Chapter 7b: Blinded by a façade

Chapter 7b: Blinded by a façade

As Goran and his army pursued the enemy into the forest, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The enemy seemed to be retreating too easily, and Goran couldn't shake the feeling that they were being led into a trap. But it was too late to turn back now. They were deep into the forest, and there was no way to retreat without facing heavy losses. Goran gritted his teeth and forged ahead, determined to emerge victorious.

As they moved deeper into the forest, the trees grew denser and the ground became more uneven. The enemy was using the landscape to their advantage, using the trees and other elements of the terrain to hinder Goran's army's progress.

Despite their best efforts, the enemy troops began to close in on Goran. The sound of clashing swords and the screams of the dying filled the air as the battle raged on. Goran fought with all his strength, determined to emerge victorious.

But as the enemy numbers began to thin and victory seemed within reach, Goran realized that they were vastly outnumbered. His soldiers were dropping like flies, and there was no way they could win this battle. With a heavy heart, Goran knew that it was time to retreat. He signaled for his army to fall back, and they turned and fled back the way they had come, leaving the enemy to claim their victory.

As they retreated, Goran couldn't shake the feeling that they had been played for fools. He had underestimated the enemy and paid the price for it. But he vowed that he would not make the same mistake again. He would be more careful in the future, and emerge victorious in the next battle.
