I ran, feet kissing the ground. Perhaps seventeen seconds ago I would have balked at the idea of running so fast with a slice of toast on my mouth. Now I relished the prospect. My feet were made to travel at speed and as light as the paws of a cheetah, my mouth was made to bite the toast with power as strong as the jaw of a lion. My breathing was steady, the toast was perfectly balanced on my mouth. The only thing that I could say was: I was born to run with a slice of toast on my mouth. If I had known better, I would try doing this since long ago.
Anyway, my story so far: I'd received a strange power. I'd found out that I wasn't exactly a human. I was late. I was in a hurry. I was running while eating a toast. No matter how I looked at my situation, the second I ran pass a turn I 100% would bump into some pretty girl around my age.
I knew I was almost late for the train but it would be dangerous (for my toast) if I or someone crashed into me if I ran at this speed so I slowed my pace.
"...."
Surprisingly, I crossed the first turn without even bumping into anyone. Which was good, but considering I had already eaten half of my bread, I would say my chance to bump into a pretty girl would be gone after two or maybe three more corners.
I ran past the second turn, which was a four-way path and I still hadn't crashed into any pretty girl... well, the second I walked past the second turn a girl suddenly appeared and crashed to a boy from the other side. "Tsk." I clicked my tongue in annoyment to that lucky bastard. "Even though he doesn't have a toast in his mouth." I protested while kept running at the same pace.
Maybe on the third turn? I thought with much hope. From the calculation of my munching speed, I was sure that I would completely eat my bread after this turn, and considering there was a saying about the third time was the charm so this must be it.
"..."
Much to my surprise, I had eaten all of my toast and peacefully ran past the third turn, and the fourth, and the fifth. Before I knew it, I had arrived at the train station without even bumping into a single girl.
"Tsk." Even though the station in the morning was a seething mass of humanity. Everyone from every walk of life was shoulder to shoulder, in each other's faces, no personal space, no exceptions. Yet, I managed to slide past without bumping toward anyone. Yes, that was a good thing and I could arrive five minutes earlier before the train came, but I still clicked my tongue in disappointment. I just felt like I'd missed once in a lifetime opportunity.
Nevertheless, while waiting for the train I took out my phone and was planning to play some social RPG, but a weird thought suddenly crossed my mind. Rather than opening a game, I curiously opened the front camera. To the others I might look like someone who wanted to take a selfie with a ghostly dog and a headless samurai, however, unknown to them, those two spirits were real.
So looking at my own face through the phone screen isn't going to make my tusk appear huh? Then what is the catalyst? I thought that as the scrawny ghostly dog was now happily floating around my head, while the freaking samurai spirit was circling his arm around me and casually made a V sign with his other hand as if we were going to take a selfie.
"...." Speaking of those two spirits, I wondered why they kept following me. As far as I knew, my family had never for once keeping a pet, especially a dog, considering one of my sisters was allergic to them. For the samurai spirit, I was more impressed by the fact that he could follow me and casually make a V sign as if I was going to take a picture with him, even though he didn't have eyes and ears. Maybe they were my guardian spirit or something like that?
While I was wondering about how I could make a contract and communicate with those two spirits, I suddenly had another weird urge. I shifted to the front camera and immediately closed my phone with a face as pale as a moon. I wouldn't talk about what I'd just seen but I'd made a mental note to my future self about opening a camera that could capture a spirit in front of train track wasn't the brightest idea.
With a trembling body, I opened my status screen and tried to keep the horror image away from my memory. Ah, by the way, I had tried everything from saying "open screen," touching the top right corner, thinking about closing it and every other method I'd ever read from the litRPG novels. The only way to open or close those screens was by closing my eyes for about three seconds and thinking about the particular screen. And yes, they were invisible as my mother didn't mention anything about the screen, she said something about my tusk though but she decided to just drop the topics.
Anyway, I stared at my status screen. I still had two unspent status point and one unspent ability point. With the consideration of going to the exam, I guessed the only answer was to rise my intellect to six? But memory seemed useful too. Of course, I could spend a whole night thinking about how I should distribute my point but for now, I'd made an assumption that Intellect would affect my problem-solving capability while memory affected my memory-capability. Anyway, without thinking too much I'd just distributed my last two points to both.

Opening my other screen which I called as Information Screen, I'd noticed several changes. By the time I received the Phone Shaman class, my Mana had increased by 7 and became 37, and considering most of the mainstream games, the increase definitely came from the increase of my Wisdom. Anyway, my Mana had now further increased to 38, while my Mana Regeneration had increased to 26. I guessed it was a big mistake to increase the stats at the same time, but I had already done it and there was nothing I could do.
Kamiya Taiga Level 1 Exp: 0 Mixblood. 98.44% Human 1.56% Orc Class: Phone Shaman 1. Class Point: 0 Alignment: -- Faction Point: 0 Max Health 37 Current Health 36 Health Regen per hour 2.7 Max Mana 38 Current Mana 30 Mana Regen per hour 16 Max Stamina 41 Current Stamina 35 Stamina Regen per minute 3.6
Another thing that I noticed was that my Current Health and Mana didn't increase like my Max Health and Mana. Normally (in the video game) when a character leveled up or increased their stats their current Health and Mana would get some kind of an increase. For now, I would just assume the only way to increase my Current Health/Mana/Stamina was by patiently waiting for the Regeneration.
Speaking of which, since I had opened the information screen, I suddenly remembered I hadn't explored everything from the Information Screen. While remembering where I left off, I moved my finger and touched the Alignment bar.
Alignment. Please choose your alignment. Your alignment will decide the kind of quest you can receive, along with the items and abilities you can access from the Faction Store. You can change your Alignment any time you want at the cost of 100,000 Faction point. Good Evil Neutral Chaotic Lawful Receive +5 Experience and Faction Point whenever you do a good deed. Receive -1 Experience and Faction Point whenever you do an evil deed. Receive +5 Experience and Faction Point whenever you do an evil deed. Receive -1 Experience and Faction Point whenever you do a good deed. Receive +1 Experience and Faction Point regardless of your action. Receive +5 Experience and Faction Point whenever you break the Law. Receive -1 Experience and Faction Point whenever you obey the Law. Receive +5 Experience and Faction Point whenever you obey the Law. Receive -1 Experience and Faction Point whenever you break the law.
My lips curled into a smile as I read those. Of course, there was nothing smiled worthy from those options but at the very least I had some vaguest idea about my Alignment selection, and that was good enough. If I was playing a video game, becoming Evil and Chaotic character would be my choice, as doing evil deeds and breaking the laws was the easiest way. But in the real world, doing evil deeds or breaking the laws would mean ending up in white strip black uniform. As for doing good or following the law, I wouldn't mind but it would be suck if I had to keep pretending to be a good and obedient person. And through the selection process, it seemed my only choice was Neutral.
Congratulations! Your alignment is now Neutral. You can now receive all quest without any bonus.
Bonus? At first, I thought the +5 on the other and +1 on the neutral was the bonus, but it seemed that wasn't the case. Urgh... I felt like I'd just got scammed really hard. If I had known about the bonus, I would've picked another Alignment.
By the way, maybe it was because of my expression kept changing without any reason, or maybe because my finger was dancing around at the air, but I could feel the middle-aged man next to me was staring at me with weirded expression, while the businesswoman behind me was definitely looking at me with sympathetic gaze. For the sake of my social life, I decided to end my activity and closed the screens.
Maybe it would be better for me to not open the screen at a public place. As I thought that, the train had arrived and I got pushed by the sea of people into the train.
