HUmans

Dominic glanced at the notification while one of the two death clones disposed of the monster's corpse outside the building. The other one had gone to clear out the armory and pack the stuff into boxes to be taken back to his place.

As for Dominic himself, his eyes narrowed when he considered everything. He only got the jump on the monster because it was panicking due to the presence of the shotguns in the hands of the two death clones.

It should have sensed his presence otherwise and reacted accordingly because by his estimation, at least one of its stats had surpassed 5 points, which Dominic felt was the barrier between normal and super.

Was this why it was the first D- rank monster he had killed? The barrier between E+ and D- was crossing through that stage? Then what about C-? Or B-? What would monsters of that rank look like and what kind of power would they wield?

Dominic sat down and pondered this seriously while his death clones did the heavy lifting, placing everything in the back of a police pickup van. They would need to make more than one trip, so Dominic left the two of them drive home while he stayed in the station to prevent anyone from stealing his goods.

After the death clones left, the area fell into a deep silence for a while until Dominic raised his head. Outside, he could sense the arrival of four humans, three female and one male. His eyebrows furrowed because he could literally smell a disgusting smell on them due to his Acuity which was four times stronger than a peak human.

Dominic was no stranger to that smell, any sexually active person wouldn't be. However, the problem was that the three females reeked more than the incoming male, who was actually very clean all things put aside.

Dominic decided to agilely move towards the ceiling of the police station and monitor them in case they had any dangerous talents that could counter his own. From the rooftop, he saw the four walking over without a sense of fear or trepidation despite the overarching situation.

"Hey, Alan, hurry up! Do you want us to get caught by some monsters out here again?" One of the females complained, her twintail haircut which should normally denote a lolita being overturned by her expansive frame.

"I-I… sorry, give me a moment to use my ability, okay?" The only male, called Alan, who was a smallish, bespectacled skinny youth with acne on his face responded in a muted tone.

Alan knelt down and adjusted his glasses before his eyes glowed with a greenish light that was even more obvious in the darkness. The moment Dominic saw this, his brows furrowed and he used his incredibly agility to leap towards the area behind the quartet.

Alan was diligent in his scanning, looking everyone from top to bottom to make sure it was safe. Meanwhile, the other three women began to chat happily among themselves.

"Hm, you guys stink of fucking semen. You damn sluts, who did you pair up with?" One girl who was lanky and had average features questioned with a knowing smile.

"Well, Darren of course! I've been crushing on him since junior high school and this so called apocalypse finally gave me a chance to enjoy him~" The third female, who was quite slim and also wore spectacles giggled.

"Well, for me, I chose Justin. I asked him out for homecoming but he snorted in disgust and laughed with his friends. I made sure to make him eat me out properly~" The first one who was a little ‘big-boned’ said with a snort of amusement.

Hearing them, Alan seemed to tremble even more and hurriedly scanned the area. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here right now. In fact, he had looked like this from the beginning, but the smell of the three females gave Dominic the wrong idea.

He silently watched the enter the building while his expression remained deadpan. He did not even know what to think except for the fact that the apocalypse truly was the apocalypse, where all common sense and expectations would be thrown out thew window.

If you watched apocalypse shows and movies, you might die faster than someone who hadn't seen even one picture of such a thing.

The presence of sex dens where powerful or dangerous men in the apocalypse captured or kept women for sexual pleasure for him and 'his boys' was a common theme in apocalypse media.

It was every man's dream and fantasy to smash through the wall, slaughter all the cruel rapists and then save the despairing females from the darkness of their existence, bringing light into their lives.

Who would have thought that Dominic's first encounter of a sex den would be a reverse one? A bunch of boys who were popular or desired pre-apocalypse and female counterparts who were not so sexually desirable who caught them to fulfill their fantasies.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

What left Dominic baffled was how those guys could not make use of their talents to escape. Could there be someone among them with a talent that suppressed them? Maybe mental control? Or talent cancellation?

If it came down to raw stats Dominic was not scared of anyone but he was not naive enough to believe that he was number 1 in the world. Majority of his current achievements came from his death clones acting autonomously while he slept.

There were more than likely a few people who had already crossed the superhuman barrier.

Anyway, Dominic had a new problem to deal with as the group that had gone inside came out with dissatisfied expressions. One of the girls held Alan by the scruff of his neck in a surprising display of strength, making Dominic's eyes narrow.

"Hey, you should know that if we don't fulfill her mission, we will be punished. I know she favors you, which is why she hasn't allowed anyone to touch you, but that won't save you this time!" She said fiercely as she shook Alan thoroughly.

"I-I know… put me down!" The guy demanded through gritted teeth as he began to struggle out of the grip.

"Oh? Because I mentioned her, you seem to have remembered your backing and grown some balls huh? Well let me tell you something, I can easily squash those balls under my power!" The obese girl grunted as she threw Alan down and punched the ground nearby, causing a small crater to appear.

The others were not surprised to see this feat, not even Alan, but Dominic's pupils constricted. This was strength that he could not even gauge numerically at this moment. It was definitely above 5 points, but was it natural or was it the effect of her talent?

"Hey, hey, its enough. Lets go and find another joint to raid while there's still time, yo." The bespectacled girl suggested with a disdainful look at the obese one as well as a slightly greedy look toward Alan.

"Yea, yeah, whatever." The ‘big-boned’ powerhouse retorted while rolling her eyes, leaving the place and leading the others away.

Only Alan trailed behind slightly and just before they were about to leave the area, his eyes fell on Dominic's place. Dominic could see that those green eyes seemed to known he had been here all this while and were warning him not to fall into the same trap as himself.

Dominic remained where he was, thinking about everything that just occurred carefully.

Given their attires, their age and the way they came from as well as the way they left, could they be students from the nearby high school?

Yes, the day the apocalypse descended, it was about afternoon or so. They would have been in class when everything changed. Almost 2000 teens suddenly received talents and were thrust into a dangerous situation of life and death as all the animals within the school became mutated.

Dominic knew that the scene must have been even bloodier than those like him who were locked at home, because these young adults would not have to deal with monsters but each other as well.

Dominic leapt down and guided the incoming police pickup into the station through the back to pick up the last set of weapons. Only one death clone was within and his second one was staying in the house to protect the dropped off stuff from raiders.

The two loaded the things into the back and Dominic got into the driver's seat to move the car while the death clone stayed with the items to prevent anyone from grabbing them out of the back.

Like that, Dominic cruised home, passing through the silent and messy streets of his neighborhood while thinking. It seemed that moving by walking would waste too much time, so he would have to move about by car if he wanted to make his house his formal base.

It was faster and would attract more attention. After all, he noted only needed to 'die' but he also had to slaughter monsters to get soul points. As far as he knew, the Omega System never said anything about humans getting soul points from each other.

When he was halfway to his house, Dominic suddenly sensed danger and tried to stop the car, but a huge shadow smashed down and destroyed the engine of the car by crushing it to pieces.

Dominic's legs were turned into mince meat before he could leap out, causing him to fall into excruciating pain. His death clone in the back stood up and looked around to deal with the enemies, but a bolt of lightning struck it and sent it flying out of the back of the pickup.

Dominic's eyes were bloodshot as he tried to ignore and get used to the pain because he knew that he would be dying a lot more in the future in order to increase his death clones, so he would have to become used to pain if he didn't want to be incapacitated each time.

The door was pulled off its hinges and his body was pulled out forcefully then thrown to the ground. When he saw who it was, Dominic was surprised to see it was the obese girl from before who was grinning with mockery.

"Dumbass, did you really think we didn't notice you? You're not a fucking ninja, your steps are loud and you breathe like a rickety old car for people with our level of Acuity." She mocked while glancing at Dominic's destroyed lower body with pity.

"Tsk, we can't take him back for some fun. This is all your fault Cherry!" the fat girl blamed the lanky one who was walking over while the boxes floated behind her, her body covered by a blue outline.

"Chill Gertrude, you know I need to focus to use my ability." Cherry complained as she placed the boxes down and opened them.

The third girl came over while skating on lightning, which would have looked cool if it hadn't been the very thing that fried his death clone. She was holding Alan who glanced at Dominic on the ground with frustration.

It was now that Dominic understood why Alan had looked at him. It was not to tell him to come and save them like he foolishly thought, or even to remain in hiding, but that he had to run as fast as he could.

However, Dominic had obviously wasted Alan's good intentions and gotten himself into this situation. Even though his lower body was in agony while he also felt his body begin to weaken and become cold due to blood loss, Dominic was relatively clear headed because he knew he would come back.

Rather, he categorized the superpowers of the people before him in his mind. Gertrude - the fat one - had some sort of super strength, Cherry - the tall one - had some form of telekinesis and Elizabeth, the bespectacled girl, had electric abilities.

With this in mind, Dominic let the weakness wash over him, as he knew who and how to attack the moment he came back to life.
