After reading the message, Ethan was momentarily speechless. His face, which had been composed beforehand, hardened, and a furrow appeared on his forehead.

'This is bad...' he thought, his heart racing. He then took another deep breath.

He opened his phone and checked for public and governmental announcements on upcoming events. On local social media, a highly-regarded post has been released as an important statement from the Government and military.

The message read as follows:

“The Military, on behalf of the Government, is asking anyone with the potential to save many lives to register their identity. In this way, we can work together to tackle the looming crisis more effectively.”

“A mobile application has been created to share information about the presence of Monsters or other hazardous creatures. You can Download it Here.”

“The Government has also set up emergency shelters to protect civilians from attacks. A select few individuals from the military and other allied organizations are working to secure these places.”

Upon learning that the source of information originated from the official Military account, Ethan quickly downloaded the application they provided.

After downloading it, he opened the app, and a screen appeared asking him to input his details.

[Name: Ethan]

[Power: Some Cool Hammer]

'This is a good start,' he thought, 'The Government has already released a notification about the first attack.'

He was relieved to see how the Government was being quick to respond to the situation, having already prepared shelters and a mobile application to share information among a specific group.

'It's not like I can just wait around for the next attack,' he thought,

Returning to the System's information about the first attack, he had less than two hours to get accustomed to his new power. He felt a wave of panic rising, which he fought to contain by clenching his fists. Suddenly, the large hammer reappeared in his right hand, falling to the ground and causing him to bend slightly in order to maintain his grip.

Ethan struggled to raise his own weapon, embarrassed by his incompetence.

"How can I possibly fight with this?" he thought.

Stolen novel; please report.

Perhaps it would be better if he chose a different weapon-- something more manageable and powerful.

He consulted the information on his new weapon and noticed a skill that allowed him to throw the hammer with 120% physical attack power. With a heavy heart, he realized that this was the only skill the System had given him.

"How can something like this be labeled as an SSS-grade? Isn't that supposed to be better than C, B or A?" he mused, studying the now-transparent status in front of him.

[Ethan Lvl. 1]

[HP: 200/200]

[MP: 30/30]

[Energy: 20/20]

[Willpower: 100/100]

[Weight: 450/490]

“Let's investigate the potency of this weapon and how to best utilize all accessible stats and attributes.”

“I'm uncertain if utilizing the skill will decrease MP, which is supposedly associated with magical energy.”

“Let's experiment.”

He ambled, hauling the hammer in his grasp, periodically lifting it slightly to make it simpler to move. Once he arrived at the edge of the forest, lined with massive tree barricades, he readied himself to assess his recently obtained capabilities.

'How to use skills? Is simply saying the name enough?'

"Hammer Throw?"

As soon as he spoke, rebellious vigor coursed through his right hand. This energy subsequently accumulated in his arm, lightening the weight of the weapon.

Though he had never been trained in weapon use, knowledge of how to wield it intuitively sunk into his hand's muscle memory. Instantly, he raised his right hand, armed with the Mjolnir, and cast it towards the trees.

The Hammer flew in a circular trajectory toward the trees he had targeted. Moments later, a collision occurred, and the Mjolnir ricocheted off and landed on the ground.

“Wow! That's a pretty awesome trick!" he said, surprised by the results.

Ethan strolled over and observed the consequences of the attack that had partially destroyed the tree, rendering it close to collapse. He then took another look at the stats before him. Now the Energy and Willpower values had drastically altered.

[Energy: 15/20]

[Willpower: 97/100]

"What?! I used up a quarter of my Energy with a single use of this skill? How am I supposed to fight monsters like this? I don't even think I can take down a wild animal!"

Ethan wiped the sweat from his forehead and tried to use his hammer a few times until his Energy was depleted. He slumped against a tree trunk, contemplating how best to utilize his new weapon.

He was certain he could throw it, even if his target was moving.

Upon observation, he realized that Energy would replenish itself regularly, but not Willpower. Willpower would only be restored when he was completely at rest, seated, or asleep.

It seemed that if Willpower reached zero, then one would not be able to use their power.

Following a period of rest, he was fully reenergized, and his Energy was restored to its maximum capacity.

Ethan exerted his utmost effort to lift the Hammer and thrust forward. As a result, he conserved more of his Energy, though his Willpower would gradually wane as he persisted in the battle.

'I'll try throwing it again!'

He lifted the hammer and aimed it toward the trees. It was a little harder than expected.

'This is going to be a problem...'

Ethan was confused by this new revelation. He decided to try throwing it again, which was much easier this time.

'Maybe I should practice for a while.'

He managed to demolish a few trees with the Hammer. Then, he sprinted to the best of his ability, making sure his speed did not surpass the velocity of a typical human. 'Perhaps my Agility rating is still too low?'

After a few minutes of acclimating, he felt he had become accustomed to his new form and weaponry. He then decided to rejoin the throng, hoping to rescue more people if possible, even though he wasn't sure what he could do with his current capabilities.

30 minutes prior to the onslaught.
