George managed to kill a monstrous, ugly fish, with the help of the system. He did well in battle, however, it would appear that this fish had plenty of friends, comrades of his own, and these comrades behaved as if the blood of their friend went right into their noses, because they appeared in the scene immediately! Some of them were bigger than the others, some of the fish looked thinner like barracudas, but ultimately, he was in trouble here regardless of what size these fish were, because they didn't come here to talk!
If he engaged in battle now, these fifteen, purple monsters would have a good chance of getting the best out of him! He would get slaughtered, unless he put in effort to keep some distance away from them!
“Crab shit!” George cussed after he counted how many fish opposed him, and got anxious. “System!!”
In panic, he then asked. “Do I have any mana points, system?!”
[As of now, you have four mana points. You'll receive even more in a moment, because you're yet to harvest the rest of the essence that this fish has to offer!] She beeped.
“That's what I wanted to hear,” He sighed in relief, and within a blink, he attacked his opponents on sight. “Haha!”
Using the Paralyzing Angler's Bite ability, he attacked his numerous enemies as fast as he could. Big, phantom-like, blue jaws shone against the endlessly purple mist around him, creating a disturbance in the color scheme! He shot at them eight times before he ran out of mana, and each shot of his was dead accurate, purely because he was desperate enough to make each shot count! He paralyzed eight fish, only for a second, but he didn’t count on the inflicted paralysis to do all of the work, no.
This ability had Angler's Bite in its name, because it also inflicted a nasty bite. The name was very self explanatory!
The bites slowed down half of his opponents, they moved a lot slower now! A slow fish in a battle, was destined to die quickly, if not first!
Although George wasn't able to plan this far ahead, he figured out that these wounded fish were the easiest targets, so he kept attacking them! He rushed towards them before the other, healthy opponents could catch up to him, and managed to bite two of the wounded fish in mere seconds!
“Haha!” He celebrated, as he quickly obtained a single point of mana just a moment later.
Quick as a flash, he then shot at the couple of fast-moving monsters who had gotten uncomfortably close to him. He paralyzed them before they could get to him, and then bit both of them!
Now, he had four sources of Essence Points flowing towards him, mana included, and the latter was the most important type of essence that he could get right now. He quickly got seven more points of mana, and at this point, most of his opponents had recovered, so he had to launch a second wave of attacks against them if he was to survive!
George shot at his enemies as if he was a fully-automatic machine gun, and this was effective, because he paralyzed most of his enemies in a flash! He didn't even let them use whatever magical abilities they had, as they were too stunned to do so! However, before he could rush over to bite a couple more of them, he felt a sudden, sharp pain on his lower back which put his progress to a painful halt!
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
One of these monstrously muscular, five-foot long fish, had landed a bite on him. He was bitten on his lower back, and had most of his tail bitten off clean!
“Aah!” He yelled out.
George flapped around with whatever body motion he had left, and then paralyzed that very same fish that bit him, but the damage he suffered was already done, so it didn't matter who he paralyzed now. He was seconds away from dying off!
George wanted to close his eyes, and die, but he didn’t have eyelids, so he was staring his enemies down as they approached him. He expected to die quickly, but yet he didn't.
All of a sudden, he felt his tail again, he could move his tail, and thus, he had a lengthy tail to move with! He didn't know what was going on, but as far as facts were concerned, this was the only advantage he needed.
Since he had absorbed plenty of Mana Essence points up until now, he had all of the power that he needed in order to make an advantage for himself! He sprung into action.
In order to use as little of his brain as possible, he used the same old battle strategy that he used against his prior enemies! This strategy was very effective, it was proven to work, and he was still in a lot of pain now, so he couldn’t think of anything better.
George shot at them using the Paralyzing Angler's Bite ability, which slowed his enemies down significantly. Within the few seconds where he had the freedom to move around, he went ahead and bit his enemies, thus killing them one by one!
These monstrous fish had a lot of essence in them, so the advantage he had here, grew exponentially until the battle was over! He was superior, he had bit all of them without mercy, and thus, he had twelve sources of Essence Points pouring into him right now. He had already drained the essences of the first few enemies that the system killed, and now, twelve of these sources remained.
“Lucky! Yes, I'm very lucky!” He celebrated, “I’m not even gonna eat these gross, purple bastards! Let them rot, hahahaha!”
Inwardly, he hoped that there weren’t any more of these fish swimming around close by. He was sure that he would get the advantage over whatever enemy approached him, it was just that he was hesitant to get into another fight right now. One of these fish bit his tail off a moment ago, and he was yet to recover from the blunt, sharp pain that came with that bite, as he felt the pain in his bones, regardless of the fact that he had recovered his tail. He felt the pain in his spine!
“What happened back there, system? I lost my tail… how did I get it back?” He asked.
[I regenerated your tail, using 120 points of Blood Essence, and 65 points of Bone Essence.] The system answered, [The Flash Regeneration put quite a dent in your overall supply of essence, but it was necessary, because you would've died otherwise. Count yourself lucky that your body is very hollow, lacking in muscles too, and therefore cheap to regenerate, because this was what saved your life a moment ago! It would've cost hundreds of Essence Points otherwise!]
“I am the luckiest Assfish in the sea, then!” He added.
George kept an eye on his surroundings afterwards, because he didn’t want to get pounced on by any number of these monstrous, dungeon fish. He still felt the first-hand pain of being outnumbered, and he didn't want to experience it again!
The best idea was to harvest the essence of these fish thoroughly, spend a few more points to reduce the pain that he felt, and then, he had to start moving! He hoped that these purple dungeons wouldn't challenge him any further.
Eventually, he harvested all of the available essence from his dead enemies, and left their carcasses for the sea to take care of. The final result was good, despite all of the points that he spent during the battle!
[Blood Essence = 604 points]
[Bone Essence = 235 points]
[Mana Essence = 72 points]
[You've successfully assumed the one magical ability that these purple fish used. It's called the Burning Muscle ability, and it can be best used to increase your swimming speed, and overall agility!] The system explained.
“Hah! They were fast swimmers, but they couldn't kill me! Morons.” He grinned.
