Meeting another wizard?

Meeting another wizard?

I felt being dragged out of the water just as I wanted to look for the man I met moments ago, I got angry because I wanted to save him and someone didn’t want me to do that. I took out my mage robe after I dried myself with a simple heat spell, completely ignoring the presence that dragged me out of the water. She looked at me with expressionless face waiting for something, I guessed she was expecting me to attack her or maybe she was thinking I was baiting her into attacking me. I looked at her with my best angry face I could make and said “listen I don’t know who you are, but why did you stop me from saving Steve?” I looked at her waiting for an answer but she kept looking at me weirdly. So I continued “lady as a mage why aren’t you saving humans like you’re self?” I asked in an angry tone, I was angry for real this time. She smiled at me and said “I’m pleasantly surprised to find someone of your status to be worried about humans, especially a human they met moments ago” I gave the lady a confused look and asked “what do you mean? Are you saying others similar to myself treat humans differently?” She continued “yes, you have no idea how different you are child” I was getting angrier at her and I shouted “my dad was human, I don’t care about others similar to myself. I even suspect we don’t share the same mother even, otherwise they would behave differently or mom would deal with them” As I said the last bit tears came down my eyes, I’m starting to miss mom already.

The lady Wizard waited patiently until I finished crying for a bit, something I appreciated very much. She looked at me with a smile and said “young lady apologies for my earlier behavior but your friend needs to sleep for a while in those icy waters. The world doesn’t need him for now, you can meet him after he wakes up I won’t interrupt, also I am called the Ancient One, and you are welcome to stay in our universe. But I need to ask some questions that will determine you’re place of staying” I looked at her with relief thinking to myself “good thing I didn’t start fighting, mom always said either fight to kill or don’t fight at all” Feeling glad I listened to mom’s advice saved me there, I zoned out while thinking about all the good things mom taught me. “Child could we finish here quickly, I’m sure you don’t like the weather here” she said. I blushed abit thinking how silly my behavior is I answered “yes but could we do it over a cup of warm drinks like tea perhaps, and in a better environment”. She nodded at me and open a space portal, I hesitated abit before I mustered some courage to ask her “can you perhaps give me the space coordinates I want to try getting there myself”. She looked at me abit surprised a little and said “sure here you go” and she told me the coordinates, I realized it’s a pocket dimension located on this planet thinking nothing of it I quickly casted teleportation to get there.

The ancient one was surprised that it took the young girl less than 10 seconds to decipher the coordinates and cast a teleportation spell pretty much effortlessly. Then she proceeded walking into her own portal before her disciples make a mess that would be hard to fix. The ancient one arrived a second after me, looking to see how many of her disciples would noticed their arrival. Saddened to notice only a handful noticed and thought to herself “I need to improve the barrier and alarm spells again”. We walked together to the furthest building, when we entered I saw a pretty humble interior for a temple, thinking to myself “perhaps I was wrong and it’s not a temple at all” The interior of the room was spacious almost like a training ground but indoors with a simple wooden table and chairs in the middle. We sat down as other humans I saw while we walked on the way poured us tea in small delicate tea cups. I couldn’t resist and took a quick whiff of the tea and it smelled like something I didn’t recognize, but it was very tempting to try new things. Realizing I was behaving like a little girl I blushed in shame, the ancient one looked at me and chuckled then said” let the tea cool for abit, you would not want to burn your tongue.” Without waiting for an answer she said “Let’s start with the questions I wanted to ask you shall we” I nodded in response. She started with “where did you come from?” I took a moment to think then answered “not rly sure all I know is that we had all sorts of being in there: humans, gods, goblins, orks, undead, vampires, 3 kinds of elves and daemons.” I paused for a moment then continued “a world that was in constant war for its survival, a war we lost in the end. If only other gods like mom and golden hammer-guy would help the humans, it might not have been lost.” I was hoping the tea cooled abit as I took a sip, it tasted very refreshing not as strong as the tea at home but I like its taste more. Just as I was about to take another sip of tea the ancient one asked “are you willing to exchange some of your magical knowledge with ours?” I looked at her eyes as I started thinking about it. It took about 10 minutes of internal debating but in the end I shook my head, explaining that death magic requires extreme willpower and discipline both of these all the people I seen so far are lacking. As for space magic I didn’t think what I did was magic, I also comply forgot about arcane and minor magic completely thinking these simple things are even of less worth to a master wizard. She gave me an approving nod for how seriously I’m taking magic, I continued to explain briefly about the amethyst order and its role in law enforcement in the empire and some side effects that might appear on those who practice death magic. The ancient one was interested in how magical schools integrated into human sociality in my previous world. She commented “Kamar-Taj could have been the same if they weren’t too conservative and how late it is to do so now”. I looked at her abit surprised thinking to myself “now I know why mom didn’t want to stay at the collage at all”. Then we talked about other less important things like food, clothing and a brief history of this world both of us gained some insights from our discussion.

After a while I took the short pause to finish drinking that delicious tea, then asked “could I live in the home town of where Steve grew up.” The ancient one told me that I would need to get a sort of visa document for that country and that I needed to learn English or universal language. I decided to learn English and use translation spell for the rest, I wished eternal happiness to who ever invented that spell in my heart. Then I asked “can I stay at your place for some time while I will be learning English and if I could get accommodation for myself.” The ancient one nodded and called for one of her apprentices to show me around. In the meantime I recanted translation spell as I might need to use it a lot. And I walked outside of the building waiting for an apprentice to show up.
