Zona 12 News: "Two months after the sighting, China National Space reports fragments falling near its capital Beijing. On the other hand, the European Space Agency recorded an abnormal number of fragments in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean."

"Some netizens wonder why they have not yet fallen on this side of the world. For it is in North America that a greater flow would be expected, according to early predictions."

"Conspiracy theories are circulating on social media," he was interrupted by Yeinms Gonzae, one of the most popular contenders in the US.

"You must be kidding," he said with an air of supremacy.

"So how do you explain it?" I have exclaimed. "First the economy, everyone talks about a wa..."

"Don't rush to conclusions without evidence, today the United Nations will issue a statement," evading the question.

"Yes, that's true."

"In a few moments, we'll switch to the press room in the US with the director of the Chinese space agency."

In the background, a girl with whitish pink-purple hair watched the scene with a poker face and will shortly announce his candidacy for election.

"I instantly felt my phone vibrating, moving at inhuman speed, I answered," I made a small pause. "X-P, it's rare to receive a call, you always send voice notes."

"Check social media!"

Sliding the screen. "Girl falls from the sky, strange beings, terror in the capital," I read quietly.

Inside the convulsed streets of the CDMX (Mexico City), lined with billboards of the contenders, there's a poisoned atmosphere. From within that dense layer, a shooting star appears its destination, is the center.

Among the clouds, a figure, apparently female, appeared. "The climate has changed a lot since last time, I can assume, it is not produced naturally." —A large city full of flying cars and hundreds of people were filming this peculiar visitor.

"How am I supposed to move my joints?" Her new extremities didn't respond to the electric call from the girl's 9 brains. "It's been so long," she feared she had forgotten.

"Is it more like I'm still alive?" —Seeing her reflection in one of the mirrors. Her face was distorted in the continuous fall.

"Father still provides life support for me." After a few minutes of searching, I found the mental database, it was quite a surprise. Father wants me alive.

I disconnected my physical and psychic union with Father. Removing a tumor full of eyes near my belly button. "Finally, I am free!" I shouted to the four winds.

My enthusiasm lasted very shortly when I realized they were still falling. "I've counted over 100 individuals already." I cursed in a psychic tone.

After spending the last 20,000 years working. "

You know, we all get fed up at some point. I don't want to work anymore," she sobbed like a baby. "I don't want to be assimilated again and above all, I don't want, I don't want, if it dares to harm my sweet home again."

Lost in my thoughts, a loud thud snapped me out of my lamentations. I crashed into a strange floating structure "I'd say, or rather it's a primitive filter, it must be for this gray air."

The more I fall, the more devices I see. I turned my gaze when I saw the wreckage. "It broke down on its own if that's what happened. I tried to believe the lie."

"What will the inhabitants say?" That thought alone devastated me.

I landed abruptly on a metallic artifact surrounded by crystals and circles. "It seems familiar, remember, it was that time when we devoured that galaxy."

I squeezed the few neurons within me. "That civilization had something very similar. They called it a car."

"Overflowing with knowledge."

"Hey, are you okay, spinning back and forth?" She didn't return the response.

"Mmmm, we must not speak the same language, I used telepathy. She must have understood."

"Here, let me pass you your arm."

"It's not sticking anymore."

"Strange?"

I'll be doing something wrong. I still perceive cellular movement. Very rude of you. This was repeated with several individuals inside the car. "what a peculiar way of life."

Since the fall I heard a lot of noise. I thought about it a lot, it's their way of welcoming. I noticed a group heading towards my location.

I focused on the small group; They all wore the same symbol. I perceive hostile actions. It doesn't come from the nearby life forms.

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

The movement has ceased. You were dying. How did I not notice? I've seen it so many times. No, in those cases, I assimilated them.

I'll take your clothes. There's a clear distinction in the attire of both sexes.

They're approaching. These life forms will be killed.

"We are the fifth mobile battalion of the UN-M. Everyone inside, come out with your hands up and then get on your knees."

Quite a strange welcome. The data collected always show a trend line to an accident, sending doctors and officers.

As a quick response to preserve life.

Here, they do completely the opposite; they point a gun at me. They're afraid of something. Very peculiar, have they realized my nature? Judging by it, they are a type 0 civilization.

"Put your hands up, brat."

I'll play along."

"Is there anyone else?" Asked the soldier. I shook my head, closing my eyes.

"Hey, girl, my name is Saylent, tell me what happened."  I shrugged.

"She's traumatized, lieutenant."

"We have strict orders from high command; she might be one of them."

"Tell the people to disperse, Martinez." —The soldier aimed and shouted at them.

I looked into his eyes and placed it against his chest. A direct shot to his heart. "Answer the question." Releasing an annoying aura.

"Who does this life form think it is to treat me like this?" No, I've messed up.

"He's already here." I took him by the shoulder, showed weakness, felt fear, and didn't think I was so important to him. The words came out. "Dad is here," I said in a trembling voice.

"Saylent, what is this suffocating presence?"

"It's time to go home."

I let go of the soldier's grip and ran using all my strength. Desperation flooded me. "This is not right."

"Where are you going," —With a movement, the corporal immobilized her. She's squirming, kicking to break free. "She's terrified, commander."

"Everyone, aim."

"She has lost consciousness." —I am also feeling dizzy.

Everyone present fell to the ground.

"Why don't you freeze space-time, Father?"

"I'm glad you're not unconscious."

I made an effort, but there was interference. It could be due to the old junk.

"So you also felt the same interference."

"That won't stop my plans. There's no escape; let's just go back home and I won't harm this planet again."

"I won't go back."

"Reconsider it, you're a key piece for all of us, your years of experience are unmatched."

"I have already decided. After a long time, I have been able to regain my own identity. I yearn for the freedom you stole from me, and besides, all of this is very strange; you're just manifesting in our subconscious, you're not here, I know you very well."

"I wouldn't be so sure, but indeed, it's a couple of months before we reach Earth."

"When you're here, I will have found the ancient artifacts and will destroy you."

"Something is escaping you, wake up my daughter."

I regained consciousness, as did the other soldiers. I hugged Saylent. It was all a lie; there were no artifacts. The mere mention of it makes it suspicious; if it exists, I need to find it.

Two creatures appeared. "We have received the order to assimilate you back into the collective, 1099. It is for the good of what you consider your family. The humans."

"So that's what they call themselves, in a way, we are a distant family; we share identical biological traits," I said, looking around the city. "Humans."

"Eons have passed since these biological memories were encoded. Your home no longer exists," said a woman who appeared human, contorting as a row of teeth spoke from her stomach. "Your decadent species has long been relegated to the limbo of cosmic oblivion, Primogenitor. This material world is no longer your locus of existence.

Waves of decoded genetic information flooded my 9 brains. "The atlas of infinitesimal evolution of my distant cousins!" Images of human history passed before my non-corporeal eyes: bipedal apes, discovering fire, building the first cities, colonizing the stars... a meteoric evolution on the cosmic scale.

"This world no longer belongs to you; it is the apex of humanity now."

"Why should I care about some primitive cousins? This planet belongs to me by birthright. Why won't you let me be happy in my home? You should understand me; we are family, Father assimilated us and we became one. Don't you yearn for this feeling of independence?"

"We became a single collective and unified intellect, freed from the limitations imposed by the separation of the self. We abandoned emotional whims, tribal ambitions, and conflicts caused by subjective viewpoints."

"Why do you prefer that limited illusion of individuality over the glory of being one with the All?"

"I can no longer continue to be one with the All. I spent so long being a vital organ within Father that I once doubted what I really was. I clung to the remnants of my old singular identity. Because I cherish the freedom to discern for myself! To desire, to feel, to err... to live and to die! Isn't the finite beautiful, brothers?"

"The ramblings of a biological ego residue are pathetic. Very well, if you insist on rejecting us, at least reconsider this: we will kill all your cousins, and the Earth you love so much will be turned into a bloody moon. It will orbit Father for eternity."

"He said the same thing."

"Because that's what we are, one whole."

"Do not dare to harm my home!" The two humans transformed, and hundreds of tentacles emerged.

"This is our nature, predatory, I, 1099, together with father, are at the top of the food chain. My distant cousins have no chance, but now my old repressed emotions long to protect this primitive way of life. Is it because we are family? I don't fully understand it. A part of me sees them as cockroaches, in biological terms, compared to mine, it's like comparing an ant against, against that..."

Rising about 30 meters, the human girl transformed into a profane spider. "The enemy in front is a standard form of Father's invaders. It seems you underestimate me. Their weakness lies in the viscous and pseudo-membranous appendages."

They pounced on the nearest humans. With bifid tongues, they swallowed the unsuspecting earthlings from the continuous buildings. "You seek to increase your body mass. As if I would allow it."

I felt no empathy for those transitory creatures. My mind was focused on activating the deepest combat protocols of my being.

"Activate Asimov's genetic code." I opened the ducts of my oldest neural reserves. A cascade of hyperdimensional information flowed through my energy channels.

"Modulate construction patterns in my left forearm." The flesh dissolved and was replaced by layers of a quasi-living alloy.

"Execute bio-techno-tronic circuits in my nervous networks." I flexed my new biomechanized appendage. "Calibrate the curvature energy pulse."

"Ah, they're four times larger now, brothers."

"It's time to reclaim my home." I tried to smile, to mimic the human gesture I had observed on those corpses. What emerged was a smile, a disturbing parody of that expression.
