sight before him, it seems that Winter's attacks will incinerate the abominations body, making a clean kill, but Tara clearly had to use less pretty methods.
Within a minute, a second blast of atomic energy goes off, the second blazed abomination gets its core shattered, quicky followed by Winter emerging out of the smoke once more.
"None of this is normal..."
Zayn looks back at him with a raised eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"I've seen Winter take on explosions that should have killed him multiple times..."
He pauses for a second, looking between Winter and Tara.
"And she's spoken into our heads multiple times... not to mention she makes things float."
Zayn sighs, not looking back at Ray.
Ray looks at him curiously, understanding that he's hiding something. He looks almost bitter at Ray questioning things.
Jake and Josh move besides Ray, wanting answers about what they've seen more than anything.
Zayn looks between them as Tara and Winter make their way back.
"Its none of my business to tell you what their deal is... but people without atomic energy... tend to have unique atomic reactions."
Jake looks doubtful.
"But Winter's gun fires atomic energy."
"It's a battery. The shell of the gun itself can be charged."
Josh perks up at the revelation
"Atomic energy batteries?! I wish i had access to those! They were so goddamn expensive back home." He says wistfully, fanboying over the uniqueness of the weapon.
Ray looks back at Zayn curiously.
"Why is your sword locked up?"
Zayn chuckles, staring back at his word in the front passanger seat.
"I'm not allowed to hold sharp things."
He doesn't seem to be too upset at having his weapon locked up, seeming understanding about the whole thing.
Jake stares at the lock with amusement.
"Why not?"
His expression changes, now looking regretful.
"You'll see with your own eyes soon." He responds cryptically.
Ray isn't too happy at the cryptic message, but he knows he lacks the power to do anything about it.
Winter and Tara tap on the window.
"Unlock the damn door."
Zayn groans defiantly and unlocks the doors, Tara and Winter coming back inside.
Zayn wastes no time starting the van back up and starting his radio back up.
"#5 Reporting. Two blazed abomations and one winded abomination eliminated."
The radio stays silent for a couple seconds before the voice from before speaks back up.
"#4 Received. Spark was trying to come help, i couldn't come because i had to keep her from rushing into no mans land."
Winter chuckles.
"No way you outran her."
"I had to use emotional manipulation via the assistance of food. By the way, Tara's cake mysteriously dissapeared."
Tara almosts jumps at the drivers seat.
"Bastard!"
Winter holds her back from the back of her shirt, and Ray can't help but be amused at how they went from fighting in cold blood to acting angry about cake.
The voice from the radio speaks back up.
"Anyways... Striker is expecting an audience with everyone you are bringing with you."
Winter lets go of Tara suddenly, letting her hit her head on the front seat.
"What do the brothers have anything to do with this?"
"I'm not sure. I dont ask questions."
Jake and Josh look at Winter worryingly. He stares back at them, not seeming stressed out.
"Looks like that mans intuition strikes again..."
