Wild Lands
It was Saturday Morning Liu Feng got his dantian filled up to 90% already, today was the day he is supposed to make a breakthrough into Qi gathering 2.
“Let’s do this hopefully it won’t be as painful as breaking into Qi gathering 1”
90%…..100% “Phew, I didn’t even feel a thing”
Liu Feng got up and stretched around trying to get his body use to Qi gathering 2.
He didn’t just get into Qi gathering 2 he also got deva boost to the middle stage, when boost cultivation gets to the next stage it normally increases the cultivation gained.
“I will only be able to cultivate tomorrow and see how much it increased from the original 10% boost, I will also have to find the remaining deva boost for the late-stage and the peak stage”
Liu Feng went to go have a shower as his body releases impurities from his skin after this breakthrough. And since it was the weekend he was supposed to meet Lei Jun at the West Gate of the Stronghold.
He got dressed and went ahead to the west gate.
“Hey Lei Jun over here!!”
“My brother you are late again, what is with you and always being late”
“Sorry I overslept again,” Liu Feng said with a smirk
It’s not the Liu Feng wanted to hide that he broke through to Qi gathering 2 but instead wanted to surprise Lei Jun.
As they walked to the sentry at the Gate where they had to get their cultivation checked they came across multiple cultivators all waiting for the gate to be opened so that they could go out into the Wild Lands so that they can hunt for Wild Beasts. Both Lei Jun and Liu Feng queued up to as they patiently waited for their turn.
The sentry guard looked at them and brought a scanner pointed at them as the minimum requirement to go out into the wildlands is Qi gathering 2.
“Mr sentry my good brother is only at Qi gathering 1 but since I am at Qi gathering 2 can you make an exception,” Lei Jun asked the sentry.
“That won’t be necessary you can proceed with the scanning” Liu Feng interrupted and said.
Lei Jun was perplexed as to why Liu Feng said that and when the sentry pointed the scanner at Liu Feng it said Qi gathering 2 Lei Jun got a shock of his life.
“Bu…but..but..how you were at Qi gathering 4 days ago”
Liu Feng immediately covered his mouth and dragged Lei Jun out of the gate and into the Wild Lands.
“I just broke through today morning and the reason as to why I broke through in 4 days is a secret for now and I will tell it to you soon don’t worry, I Just don’t want to implicate you,” Liu Feng said seriously to Lei Jun
“You have known me for so long and you are my brother even though we are not related by blood, let me just tell you something even if someone tortures me till I die I will not say a single thing but no worries just tell me when you are ready,” Lei Jun said solemnly to Liu Feng.
Liu Feng was always an orphan and it was a label given to him by others and in time he came about to accept the label but he failed to realized that he was not an orphan at all, bonds don’t have to be by blood. He always had a brother by his side all along.
Liu Feng walked up to Lei Jun and gave him a big bear hug.
“I’ll tell you about my circumstance soon and thank you for always seeing me as your brother,” Liu Feng said.
“Come come let's go hunt us some wild beast and don’t say stuff like that next time you make me teary-eyed,” Lei Jun said as he sniffled.
They could only hunt wild beast around the outer areas targeting either the Qi gathering 1 beasts or the Qi gathering 2 beasts, any higher than they would be seeking death.
They were scouting for about 15 minutes looking for potential prey avoiding any wild beasts which have a higher cultivation than them.
And finally, they came across a savage rabbit with a cultivation of Qi gathering 1.
“Brother we don’t have any martial skills for attacking neither do we have any weapons we have to plan this attack out properly,” Lei Jun said
“En I have an idea lets try it, first I will walk up to the rabbit and gets its attention it probably will try to attack me so I will run away and pass that boulder. That is where you will be hiding behind the boulder, once you see me pass prepare your strongest tackle and tackle the savage rabbit. When that is done I will immediately turn around and pin the savage rabbit down and then we both will start pummelling the savage rabbit till it dies. Got it?” Liu Feng slowly said.
“En lets do it your way”
Both of them got into position, and Liu Feng ran out in front of the rabbit, and just as expected the rabbit chased after him he immediately started running towards the boulder which Lei Jun was hiding behind. As soon as he ran past the boulder.
“Now” Liu Feng shouted to signal Lei Jun
Lei Jun tackled the rabbit as hard as he could, Liu Feng immediately turned around and pinned the rabbit down.
“Wait why is it not struggling, the f**k it is dead!!” Liu Feng exclaimed.
“What the hell you tackle killed it!! How strong is your tackle?” Liu Feng asked Lei Jun.
“Ummm it must be from the boost skill which my dad got me to practice which increases the strength I can give out using my body by 5x each stage I reach with my boost skill and since I got it to the late stage my strength is increased by 15x and an average person. But even I did not expect to kill a savage rabbit with one tackle.” Lei Jun said as he scratched his head goofily.

“Damn brother, whoever messes with you will definitely regret HA HA HA and what is the name of your boost skill?” Liu Feng asked.
“Mine is the
“But sadly my boost skill is incomplete and can only be cultivated to the middle stage,” Liu Feng said sadly
“The name of your boost skill is called the deva boost right? I’ll try asking my dad if he ever heard of such a boost skill and see if he knows the whereabouts of the other stages of your boss skill” Lei Jun reassured him.
“Thanks, thanks, come let us go hunt some more wild rabbits using the same method I attract and you tackle”
They returned back to the stronghold around evening, with a harvest of 24 savage rabbit fur. They had to skin the rabbit immediately once they killed it as neither of them had an interspatial ring to store the rabbit carcass.
They both happily went to the merchant station nearby the west gate to sell their harvests.
“Nice we got a total of 12 white drams for the savage rabbit fur lets split it half-half,” said Lei Jun
“Than I won’t be polite thanks a lot,” Liu Feng said happily as he kept the 6 white drams in his pocket.
As he was walking home Liu Feng contemplated how he was going to get to Qi gathering 3.
“I have decided since accumulating money will be too slow for me to able to purchase a grade 2 Qi gathering pill, I will just save up the money for any expenses in the future. And I will breakthrough using my own cultivation cause I don’t really need the pills as my cultivation is insanely fast compared to a normal person thus only they need pills but not me” Liu Feng thought and set out a plan for himself.
He decided not to use any pills at all throughout the Qi gathering realm unless he gets the pill but he will not actively search and try to get one because while hunting today, he realized that he was pretty much useless as he was only acting as bait. While Lei Jun did all the heavy lifting, he needed to save up money to buy a weapon as he cannot be relying on his brother all the time and need to do things by himself.
As he reached home he immediately switched on his laptop and started searching for suitable weapons he could use.
Guns became obsolete ever since people started cultivating as guns would not work on wild beasts as their fur is too thick as well as anyone above the realm of Qi gathering. Thus humanity opted to use cold weapons as these weapons are merely an extension of the user allowing tremendous amounts of force to be generated while using the weapons.
Liu Feng never thought that he would be needing a weapon his entire life as he never thought he would be walking the road of a cultivator. Scrolling through the online market place he realized that there are a ton of categories of cold weapons say for example swords, sabers, staffs, and spears.
There were also many unusual weapons which branches of the main weapons while scrolling the cheapest weapon he could find was the staff which was being sold for 5 green dram which was 500 white dram it was a lot of money but since he did not have to use pills to cultivate he could just save up for the staff and the next thing he would need would be an attacking martial skill. Searching in the market place he came across tons of attacking martial skills but he had to find one which uses the staff as a medium.
“The staff has about 40 attacking martial skills on sale and the cheapest one is being sold for 15 green drams, dammit it so either way I have to save up 2000 white dram if I want the staff and the attacking martial skill. But thank god I don’t need pills to cultivate if not my expenses will be insane” Liu Feng sighed.
Liu Feng realized that the road of cultivation is not cheap, but he had his goal in mind which was to cultivate daily and break into Qi gathering 3 as well as save up 500 white drams so that he can buy the staff which would allow him to hunt more efficiently without relying on anyone.
The next morning Liu Feng woke up and carried on with his same routine, after cultivating his dantian was now 35% filled this made him extremely happy because his boost skill increased from 10% to 15% which will allow him to cultivate and breakthrough faster. Anticipating his arrival to Qi gathering 3 he smiled from ear to ear.
As he was walking to school for his Sunday class he realized that he did not have to spend 15 green drams to buy an attack martial skill for the staff, he could just return the deva boost and collect another martial skill as the elder told him he would allow him to change as soon as he realized that the boost skill was useless.
And after using the jade talisman he realized that it was no longer emanating any red Qi and to test whether he was the only one who could see it he asked Lei Jun if he saw anything but Lei Jun said he could not see anything weird about the jade slip. This confirmed Liu Feng’s theory that he was the only one who could see the red Qi.
Liu Feng went straight to the marital building when he reached the school to exchange the deva boost for an attack martial skill and since he already cultivated a deva boost to the middle layer he had no use for this jade slip.
He just had to lie to the elder stating that he did not learn anything and that his skill was useless, Liu Feng was a bit hesitant to carry out his plan as he felt that it was wrong to cheat the elder who allowed him to exchange the jade slip out of goodwill.
“Do not hesitate to survive in this world you must do anything” Liu Feng talked himself into doing it.
As he entered the martial building the elder saw him and asked, “are you finally here to exchange that useless boost skill to another skill?”
“Yes elder, I realized my mistake and I was too hasty I should have listened to you from the start” Liu Feng said gloomily
“No worries boy as long as you learned your lesson early there will always be a chance for redemption, come give the jade slip and go take another one,” the elder said in a caring way.
“Thank you elder” Liu Feng said as he gave back the jade slip containing the deva boost and bowed properly to the elder.
Liu Feng then went to find an attack martial skill for the staff. The elder looked at the jade slip and went to put it back. As Liu Feng was searching for the attack martial skill for the staff he came across only one. As most of the attack martial skills were meant for swords, as the sword was a very popular weapon.
He was excited as this would allow him to immediately go out and hunt some wild beast even though he did not have a weapon just by using his fists. He took the jade slip and went to the counter where the old man was stationed, and handed the jade slip to the elder so that he could register it.
As soon else the elder saw the jade slip Liu Feng took he smiled and said “this eight ethereal strikes attack skill is a very good skill, learn it well boy” and he handed the jade slip back to Liu Feng.
Liu Feng then placed the jade slip on his forehead and allowed the information to flow into his head. He then thanked the elder and walked out of the martial building for his classes. After school ended he immediately rushed home to practice the eight ethereal strikes, there was a total of eight strikes and the first two strikes would be the early stage and the third and the fourth strike would be the middle stage with the fifth and the sixth strike at the late stage finished with the seventh and the eighth strike at the peak stage.
He first focused on the first strike which was to lash out his fist from an inward to outward motion hitting his target using the back of his hand.
Since he did not have a staff he could only practice using his fists which was applicable with this attack skill, and even though he does not have a staff to practice with as long as he reached that stage in the attack skill he would be able to replicate it using a staff.
“98..99..100 huff” Liu Feng sat on the floor his body covered in sweat. Practicing 100 of the first strike a day was the limit his body could handle. With this new attack skill in his arsenal, his schedule would be cultivating in the morning and practicing the eight ethereal strike in the evening.
