Zig walked up to the pavilion elder and handed him the scrolls. With a raised eyebrow at the fact I had handed him to he looked through them and said "are you sure you want to try and combine these methods instead of going with a tested method? ". In a serious tone the old man looked Zig in the eyes and said " most sect members use the foundation techniques as a way to speed up training instead of inventing their own like wild aspect warriors". "I'm sure" Zig said with more confidence than he really felt. "Fine then, follow me to your quarters" the old man said before turning and quickly leaving the building.

After twenty minutes of walking through the dusty compound they arrived at a large dorm building and Zig was assigned a room. "You have two weeks to make a copy of the scrolls and return them to the lore hall" the elder explained. "If you require food it can be purchased at the mess hall with pavilion tokens" he continued to go over the functions of the pavilion and that tokens could be earned many ways. The main ways were completing tasks for the pavilion and winning sect competitions. Luckily for Zig his elder handed him a badge that records his token that had a small balance of token. Once he explained the basics the elder said "Once you gain some basic control over your foundation technique ask the attendant at the task office for elder Craig". With that the elder left Zig alone in his room.

Excited Zig started to read through his foundation technique scrolls. Losing track of time he read through them both multiple times. His earth based technique seemed to be very simple and only required focusing on the thought of your body becoming a mountain while moving energy from his core around his body. With the scroll having a meditation method to control his core energy it seemed almost too easy to complete but his soul technique was the exact opposite. Instead of using his energy to control the earth aspect in his body this method wanted him to push his energy outside his body in an even filed around his. Not just that but he would have to focus on two elements at once. The first half pure darkness that hindered energy movements of other and the second half cold aspect water to leach energy from those effected.

Zig was overwhelmed on what to try first so he sat down and found his core like the meditation techniques showed. Looking inside himself he found his energy core with a slow pulsing light inside. Touching the light with his mind made it shift but didn't have an effect. Prodding it with his mind had little effect until he tried thinking about earth and a pail yellow brown glow came off the energy. With excitement Zig tried to pull some of the energy outside of his core and it partially worked. Only some of the energy would leave his core and once it did it slowly desolved. Trying this multiple times Zig noticed that only part of his energy was converted to earth energy when focusing. "Maybe only aspect energy can leave the core?" He muttered to himself Trying to focus his will onto the energy. After what felt like forever Zig was able to convert all the energy into earth energy and pushed it outside of his core. Opening his eyes Zig felt power surge throughout his body and his skin seemed darker than before. Standing up with a cheerful smile his legs gave out from under him and a great weakness came over him.

Gasping for breath Zig looked inside of his body to find no energy left inside his body and only a small drop of energy inside his core. "Too much " he weased to himself before passing out on the floor.

Waking up feeling like he had slept face first on a hard wood Zig cursed realizing that using all of his core energy at once caused him to black out. "I must have done something wrong I'd better go through the technique scroll again" standing up and walking over the table he seemed completely fine, actually the more he moved he realized that shoving so much earth aspect power into his body seemed to have a lasting effect. Studying his hands he didn't notice any color change like when he flooded himself with power. Shaking his head Zig looked through the basic scroll and after reading carefully it seems he was supposed to somehow loop the energy back into his core.

Sitting down in his meditation pose Zig forced on turning the ball of energy into a thread then converting it to earth aspect. After multiple attempts of trying he adjusted his method and converted the entire ball to earth before making the thread and successfully controlled the it. Threading it outside of his core was more challenging and the the further it went from the core the more unstable it became. After making the halfway done his arm the thread collapsed. "Ahhh" grunting in pain and frustration Zig decided to get something to eat and checking out some of the pavilions grounds.
