Chapter Nineteen - Interlude - Provence Route

Chapter Nineteen - Interlude - Provence Route

I was in that accursed town again.

Ironic that it would be my dream place yet here, now, all was encompassed in a sense of abnormality. I left this place a long time ago, and for some reason I was here again. It was getting foggy, and it was snowing already though no layer of snow would settle at all on any surface.

I had the sense that came here with someone, but she was not with me anymore. Not since I woke up in this familiar yet strange place. I walked further, apprehensive to enter this town, but I had to find her. My heart was beating hard.

-Provence!

I shouted her name again and again, but she would not answer me if she heard. I continued to walk. The sun must have passed somewhere over the mountains since the town was enveloped in a dreamy like blue haze. I thought I saw a shape to my right, and as I gazed I saw her.

-''Provence!'' I shouted as my heart started to beat so palpable to myself.

She was slowly walking towards that all engulfing blue haze, deeper in that lost town.

-''Proveence!'' I shouted desperately.

I started to run after her but as I did, she was already gone. No matter how fast I ran or deep I entered that mist I could see her nowhere.

-Proveeeence!

I stopped in my tracks. I felt desperation taking hold of me just as the town and its blue haze engulfed me in its trap.

''No, my lupa. God dammit I can't lose you! I can't!''

I was desperate, and I couldn't think of a solution. I couldn't think at all, as if my mind had a block against it. I stood there wallowing in desperation and anger. I felt as my soul, the being of who I was would dissipate if I stood any longer in this cursed blue fog. I breathed hard and looked up.

Suddenly I awoke in my bed, with a beautiful and warm creature snuggled tightly around me. I realised it was Provence and that I only had a damnable nightmare. I squeezed her onto me as I felt the peace and fulfilment one could only have with one's partner and soulmate. I was so relieved I had her in my arms at that moment.

-''Tacet?'' She spoke in a low voice, having just woken her up.

-I love you Provence.

-''I love you too.'' She said, forcing those words out against her sleepiness.

It was later when she woke up naturally as well that we spoke more.

-After our first night, what made you contemplate leaving?

She seemed a bit taken aback by such a serious question at the beginning of the day.

-I just thought of where it would lead. My oripathy affecting our bonding and our future children.

-I... could only think a tragedy would unfold if I continued.

-You have such a bright soul and a positive spirit to have thought like that.

-I am also a catastrophe messenger. It is my job to correctly assess patterns.

-Tacet, where are you going with this?

-Nowhere. I just wanted to know.

-Did you have a bad dream, my mate?

-Yes.

-What was it about?

-''You were gone. You walked away, and I lost you forever.'' I related with heavy words. She could tell how deeply it affected me.

-''This lupa will never leave your side Tacet.'' She said confidently.

I brought her closer to me and I snuggled her in my arms. She looked at me, smiling happily, and then I caressed her lips with mine. Later after breakfast Provence was laying on my bed like she owned it, looking at me with interest as we spoke.

-It wasn't something normal that incident then, was it?

-It was not.

-What was it?

I hesitated for an answer, trying to think of the best way to explain it.

-You see these scars.

-You don't survive such... close encounters without seriously sharpening your survival instincts.

-And then my survival instincts clashed with my will.

-''But why? Against what?'' Provence asked genuinely, wanting to know.

-Because of who I was carrying.

-Franka... but she isn't a lupo.

-It didn't matter, she looked like it.

-And in the end my instincts couldn't be fooled. It's as if it knows like I do that I am the only human left.

-But how could it mess with your heart like that?

-I guess the trauma was that deep, and I was too close for too long to one of you.

-''You've been living on the edge since you came here.'' She said with guilty words, as if she was partly at fault.

-I wouldn't put it that way, but I got around it.

-How much did you suffer when you carried me back from that ambush?

-It spiked me, I felt it. But I somehow willed my heart to beat right again.

-Contemplating the thought of losing you was more painful than anything else. I loved you too much to have stopped.

I brushed her large tail that was between us on the bed.

-You downplay it. There was a struggle close to death inside of you.

-And I've beaten it.

-''I'm happy you did so.'' She said, smiling at me.

-You are quite messed up Tacet. To have a phobia of my kind and a fancy to it at the same time.

-No, not anymore, you helped me overcome that aversion.

-What if one day I remind you too much of it?

-I moved on because of you, nothing will change.

-''I don't know Tacet, what if one day I'll lose control?'' She said as her mood suddenly changed drastically. I could feel it through her body language, and I couldn't explain why.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

-What if my primal nature takes over and... I actually assault you?

-Wha-

She cut me off as she suddenly assaulted me! This violet lupo sprang onto me with great force, tackling me off the bed and down onto the floor! Her strength was incredible compared to a normal human girl, even one who would have been in top shape. I found myself unable to resist her, taken by surprise as I was. Nor was I able to get her off of me. She had already caught her prey, and it would be impossible to separate her off of me without her own will.

-''What will you do when my instincts get the better of me, Tacet?'' She asked in a deathly serious tone. She was close to my neck, too close.

-I would stop you or I would fail.

-''You failed. What if I was tempted to prey upon you now?'' She asked ominously, with an intensity that made her tremble with anticipation of what was to come. I could feel her... ferocity. And I had a pang of worry.

-''I won't harm you.'' I answered but she continued regardless.

-All your past and your trauma would come rushing back in your last moments of life.

-''No!'' I growled out my answer in defiance.

She suddenly came onto me! I instinctively knew where she was aiming. She clenched her fangs onto my neck and I instantly knew this could be the end! I didn't know what had gotten over her. Yet she was the lupa I loved, nothing would change that. I accepted who she was a long time by now.

Instead of resisting in futility I did what felt the most natural thing for me. I embraced her. My left arm wrapped around her while my right hand came upon her head between her fluffy ears. Not to pull her off, but to hold her head tightly against me to finish the deed she was intent upon.

-''Aaah!'' I screamed in pain.

I felt her biting hard onto my neck, piercing it. Something warm flowed down, and I wondered if I truly would lose my life to the wolf girl I loved. If... the oldest fear would come true. Fate, dark humoured as it was would have the last laugh if so. But it would not change my love for her. I accepted that risk when I accepted what I felt for her. I only wished we could have been happy together for longer.

The pressure on my neck suddenly stopped. It was painful but far from the pain I would have felt if her intent was brought to its end. Against my hand which I was pushing her head onto me, I felt an opposite force. I ceded the strength of my arm, and she backed her head away slightly.

Then, I felt her licking my wounds, cleaning my neck of my blood. She clamped down just for a few seconds, sucking on it as if to taste and savour my life essence. She pulled back and brought a handkerchief from her pocket, wiping her lips before covering my two bleeding wounds.

-''I haven't pierced anything vital.'' She spoke as she looked me in the eyes. She seemed mellowed, at ease and content. And I probably looked a bit dazed.

-I felt no change in your body language.

-You would embrace me like that while I took your life?

-''It's not like I could have stopped you at that point, I'd rather feel you one last time in my arms.'' I answered her.

She was wagging her large tail. She seemed happy.

-So. Was it your instinct flaring, or you just wanted to test me?

-''I'm sorry, I'm not sure what came over me.'' Provence spoke in a mischievous manner with a smug look on her face.

-''You cheeky lupo!'' I grabbed her as I reversed the roles.

-Hyaa! I'm sorry! Forgive your lupa, Tacet~!

She pleaded still in a playful and insincere manner. Her smug and amused look still plastered on her face. But as I was towering over her a drop hit her cheek. I realised I was still bleeding.

-''Let me tend to you, pack leader.'' She offered with more sincerity in her voice.

I relented, and in a few moments she was cleaning and covering my wounds with a special bandage.

-''I'm sorry, I took it too far.'' She said sincerely.

-Were you satisfied with my reaction?

-It spoke the truth of what you said before, I could feel no rejection from you.

-How did you like my blood?

-I'm not a vampire but... it is an intimate thing to know your partner's taste.

As she was done tending to my wounds I suddenly grabbed her, pulling her down. I was upon her now as I kissed her forcefully and passionately. She was submissive and accepted my attentions to her.

-You are one wild lupa, you know that?

-You love me the way I am though~.

-''You know I do.'' I said after I gave a light chuckle.

-Tacet... did it felt thrilling being assaulted and bitten by a lupo such as me?

-... perhaps.

-You're so twisted my lover. Is that why you have a bulge poking me?

-Only for you.

-You are truly quite a messed up human, I am glad to have you as mine.

I came closer and whispered into her fluffy ear.

-I am going to ravish you without mercy tonight.

Her long tail bristled at those words filled with intent.

-Why not now handsome?

-I want to fill you with both unease and eagerness of what will come. I'll make sure you won't be able to walk straight in return for your little prank today. That, and you'll be carrying twins after tonight.

-''You absolute monster!'' She declared though in a joking manner before she asked further.

-Do you want human offsprings Tacet?

-I will be happy whichever you will give me, but I believe we will only have pups.

-''Whichever race they will be I know they will be mighty handsome after their parents though.'' I said, giving a wink to my lupa, and she beamed up at me.

I pulled her on my lap and caressed her bare legs. Soon her large tail coiled around us and I took to stroking it gently. I looked at my lupa as I tended her with my attention. Like the animals of old she seemed to enjoy it more than usual of normal people. I indulged her, and then I caressed her beautiful fluffy ears.

-Mmmmh. This is relaxing, you sure know how to hit a wolf's spots.

-How does it feel to have marked the last human on Terra as yours?

-Not as fulfilling as knowing the wonderful man you are.

-Smooth~.

We relaxed together as I continued to slowly caress her beautiful body. I would squeeze her generous bottom before going on long strokes along her legs, then back. Taking a different route and going next by her fluffy tail instead.

-''You are quite enamoured with me.'' Provence spoke happily.

-What is not to like at you? Your beauty is only equalled by the brightness that is your person.

-You alleviate and bring me up so easily. I sincerely never thought I would be this happy with someone. I believed I would be content in my solitude for the rest of my life.

-''We're fortunate we proved that wrong.'' Said Provence.

-''Let's go for a stroll on the surface.'' I proposed

-''I think I know just the place for something today.'' She added eagerly.

Her arrow had pierced the head that I just shotted just a minute ago. She reloaded swiftly with the easiness of someone who had wielded the crossbow for a lifetime. In two seconds she was already unloading her second arrow, hitting the far off target in the distance. It was a hit.

The third was just as swift, and it impaled the fast moving target mid-distance. The fourth was a tricky one. It was a target that moved zigzag and away fast, it would only be present for five seconds. Yet her arrow had hit it straight in the chest in the last moment. It was our tenth shooting round that day, and so far I had won the match. Leading with all ten matches won against her nine. The seventh match was a long and difficult one that saw her arrow only graze and pass by on the more difficult armoured target that had special small spots which had to be hit.

-''I have lost.'' Declared Provence before she continued.

-I take my defeat with grace. You can punish me however harshly you deem tonight in the bedroom.

At that statement some of the operators around us were bewildered or taken a bit by surprise.

-You didn't have to say it so openly but don't you worry, I haven't forgotten.

-Also, I never said that you should be punished in my bedroom. Maybe I have a punishment even more devious and meritful of you.

-''How kinky can this get?'' I heard Exusiai whispering to someone.

-''Oh please not on the balcony again, someone might see!'' Said Provence, playing the act.

And at her response I heard someone choke on their drink.

-Hah, alright, this was fun, want to get a refreshment?

-You bet!

We both holstered our weapons behind our backs and took our leave from the topside firing range that day. I thought it sweet how Provence was holding onto my arm as we walked together. It was now the latter part of the day, having arrived back in my apartment and taking a shower together.

It was as if watching the waters of life slip by on the godly body of an ever youthful and beautiful deity. I took great delight in washing her back and groping her slippery and soapy breasts. So voluptuous and pleasing to a man's senses. Her body so shapely it was impossible to resist her as a man.

-You look so bewitched my lover.

-You captivated my mind and soul, you beautiful creature of nature.

-And this lupa fell for you, my brave human.

I pinned her against the shower room's wall as I kissed her lips passionately.

-Do you enjoy the kind of your nemesis you saved from death?

-I cherish your life, my dear lupa.

-Cherish me forever~.

We kissed passionately again, but we decided against any fun stuff in the shower. As much as we would have liked it I slipped one too many times. Things had to be thought out properly before doing such things. As we got out of the shower I had taken her up in my arms and brought my fresh lupa to my bed. I was laying my hands on her, exploring her body like it was our first time. I kissed and caressed my way upwards from her legs until I was reaching her neck. She turned around to greet me gladly and our lips joined. She loved this long prologue of attention and playfulness, and she knew what was coming.

-''Please, have mercy on this lupa.'' She spoke only half playful this time.

-Are you afraid?

She whimpered as an answer. I rubbed her head and caressed her ears. That put her at ease. But as I pushed her down and opened one of her legs away she was unsure though eager. I wouldn't spare her nor would I go back on my words. An hour later Provence was sore and pouting.

-Feed me! Carry me! Take responsibility, I can't walk straight!

-''Alright, alright, I'll pamper you.'' I comforted as I carried her to the living room, settling her on the couch to watch a movie.

-I can't believe you went so hard that I nearly fainted!

-''It's alright, I knew you could take it. After all I know who I took as a mate.'' I said with a straight face though inside I was smug and cocky.

-''You beast~!'' She punched my chest jokingly even though a bit hard.

-I think I have just about the movie.

It was a classic of sorts. Its trilogy was well-received along all generations since they were made. And it was not something reminiscent from my past. It was a fictional setting. With all the folklore and imaginations the western culture at its peak could produce.

-What did you have in mind?

-''Something of an old gem.'' I replied.

-Oh?

-There was once an author named Tolkien. He wrote some incredible books that were adapted to movies.

-And this Fellowship is the first?

-Yes. Get comfy, you'll get into an adventure.

I went to my special wooden cabinet and opened it. There I perused the bottles of strong liquor and I chose a very fine and high quality rum. I brought it to the kitchen where with it, I prepared two steaming cups of tea's of a rarer blend, with a unique flavourful aroma.

She covered my lap with her large and heavenly fluffy tail, and I stroked it gently. It was such an incredible sensation to the touch. As I looked at her, and I couldn't help but bring my hand to caress her fluffy violet ears.

-You like feeling me so much.

-''Your features are mesmerising.'' I replied.

At that she coiled her large fluffy tail around both of us in a comfortable way.

-You bewitch me my lupa. I can't resist you.

-Good. This lupa owns you after all.

She came closer of her own and kissed my lips with barely held passion.

-I enjoy spending my life with you Tacet.

-It brings me joy to the heart to hear that from you, Provence.

I kissed her head lovingly and she perked up.

-Never leave me, my lupa.

-''Never.'' She answered as she snuggled her head onto me closely.

As the sky darkened and the stars flared we enjoyed the timeless movie from a bygone era, close in each other's comfort. And we felt complete in each other's bond.
