Chapter 87: The Rudiments of a Church

Chapter 87: The Rudiments of a Church

At the usual flying speed of a Winged, Eagle's Nest Peak was seven days' flight west of Oceanwood.

At Jano's current speed, it wouldn't take him that long to reach Oceanwood.

But he didn't want to travel too quickly; he wasn't in a hurry anyway, and treated it as a revisit to old haunts.

Westward from Eagle's Nest Peak, unlike the previous wilderness, the goblins had carved out a road.

Along both sides of this road were many Fallen Goblin tribes, followed by traveling goblin merchant caravans.

These goblin caravans generally hired Trolls as mercenaries to ensure their safety.

Along this long road were also several goblin towns.

The goblins had been developing in the Ferland continent for so many years, and their construction abilities were not lacking at all; many places previously untouched now bore their mark.

When Jano arrived at Oceanwood again, the original throne of the Thunder Titan had been leveled by the goblins, replaced by a goblin city built upon the former multi-racial encampment.

This was one of the largest cities in the eastern part of the goblin territory, Todkab.

Walking into this goblin city, besides the resident goblins, there were members of various races from the continent, with Trolls being the most numerous.

In the Second Era, the goblins were still the most civilized race, possessing a unique flavor.

Todkab City had a large platform built in the east, level with the city walls.

Runes surrounded the platform, and magic crystals shone brightly.

Several airships were docked on it, all of them the latest alchemical technology researched by the goblins.

The goblin’s alchemical technology had developed to such an extent that, if one didn't look at the Goblin Empire's external situation, it truly presented a flourishing image.

Jano and Little Tortoise boarded an airship. The tourists were quite surprised to see Winged, who could fly, boarding an airship.

Winged had been appearing less frequently on the continent recently.

Ever since the Losendas Kingdom became independent, the goblins' perception of the Winged had also declined.

Of course, this didn't cause the goblins to turn their weapons against the Winged; under the Goblin Emperor’s forbearance, the two races had not deteriorated to the point of declaring war and becoming hostile.

However, the goblin captain of the airship Jano was about to board wasn't very welcoming to the Winged, but Jano’s imposing presence and dignified air prevented him from being negligent.

The airship took off from Todkab, passing through Oceanwood, the Thunder Swamp, and the Belnar Mountains, finally arriving at Yobud, the largest city in the northern territory.

The Goblin Northern Legion was stationed here, constantly tasked with defending against the Bimons court of the northern great steppe.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

Jano traveled north from Yobud, directly entering the steppe territory, searching for the human tribes that had journeyed north to the steppe many years ago.

These human tribes had now adapted to life on the steppe, dividing into large and small nomadic tribes, each living independently on the grassland.

Since their ancestors were griffon herders, they transitioned smoothly to herding cattle and sheep.

But the largest of these tribes, however, established a steppe city in the northeastern edge of the northern territory, in a rainy, triple-river area: the Rhine Tribe.

This was the main branch of the humans who went north, the tribe that had always been ruled by the Reinhardt family.

The current Dio Reinhardt was the grandson of Vega Reinhardt, and also the most direct descendant of the Reinhardt lineage.

When Jano arrived at this tribe, Dio Reinhardt was extremely excited and immediately recognized Jano's identity.

Because although the Reinhardt family had multiplied into many generations, many Reinhardts had forgotten their ancestors.

But the main branch of the Reinhardt family, Dio Reinhardt's line, had always kept a portrait of Jano, knowing that the Winged King of the east coast was one of the sources of the Reinhardt family’s bloodline.

This had always been the Reinhardt family's deepest hidden secret and also the greatest fallback and trump card within their family.

In the clan chief’s residence in the city,

Dio Reinhardt respectfully performed the ancestral worship ceremony towards Jano, tears welling up in his eyes.

“Ancestor, the source of the Reinhardt bloodline, you have not forgotten us and still remember that among the human race, there are descendants of our bloodline!”

Jano felt somewhat awkward upon hearing this. Honestly, since Reinhardt’s death, he hadn’t paid much attention to the Reinhardt family. This wasn't to say he lacked familial affection.

It was just that in his heart, the Winged race was always the most important.

However, at this moment, with his descendants respectfully kneeling on the ground, he wouldn’t hurt their feelings.

After all, this lineage was indeed of his blood.

After pondering for a moment, he asked,

“Reinhardt’s direct descendants, my bloodline descendants, have you always remembered your ancestor’s oath?”

“Ancestor, we dare not forget a single word of our ancestor’s words, to revitalize the human race and avenge the goblins.”

Dio Reinhardt replied without thinking.

The clan feud and ancestral hatred, the ambition of the human race, he dared not forget for a moment.

But the current human race was too weak for him to achieve this.

Jano nodded.

“I came here this time to fulfill a promise from fifteen hundred years ago. Fiona once told me that in the future, some of the human race’s valuable techniques would be returned to you. With me, there is the human race’s enchantment technique!”

Jano took out a thick book, which recorded the enchantment techniques Fiona had given him, as well as some of the enchantment techniques developed by the Winged over the years.

Dio Reinhardt respectfully received it.

“Thank you for your bestowal, Ancestor!”

Jano nodded, sighed, looked at the extremely respectful Dio Reinhardt before him, and said.

“I have one more sentence, but it is not addressed to the human race, but solely to the Reinhardt family.”

“Please speak, Ancestor!”

At this time, the night was slightly dim, and two bright moons hung high in the sky.

Jano pointed at the bright platinum moon in the sky.

“Do you see that platinum bright moon? That is my manifestation in the high heavens. In the future, if your line of the Reinhardt family encounters hardship, call my name under the radiance of the platinum moon, and I will protect you!”

“Remember, do not call my name casually. My protection of the Reinhardt family is only for times of dire need!”

This was limited protection.

Even so, Dio Reinhardt was already extremely grateful.

“Thank you for your ancestor’s favor!”

Then, he was filled with worship.

“So Ancestor is that vast white moon in the sky! Now, many people in the human race worship the white moon! Ancestor, this descendant has a request, I beg Ancestor to grant it!”

“Speak!”

“The Reinhardt family now wishes to establish the faith of the Platinum Moon within the family to unite the hearts of the family, and then gradually expand it to the human race!”

Jano was stunned upon hearing this. Wasn't this the initial stage of a church?

He smiled.

“It is acceptable.”

He didn't need faith, but he didn't want others to have human faith.

But since this process couldn't be controlled, he would seize the opportunity and occupy the space of future gods.
