e up, lying down in a shallow part of a river. Thanks, Angel of Death. Out of all the places you could pick, you dumped me here.
I immediately stand up and begin to feel hypothermic, as the breeze quickly turned into a dust devil. I walked to the nearest riverbank, hoping that I wouldn't die from hypothermia.
The dust devil begins to fade out, which allows me to reach the bank easily without constraining my speed. All of a sudden, the landmass begin to become softer, which in turn, started to suck me. There goes the speed constraint.
Either way, I was able to reach the land safely. I sat on the damp ground and shivered like hell, with my breathing turning into water vapour as soon as it had the chance. I estimated that it is currently 18 degrees Celcius, so the chances of me dying from hypothermia are relatively low, especially since Meewenburg's usual temperature is 20 degrees Celcius.
Speaking of which, I am still wearing the clothes I had before I got transported to this world. There is a little spill of blood on the shin part of my nylon track pants, which is the only injury I have obtained so far. It is not ripped, luckily, but I could still figure that the bleeding has ended.
So now let's figure out where am I. That is a dumb thing to say because I am besides a riverbank.
Why am I here? Usually, in a standard 'Summoned to another world' trope, I must have served a purpose, being reincarnated and stuff like that.
I'll just think about that later. First, I must go and find some shelter or towns.
I looked at my right wrist to look at my watch. Wait, I never have one and yet, I am wearing something that you would consider as a genome codex from Resident Evil.
Fantastic. Who would have known that the Angel of Death would give me such a masterpiece?
I tried to loosen it until I realised that there is no strap. Guess I am bound to this thing. God, what am I doing with this watch, I better move.
It seems that there is a clear pathway that would lead me somewhere. If I recall, there is supposed to be some NPC crying out for help some seconds later. Even though that sounds irrealistic, one could hope that happen.
"AAAAAAAAAHH SOMEBODY HELP ME!!" Speak of the devil.
According to the sound, it is at 5 o'clock from me. The path just leads there, so I rushed over to the scene.
After a minute of running, I arrived at what seems to be two incomprehensible creatures surrounding a pale-skinned, blue-haired loli. She is wearing a worn-out breastplate and shorts. I have no weapon with me unless you considered a fist could fend off two monsters. I looked at my watch, where it suddenly showed you the basic stats whenever you are playing JRPG. Mine goes something like this:
LVL 1
HP: 150/150
MP:60/60
EXP: 0/120
I truly sound weak, but I'll just go for it.
I ambushed the creature on my left. Despite it being just as big as me, I could choke it around like a normal man. The other one decided to pull me from his comrade and punch the hell out of my face.
20 health points were deducted from me.
I got thrown off from these two meticulously designed monsters, which now I can identify as goblins. The blue-haired loli began to stand up and tried to run away as these two are now facing me.
"Thank you, sir, I will call for a backup!"
Now isn't that a pretty dumb way to run away. The first goblin noticed her and decided to chase her. I tried to chase it, but its buddy decided to block my way.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
So now it is just the goblin and me.
It identifies itself as a level two, but like every enemy, I have found and fought virtually, this one may pose no threat.
I was right.
After some jabs and hooks, the goblin was quickly defeated. I could still feel that it is alive and if I correctly predicted, there are a lot of them in this area. I'll just kill this one right here.
I lifted this monster by its leg and throw it on the ground. I took one final, powerful blow to its face, where it seems to penetrate the goblin's face.
All that experience from boxing and sparring when I was in school helped me.
The goblin quickly liquefied and seeps into the ground.
Disgusting. Reminds me of all the God of War gameplay when the enemy died.
I checked my watch, where my health point has depleted to 130, but my experience points are halfway through.
Oh yeah, the girl.
I ran to her last direction, which is not that far away as she continues to run for her life, with goblin catching up a few feet away.
Within seconds, I sprinted at my top speed, which would have made Usain Bolt proud if he is my coach.
"Oi kid, can't you beat this thing up?" I shouted to the front, where the goblin and the girl noticed my presence and decided to ignore the girl for a time being. The girl did not stop at any moment's notice and continue to make a run for it.
I tackled it like how a New Zealand rugby player tackles their opponent at the Rugby World Cup. After it goes down the ground, I proceed to throw a couple of punches on the face. Of course, it suffered the same fate as its companion back there and died with a broken skull.
It quickly liquified and seeps into the ground.
I checked my watch and realised that I have levelled up, which increases my health points and magic points I suppose, by 4 and 2, respectively.
Oh yeah, the girl. I better go and chase her so nothing worse than this would have happened. She did follow a straight path, so it is easier to trace her down.
As I walked on the path where her bootprints lead, I continuously repeated, "Oi, little miss, Where are thee?"
Unless if she is some sort of an assassin or a speedster, she might have returned to safety or found other creatures.
The first one sound more logical because I have yet to see any beings other than her and the two goblins. I see no town up ahead, so the second option is also possible.
Whatever, I will continue to walk forward until her bootprints are not visible anymore.
Why do I feel like something is creeping me from the back?
"Hiyaaaaaah!" Screams a familiar voice from my back.
I evaded the attack, which comes from the only person that would give a feminine scream in this forest. She is going to stab me in the back with her dagger by the looks of her position. At least, that is what my guts and instincts told me, which is usually right.
"Yo girl, what are you gonna do to me?" I asked her to confirm my suspicion.
She answered using the practical method, which is by fighting me. She is a surprisingly nimble person, which is easy to say as she continuously tried to slice me, primarily in the stomach.
Is this even the same blue-haired loli that I saved earlier? It doesn't matter, I need to stop her or else, my stamina is going to give in...
I'll just jab her and see how can I strategise.
From what I see, she seems to be striking me fast, which allows her to take advantage of a slow opponent like me. The slash is not powerful though, as evident by how every time she swings her arm.
She tried to stab me, which I side-stepped to her right. This allows me to strike her. I gave her a clean jab to her right shoulder, which causes her to roll over to the left for a second. She stood up and covered her shoulder, showing indications of pains through her look.
"Look, blue-haired dagger wielder, I think it would be nice if we can talk this out. If you wanted to ask some questions, we can settle down get a cup of tea." I consoled her, hoping that she would accept this proposal.
Both of us are feeling tired, though I showed it more than she does, and she seems to sustain bruises in other places, which she might get from the goblins that I beat up earlier.
She sighed and dropped her dagger to the ground.
"That is more like it. Can I come closer?"
She nodded.
I took one step at a time until I am just two steps away.
All of a sudden, time and space seem to be distorting. "Don't go any further..."A voice whispered at my ears. Scared as hell, I moved backwards to comply whatever that voice warned.
The blue-haired loli took her dagger and tried to strike on me. Thanks, Ms Voice, I owe you one.
"I thought we are over this!" I shouted at her.
She makes a growling sound that sounds pretty cute, and my battle for survival resumes.
All right, kid. You asked for it.
Unlike earlier, where I am completely avoiding her attacks, now I'll go for offensive and try to make Muhammad Ali and John Cena proud.
When she tries to slash me, I grabbed her by the left wrist and lifted her light body. I don't know the name of this wrestling technique, but I do remember that I have to slam the opponent down with full force, which I did. Then, after the opponent is immobilised, you lift the right leg and put your elbow on her throat until he or she gave up or pass out.
I would love to thank my trainer for teaching me this technique because now, I have a kid badly hurt in my care.
