Chapter 2

Chapter 2

It was already night time, the moon was high. J watched like a hawk as the two entered the inn. He was currently crouched in an alleyway opposite of the inn, bathing in hatred. But no matter how much he hated them, he hated himself more. He hated himself for being so trusting, he should've known better. But what he hated most of all, was his lack of power to do anything about it. He looked down, depressed, forlorn at his own existence.

The winds blew, the clouds moved and the moon shine seemed as if it was banishing darkness as it spread across that particular part of town. However, to J, it didn't banish darkness but welcomed it. As the moonlight shone upon J crouched in the alley, head tilted and looking down on himself, he noticed something in the shadow was strange. Something ominous. He focused his attention on his shadow and the shadow surrounding him, and as the moon's shine began to move, J's eyes dilated. He heart beat increased, sweat poured and fear overwhelmed his being. Looking at his own shadow, he could see another shadow of a person stood directly behind him.

He turned around and came face to face with a pair of thighs. He slowly moved his gaze up to see a hooded figure, its face shadowed. J could not explain why, he couldn't see the man's face, he couldn't see anything except the outline of the man who was embodied by darkness with the moon on his back. But J could tell. J knew, that the man was smiling. Smiling down at him.

"You're mine..." he heard a hoarse whisper.

He turned and got off his feet prepared to run for his life. But when turned, the man figure was there again, in front of him. The man shimmered and the next thing J knew, was darkness.

J's body swayed left and right...left and right... 'I'm being carried huh...' He fell in unconsciousness again. He would slip back and forth a few times. Occasionally he would hear conversations.

"Why did the head bring him back?"

"Don't know, probably just a new toy"

That was the most J heard.

"UGGGG...WAHH" *splurt* J coughed up water, he was fully awake now, but soaked on his upper body. "What the hell..." He wiped his face and looked around, two lines of people formed parallel each other all looking in a single direction. They were straight and upright, they did not even take a glance at J. So naturally, J followed in the direction of the gaze, and found him gaze met by an overwhelming pair of eyes. It bore through his entire being, he shivered uncontrollably, but he didn't break eye contact. The pair of eyes seemed to smile, and the gaze increased its force. J was forced to break the contact and had to take a few moments to calm himself. He then took a better look at the owner of the eyes and his jaws gaped. It was undoubtedly the person who he met in the alley. The person's movement made J jump, his unconsciousness focused on every little detail of what he did. The man moved his hand towards his hood and pulled it back to reveal the features hidden my the darkest of darkness. J lost his face muscles, his mouth dropped, he panicked. The man...no... it was no man. It was a woman.

After several moments of silence, J snapped back to reality. He examined the features of the woman before him, long flowing red hair, a slender figure seen through the black clothes that wrap tightly across her body, a well developed chest and a weird beautiful yet terrifying face. *Gulp* He slowly eyed around, and saw everyone kneeling on their knees. 'So she must be important...' So he followed suit, and did the same. The girl smiled. It was a beautiful smile.

"Hey boy"

"..."

In a flash she squinted her eyes in annoyance at his silence, but as quickly as it emerged it also quickly disappeared.

"Do you know where you are?" Knowing that if he kept his silence, he could very well be in big trouble, J hesitantly replied.

"No..." On hearing his reply, the girl smiled, 'So he can talk after all...'

"This..." She paused as if to add in a dramatic silence."Is the most dangerous place yet safest on Atlantis."

"..."

"This... is the Assassin's Guild."

'Oh boy...' J thought to himself. I'm in trouble.

"And you, are going to be my first disciple."

'Oh christ...' I'm in BIG trouble. J was not the only one in an uproar, the people around him, Assassin's he assumed, were also in an uproar. But not as he thought, instead of complaining and voicing their concerns of him being a disciple of what he assumed was the head of the guild, they looked at him in pity but with a tinge of an devious nature. Chills went through his spine.

Hidden Profession: Dweller of the Night, Assassin

It has been said in legends ages past, in a time long before man, the 3 Goddesses battled against the Patron Saint of the Assassins, Nemesis. It was said that the 3 Goddesses could only barely manage to hold back Nemesis, the outcome of the battle however, was lost to history.

'...' Many things flashed through J's mind at the moment. The classes offered by Atlantis were varied but none were of the Assassin type. The typical classes were included like warriors, paladins, sorcerers, hunters etc. The closest class one got to the Assassin was thief. Which you had to start by being a mechanic then choosing the route of rogue and then the thief. Even then, thieves were only capable of things like traps, reconnaissance and such. They weren't very powerful players, but extremely useful in adapting to their surroundings and supporting their teams. J was extremely conflicted inside, he was both glad and suspicious. Glad that he had found a hidden class but suspicious that nothing ever truly comes without a price. That was what he learnt at the start of this game. *sighhh* he had no choice though, if he rejected it, he would be hunted down by assassins over and over again.

Do you accept the hidden class: Assassin, dweller of the night? Or are you prepared to be hunted down for ages to come?

'... ha..ha'
