Chapter 2 | I Am Leonel

I’m Leonel Martin

I was just your average joe when I got summoned to another world, and with magic.

Turns out that the summoning was done accidentally when an experimental rune was activated

So, now stuck on another planet, I decided to use this opportunity for a better life

I became a renowned blacksmith and for a long time that is how I lived.

“I need to speak to Sir Martin!”

I snapped out of my trance and looked at the counter in front of me.

“What’s up?”

“Sir Martin, the prince has requested your presence”

“Why?”

“Well sir, it has to do with the recent rumor about the Fallen Star”

“Oh, I see, tell him I am coming”

“Right away sir”

I rubbed my forehead and got up from my seat.

After closing up each room in the workshop I turned the front sign to display “closed” and exit, locking the door behind me.

I walked through the city, it was almost night so not many people were on the streets but the few remaining wave and smile.

Finally I arrive at the prince’s home, I put my hand on the doorbell rune and inject mana into it.

The gates open and I walk in.

“The prince is in the conference room down the hall and to the left,” one of the maids at the door told me.

“Thanks” I replied while following her directions

I opened the door and closed it behind me.

"So, what seems to be the matter, your highness" I said jokingly.

"Despite how much I dislike continuously asking for favors from you my friend, I need to ask for another"

"If it wasn't for your favors I would probably just sit at my shop, all day, everyday. It's fine really"

"Nonetheless, I dislike it. Anyways, I have mounted an expedition and I want you to join it"

"So the Fallen Star is real?"

"Yes, it is. You see, my scouts describe the star as made from a material they never seen before, I want you to find out if it's truly made from an unknown material and retrieve it"

"Not a problem, I will join your expedition."

"3 days from now at the southern gate. Thank you"

"Goodbye"

I walked home.

"I'll have my shop closed the day before, meanwhile I need to pack…" I trailed on, speaking to myself.

Three days passed and I walked to the southern gate.

There a group of adventurers, fellow blacksmiths, and a few jewelers hanging around on the side of the gate

I walked towards them and asked "Is this the prince's expedition?"

A young adventurer answered

"Yes this expedition was put together by the prince, you're joining us?"

"I am. Is this everyone?"

"Just a few more stragglers. The prince will send us off once everything is ready"

I spent the remaining time getting to know everyone else.

"Alrighty! Now that everyone is here, let's be off!" The prince proclaimed.

Slowly, we filtered out of the southern gate and piled into caravans and went down the road.
