Chapter 2 - Two whole ideas!

The system still refused to tell the host anything, like what a system was for example. She knew that he wouldn't understand, and therefore she didn't bother to explain stuff just yet.

When George spoke out, that aforementioned decision was sealed shut. “Magic? But I don’t eat magic. I eat planktons, and fish.”

He couldn’t nearly guess what the lady in his head was talking about earlier on, but the new neuron-cells across his brain, surely tried to put things together. There wasn’t much one could do with an IQ of ten-points, but he tried to make some use out of it nonetheless, as he had developed such a tendency over time!

[Looks like I still need to guide you, George. We need to invest plenty of essence points into your brain, or else you won’t survive for long...] The system added, she was honest.

“Okay,” He said.

The system tab which floated across his eyes, counted the total essence points which he collected. This tab wasn't so difficult to understand either, even George figured out some of the statistics after focusing on them for about ten minutes.

[Blood essence = 14 points]

[Bone essence = 9 points]

[Mana essence = 2 points]

“Very little mana points for me, I only see one number.” He said, and then took a while to form a question. “Should I eat more mana? I want a mega fart, like my grandpa, George the Old!”

[That’s sweet, you have your grandpa’s name...] The system complimented, she was excited that George could form decent questions now.

“False,” He abruptly refused the compliment, and then corrected. “Every assfish is named that way, even the women. The assfish world is George!”

[Okay,] The system said, and tried to sigh, but she didn’t have a mouth to do so.

There was no point in fighting about this. Instead, the best idea was to set a target for George to follow. He managed to finish a task before with an IQ that was close to zero, so the system figured that as of now, it shouldn’t be as difficult for him to follow straight, verbal commands.

[George,] She called for his attention, and then added. [You gotta keep killing things, anglerfish preferably. They give plenty of points, and you need all of them if you’re to improve, because you’re weak in every possible way!]

George was hesitant about that idea. He felt that he killed the prior anglerfish through some dumb luck, and he figured that it had to be just dumb luck, because most anglerfish here were known to be notoriously vicious, and agile! They had a reputation as such, so he didn’t want to know what it would be like to fight several of them within a single day!

Nothing about this deal sounded good, so he was very hesitant. Eventually however, he came up with an idea of his own!

“Listen lady,” George said, “If you promise that we can cross the magical barriers, then I hunt fish. I hunt all the fish.”

Of course he couldn’t form such whole sentences alone, his brain wasn’t nearly capable of that. The system within his hollow flesh, however, was equipped with a great ability to translate or decipher his words, so she filled in the gaps between his ambitious requests.

[Done deal,] She agreed, [You’re supposed to walk the lands one day anyway, so this deal is perfect!]

“Okay,” He relentlessly repeated that word, and swam across the waters with a slowly growing crave to hunt.

At first he had been nervous to hunt, as simply, it wasn’t the brightest idea for an assfish to hunt other animals that were nearly as big as them. It was suicidal in most cases! The best way to get a full stomach without risking as much, was to swallow a whole bunch of planktons from the ocean floor, and that was something that he did many times before.

It didn’t take much to feed an assfish, especially since their bodies adapted to fight starvation, and immense water-pressure. There was barely any flesh on him, for example, so he could survive without food for a long while! George didn’t need to hunt.

The system promised great rewards, however, so he had to give it a shot. With that single, and thin string of confidence, he later managed to kill another anglerfish without getting hurt!

It took no effort for him to harvest its essence, and now he couldn’t help thinking. “This is easier than I thought. I just gotta bite them, hahaha!”

He was excited, perhaps more than ever in his life. Assfish barely felt any emotions, so this experience was all new to him!

The system tainted his joy, however, as she added. [Good job, George, but I'm the one killing the fish. You do know that, right?]

“No,” He answered.

George was blunt, and honest, mostly because he didn’t have the cognitive ability to lie. Now he was just a little bit angry, and wanted to take his anger out on yet another anglerfish, but instead, he was interrupted again.

Equally bluntly, the system continued to explain. [I’m killing these fish, as soon as you bite them. It’s possible to harvest an enemy’s essence without killing them first, but you lose a third of their essence that way.]

“I’m losing too many points, then.” He said, and he was worried, even though he didn’t have the slightest understanding of math. “Okay, I fart on anglerfish. While they’re paralyzed I bite them many many times!”

That was unexpected of him, it was sudden, but even more shockingly, it was actually a good idea! The system was stunned that he formed an idea himself. With an IQ of ten, he shouldn’t have been able to make such a logical decision, not even by accident!

The system wanted to run a scan across his brain as a result, to figure out what was going on, but she couldn’t do so just yet, because she was occupied. She was to keep guiding George instead, and in this case, she advised him to use one of the magical abilities which he had recently stolen from his prey. It was better to use that ability, instead of using that paralyzing fart of his.

George could only oblige, especially after the lady in his head, yelled out until he paid attention. Once he tried the new power against yet another anglerfish, he figured out how good of an idea it was to use it!

George could activate the spell through a single thought, and when he did so, a stunning scene developed! A figure, which seemed much like an angler fish's wretched mouth, formed in front of him, and then shot towards the enemy!

It was blue in color, much like the essence of mana, and its use seemed great! This aggressive ability hit the anglerfish, and left a few bitemarks, which went half an inch deep into the angler fish's flesh!

Such a shot was effective, it interested him beyond bounds, however, it wasn’t enough to kill the enemy, so he had to keep fighting. He summoned it again, and with ease, the toothy, blue-mouth shot out towards his target once more!

A second later, the system announced both virtually, and vocally. [I didn’t tell you to use this ability twice, George! You just lost a point of Mana there, and only have one point left. Be careful with your Mana Essence!]
