Chapter 6: Rituals And Reasons
“Okay, I’m guessing it’s not friendly. This is what killed the girl?” Evan asked, dragging it closer to him
“The story is a bit more complex than that. While I did kill her, she was being possessed by a being of unimaginable power and infinite evil. That was one of the few ways to contain it. The children were to be sacrifices, like with every generation previously. Ask the boy. He approved of it, as did the girl.” The bunny mask dude in the black robe said, pointing at Tone
“What being? Give me a name or something.” Evan said
“Graaisk. I believe that name should work for any spell you intend to use upon it.” The bunny mask said
“Hey, you eight. He isn’t lying. And this graaisk thing is actually pretty damn evil. Well, to normal mortals it is, at least. Wait. No, yeah. Bunny mask dude and graaisk count as mortal.” Evan said, thinking
“Who is this kid? Did you bring us here?! Wait. Tone? Oh! Tone! It’s been ages, dude! How are you?” A kid said, smiling
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Tone looked at him, confused
“Do...I know you?” Tone asked
“That’s a bit cruel. Tone, we used to play with you, remember? I’m Lin. This is Nil. Do you remember now?” Lin asked
Tone shook his head
“I didn’t think you were the type of person to abandon someone and then just forget them. Disappointing.” Lin said
“Hey, you two. Tone doesn’t have his memories. He isn’t trying to be mean or rude. He just genuinely doesn’t know you at all. He probably thought that today was the first time he had an actual conversation with Yumena. That’s a good example.” Evan said
Yumena sat on the ground, giving up.
“Oh. I, uh… sorry. That was insensitive of me.” Evan apologized
“It’s… fine. You were right. The Tone right now thinks today was our first meeting.” Yumena said, crying
“Um. I’m not good with apologies much, so… here.” Evan said, giving her some tissues
“Thanks…. It’s not your fault he doesn’t remember. But I want answers from that rabbit.” Yumena glared, pointing
“That’s fair. I didn’t know he lost his memory. I thought he explained the situation to you all. That’s… what he was supposed to do. Are all humans this fragile?” The bunny mask asked
“Yeah, pretty much.” Evan said, sighing
