It was still early in the morning. As my fading consciousness came back by the sounds of my alarm, which was sending an annoying cock-a-doodle-do sound straight into my ear. Still shutting my eyes tight, I reluctantly shoved my hand from the warm blanket and slammed the snooze icon.
5 more minutes. I thought as I slid my arm back. I was asleep at the moment but not for long. The alarm once again rang and once again I hit the snooze. 5 more minutes. This happened for the third, fourth, and few more times until someone had to make my very first conversation of the day with me.
"Taiga!! How long are you going to sleep?! Get up! Now!" Or more likely a shout. I didn't know what my mom thought, but I was still on my holiday and I didn't have any reason to get up this early, and she supposedly should know that. Then again, why was I set my alarm at this hour?
Whatever my reason was, my mother shrill voice was something I didn't want to mess up with. I slowly opened my eyes, staring as solid morning light shimmered against the wooden brown ceiling in 144p, it seemed I had forgotten to draw the curtains closed last night. With a wide yawn, I rubbed my half opened eyes and gradually, the blurry 144p world changed to high definition 4k.
"What the hell?" I muttered in shock as the first thing that I clearly saw was several floating blue screens.

I stared at the floating screens about a foot in front of me. Health? Class? Status? Ability? No matter how I looked at them, those transparent blue screens were something that came out straight from video games. Yes, those were status screens or more likely MY status screen. Though the two questions that I had on my mind were How is this possible and why can I see one?
Maybe last night alien had come to Earth and they had given human this power so that we could live among them? Or maybe Demon Lord and his army were invading Earth and God was giving human this power to repel them? Or this was the natural phenomena that were happening in the whole world? How about I'd just gone crazy after spending too much time playing video games?
Setting the reason aside, there was one big problem that made me frowned. What did it mean by Mixblood? So my ancestor was an ORC? Wait... Did this mean Orc WAS exist?! What about Elf? or Dwarf? Yeti? Santa Claus?!
I wanted to explore more about those screens while laying in my bed and cowering under my blanket, but my mother's shrill shout once again echoed throughout the house. With a groan, I had to gather my will just to come out of the bed. I slinked out from under the sheets and slowly changed my position to sitting up. The screens were also moving up, faithfully following my line of sight no matter where I looked.
Stretching my body and letting out another yawn, I actually amazed by the fact that I was pretty calm even though I was staring at the floating blue screens, which should be impossible to exist. If I had to guess, it probably because of all the LitRPG books and Light novels that I ever read. Then again, I didn't feel any enjoyment or excitement either. It seemed those books had made me somewhat invulnerable to this kind of experience.
Speaking of the novels that I had read, almost all of the protagonist always touched the blue screen without any hesitation, and so did I. Wriggling my index finger, I tried to touch one of those floating blue screens, but much to my surprise, touching it didn't feel like touching a screen on a tablet or a smartphone. My finger was penetrating through the screen and the screen rippled as I did that, it was like touching the surface of a clear pond.
Along with that, my lips curled down in annoyment as I realized my status point had dropped by one point and my strength, the place where my finger penetrated, had raised to 5. The other changes that I noticed were my Health and Stamina rose by 1 point. It seemed whatever system the status screen used, it didn't question whether or not the thing that I did was intentional or not.
Even with that in mind, I still moved my finger and carelessly touched other words. The floating blue screen rippled and shifted to a new empty screen when I touched Skill, Spell, and Passive. While nothing happened when I touched Status, Ability, Health, Stamina, and The empty slot next to Skill, Spell, and Passive bar.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
When I touched Class Point. The screen once again shifted to the same blue pane, but this time there were two things written on it:
Class The amount of time you have spent on reading Wikipedia and Trivia fact on the internet has granted you a new class: Internet Exscholar. The amount of time you have spent on your phone and how your phone is spiritually important to you has granted you a new class: Phone Shaman.
I scowled when I read the unnecessary explanation. What the hell was those class? Both of them sounded useless and very uncool. And I would say the system judgement was a big utter bullshit. Seriously? I only had TWO options? Even though I was sure I had spent enough time reading books and playing games to at least receive... maybe Librarian and Gamer? What about the time I had spent at baseball club? Was the system didn't count that? ... Okay, the last one only lasted for six months before I quit the club, but still, I lived for 15 years and only had those two options?
On the other hand, if I took a look at a bright side I guessed I didn't need to stress myself out about choosing my class. I always spent too much time when picking a new class whenever I started playing new RPG games, this included gathering the fact, calculating the stats, building the skill simulator. But since I only had two class and both of them didn't give any type of information, I'd just shrugged my shoulder and without thinking too much, I took my phone and nonchalantly ran the coin flip simulator. Head for Internet Exscholar, Tail for Phone Shaman.
"Oh.." I gritted my teeth in grimace and disappointment as I saw the result, then again, the other one wasn't a better choice either. With a sigh, I moved my finger and picked my class. As I did that, the Class Point dropped to 0 and a new screen appeared in front of my face.
Congratulations! You have received a new class Phone Shaman Level 1! You have received +1 Wisdom, +2 Presence and +2 Spirit! You have learned the following abilities: Passive Ability: Totemphone Lvl 1: Channel your energy into your phone and turns it into Totem. You can see spirit through your phone camera. You can make a contract and store spirit in your Totemphone. You can communicate and see your contracted spirit without using your Totemphone. Maximum: 2 Spirits. Spell: Phonetergeist: Order the spirit in your Totemphone to move your Totemphone or use the phone feature, as per usual. Max Distance: 10 + Presence meter. Cost: 1 Mana for each minute.
I didn't expect much from a class named Phone Shaman but the reality was a total disappointment. The ability to make my phone moved around was cool, the only problem was; my phone had cost me 112,800 Yen. There was no way I would willingly make something this expensive to float around.
As for the other Ability, Totemphone, basically this ability had turned my phone into a ghost radar. Which, in a sense was a pretty neat ability... or I was just trying to be optimistic about my class potential.
Either way, this was a good time to check whether or not I had gone crazy. I opened the camera and shifted my phone to scan the whole room.
And even when I had scanned every part of my rooms, from the corner of my room to underneath my desk, I hadn't seen anything unusual... except for one place.
I switched into the front camera and immediately threw my phone away with a pale face. Just how would I describe the thing that I saw on my phone screen? A bright white shining semi-transparent puppy with thin fur was clinging at my head, and even though I only saw the puppy from an instant, I could count its ribs. The other one was a pearly white pale headless human which sported leather samurai armour. He almost devoid of skin and a fine meshwork of red threads dripping down from his neck. Even though I'd only seen him for an instant, it was enough to fill my nostrils with the smell of rotting meat.
And the last one... the thing that really concerned me and made me threw my phone. With a gulp, I slowly took my phone and once again staring at the screen while completely ignoring the two ghostly apparitions behind me. "What the fuck?"
I could see my own reflection on my phone screen. I wouldn't say I was the most handsome or the coolest boy. I was told by my friend that I looked like someone who had chosen all the basic options in the character creation screen. I had wavy unkempt black hair, dark grey eyes, medium build and height, and somehow... I now had slightly pointy ears and two freaking TUSKS protruding out from my lower mouth, just long enough to reach my upper lip.
I didn't have the time to process what was going on with my own face, but my mother had already slammed open the door. "Taiga! Are you up yet?" Reflexively, I snuck back underneath my blanket, trying to hide my face away as if I was trying to hide my porn magazine or was hiding while I was masturbating.
"Why are you still in your bed?!" She screeched. "You are going to be late, you know?"
Late for what? At first, I thought mom was the one who still half asleep. I'd just started my long vacation and I didn't have an appointment or plan for today. I closed my eyes and thought about the meaning of her word for a moment when suddenly, my eyes flew wide as I figured out the meaning of her words. "Crap!!! The entrance exam!"
Today was the day of my high school entrance exam. And even though last night I had prepared myself by taking an early bed and setting my alarm in the early morning, I'd completely forgotten about the exam because of those freaking screens. Then again, I was sure I would still forget about it even when I awoke without those screens.
With a jolt, I threw the blanket and ran straight to the bathroom. I didn't know what kind of face mom had made when she saw my face and those floating screens (yes I still hadn't closed those screen.) but my brain was in a complete overload and I didn't have enough time to see her reaction.
My feet keep going forwards, quickening the pace of my feet and with a loud slam, I entered the bathroom. I turned the tap and felt the cold water brushing against my the skin of my face as I washed them, nothing I could do about that though since it was winter.
With a deep sigh, I grabbed my toothbrush. How do I brush my tusks? I gritted my teeth as I seriously thought about this for a moment but decided to just learn it on the process.
I raised my head and habitually stared into the mirror. My eyes were fixed in the mirror and I tilted my head to the side. The transparent blue screens were, of course, still floating in front of my face but my tusks and pointy ears had gone from my face, I would assume this as a good sign.
