134 - Chase

"Raghav!" Taarini gasped when she saw the men who were shooting at the people in masks. She did not think that Raghav and Munna did not leave on her orders.

Aditya's expression paused for a moment before shouting in a loud voice, "RAGHAV, GET THE F**K INTO THE CAR."

Did these idiots think that it was a typical gang war where people with guts won over the people who backed down? Aditya could see, through the cracks of the windscreen, that aside from the initial disturbance caused by the armoured car crash, no one even ducked when Raghav and others fired.

The bullets bounced off Leon as he looked at these local gangsters with mild amusement. These people were simpletons with no knowledge that the world was not the same anymore.

When Munna had conveyed Taarini's orders to leave, Raghav had acquiesced and drove away. But after a few moments, he felt that the order was sudden and untimely. Munna also felt the same way, but he did not want to disobey Taarini. Raghav, on the other hand, did not have such restrictions. He immediately took a U-turn and tried to catch up.

Raghav noticed the five Range Rovers passing them but did not overthink about it. But after some time, when Raghav and others were catching up to Taarini, saw another group of vehicles pass. Raghav had a bad omen and increased the speed of their car to the highest. Even Munna stopped dissuading Raghav. It was better to be safe. It was alright if Taarini gave them a scolding.

After a few seconds, they heard gun firing in the distance. Moreover, this firing felt like a few machine guns were firing at the same time. Raghav's blood froze when he heard these sounds as he looked at Munna.

Just as they turned a curve in the National Highway (freeway), Raghav was greeted with loud sounds of grenade detonations. He saw the five cars, which had passed them some time ago, go up in flames. What shocked them was that the vehicles were mostly unaffected by these blasts.

There was a distance of 100 meters between Raghav and these cars, but the gap did not decrease but increased. In the smoke, rising from the blast fire, Raghav and Munna discovered, to their horror, that these cars were engaging with a Hummer. They could recognise this vehicle even in their sleep. Raghav's blood boiled as he did not care about maintaining the balance of the car and other safety measures. He just stamped the accelerator as if he wanted to destroy it. Raghav would not allow anyone who dared to harm their little miss, to live.

Raghav and Munna had to witness the fight from a distance but were unable to help. They saw Aditya shooting at a biker and the iron rope. Aditya's presence calmed them down a little. In Raghav's eyes, Aditya was a freak of nature and was better than them in all aspects. As long as Aditya was fine, it meant that Taarini was alright.

But Raghav and Munna's heart lurched when they saw the bullet wounds on the Hummer which made it almost irrecognisable. When they saw that these cars had surrounded the Hummer and stopped it, Raghav did not even think for a second before ramming into the vehicle which was on Taarini's side.

Even though the crash rattled Raghav and others a little, it did not cause much damage as they were braced for the impact and the airbags inflated and absorbed most of the force. Raghav was the first to get down and start shooting, along with a few of his underlings. Munna was stunned a little because of the crash and required some time to regain his composure. After all, he was in his late forties.

Raghav had mistakenly thought that his entry would tip the scales of the fight in their favour. He opened his eyes wide open in shock when he saw that not even a single person was hurt after getting shot. Just then, Raghav heard Aditya's shout asking him to get back into the car. Before he could fathom the meaning behind Aditya's words, Raghav saw a person raise a rifle at him and shot at them.

Four bullets dug into his torso as he slammed against a car and fell. Raghav looked at the blood flowing from these wounds as he was confused. He saw two of his followers lie beside him motionlessly as blood spilt from their bodies as well.

"RAGHAV!" Taarini screamed in anguish as she forgot everything and opened the car door to run towards him. All the memories of Raghav surfaced in Taarini's mind. Everything felt slow as if time had stopped. After her elder brother's death, it was Raghav who took care of her and comforted her. He would even wear clown costumes to cheer her up when she was depressed. Now, when Taarini saw Raghav get shot, her mind went blank.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

The remaining biker, who had stopped near Taarini, sinisterly laughed as he raised a handgun and shot at Taarini. The bullet hit Taarini in her abdomen as she was thrown off balance. She seemed to ignore the wound as she tried to regain her balance and go towards Raghav.

The Biker wickedly cackled as he prepared to deal the final blow. He aimed for the head. The Biker would score a few extra merit points if he killed the target. Other people also joined in the laughter as they felt that the mission was accomplished. They seemed to have forgotten that there was another person inside. Only Leon remained vigilant. But suddenly, a shadow figure held Taarini and dodged. The biker's heart froze when he saw the eyes of the person. Suddenly, the biker felt as if he had made a grave mistake.

The biker did not think twice as he shot at the shadowy figure, which was two steps away from him. He heard a metal clang sounds, but the figure did not stop even for a second. Instead, four people in the background got hit by bullets in their eyes and died. Cold sweat started forming on Leon's forehead when he saw this scene. The biker was in no better position.

Before he could do anything, a sword pierced through the gap of the neck and the helmet. The last thing that the biker remembered was those eyes filled with fury. There was a saying in the military. Within the range of seven feet, a fight between two people carrying a sword and a gun would result in the person with a sword winning. This saying fits Aditya perfectly.

VROOM! BANG!

Before the others could fire, two Range Rovers, one from the rear and one from the front, collided with the cars surrounding the Hummer. These two cars were purposefully sent further away by Aditya so that they could help him in a crucial moment. He had not thought Raghav would come to save them. Aditya looked at Taarini's bleeding wound as grief flashed through his eyes. He had to get Taarini treated as soon s possible.

Using this commotion, Aditya lifted the biker with the short sword and threw him aside like a ragdoll. He mounted the bike and securely held the wounded Taarini in front of him. The fact that he had a thin physique helped matters. Aditya knew that placing Taarini on the back would not be safe for her. He raised his rifle to take down a few people while they were busy recovering from the car crash.

Aditya's left hand was adjusting the throttle of the bike so that he would be able to drive singlehanded. Tya could not hack into this sports bike for some reason. It was a yellow Yamaha YZF-R1.

Leon was one of the few who was vigilant and escaped the car crash. He did not think that this cornered demon would make such a move. Leon cursed himself for getting out of the car as Leon remembered that the opponent was a godly marksman. He covered his eyes and tried to shoot at Aditya, blindly. Before he could fire, his gun was shattered to pieces. It was Aditya.

Before Aditya could wipe these people out, the two cars which restricted the Hummer with the iron hooks, caught up. Out of thirteen people, seven had been killed, two had been disabled because of the car crash, and the one (Leon) was disarmed. The remaining three people were not in the position to take any action. Aditya finished adjusting the throttle and started the bike.

"Adi, Raghav..." Taarini said in a faint voice. She knew that she had made things difficult for Aditya by succumbing to her emotions. Taarini had realised her mistake the moment she got shot.

Even now, Taarini did not think about the blood loss she was having from the wound in her abdomen. Her stomach was hit, and the acid in her stomach was leaking into the cavity, causing lethal damage to her other vital organs. But she did not think about the searing pain and the prospect of dying. Instead, she wanted to know about Raghav's health condition.

"Don't worry, I will take care," Aditya said in an anxious voice. He knew that Taarini situation was no better. He had to get her treated as soon as possible.

Munna had dragged Raghav into the car, during this clash. The enemies did not have the time to bother with these weaklings when they were trying hard to stay alive against Aditya.

The other two underlings of Taarini had died because of headshots. Fortunately, the armoured car was still functioning. Tya took over the control and started driving them in the opposite direction.

Aditya had sent a message to Saira to save Raghav at all costs. He knew that Saira had access to a drug which had rapid regeneration powers at the expense of vitality. As long as Raghav had a breath of life in him, he should be safe.

Aditya could not do the same thing with Taarini as these people might not care about Raghav, but Taarini was the prime target. He had to get her away to safety first before treating her.

White smoke emerged as the rear tire burned when Aditya raised the throttle. He had a tiny window of a few seconds to escape. Aditya released the front brake and the bike shot forward through the gap created by the car crash. Aditya continued shooting at others until they were at a safe distance. Two cars were on his tail, but they couldn't catch up as their speeds were identical and he had an early start.

"Mentor, don't worry. Everything is going to be alright," Aditya said as the wind whipped his face. He could feel Taarini's vitals dropping at an alarming rate. Aditya changed gears as he reached the highest speed possible in this road. Aditya squeezed through the traffic and passed vehicles like a phantom. He did not care about avoiding collateral damage when Taarini's life was at stake.

Taarini raised her head as she looked at Aditya's disguise and jested in a weak voice, "I prefer your original face." Aditya forcefully smiled as he looked at the pale face of Taarini.

"Adi, there is a helicopter approaching us at a rapid speed," Tya's said. Aditya's heart trembled when he heard this.
