"Wow!"
That was the common exclamation right now for the first years. Be it because of the magnificent castle that stood in the distance or because of the half-giant calling out for them.
"First years! First years come with me! First years!"
"Come on, go. We will be waiting for you." Anna waved before pulling Rachel along with her in the direction of a group of seniors.
"Bye."
Theo and the others waved goodbye before walking closer to Hagrid.
'Damn, he really is big.'
Hagrid was bigger than he expected. Because height was better pictured with sight, the description of the books did not help Theo be ready for Hagrid's height.
While Hagrid kept calling out for the first years, Theo looked around the crowd.
Although he had no intentions of interfering with the plot, that did not mean he was not excited to finally see the main characters of his favorite story.
Soon, he found them.
Hermione was with Neville and an unknown girl, seemingly searching for his frog. Harry and Ron were together, as expected.
And they looked exactly like he expected, he felt quite happy to see them face-to-face.
After a little walking, they finally reached the boats he was waiting to get on.
Abiding by Hagrid's warning, the first years only entered the boats in groups of four.
Naturally, Theo, Raphael, Wendy and Yuri were in the same boat.
At Hagrid's command, the boats started moving on their own, in the direction of the tall structure that towered above them.
After a magical boat ride, a dark tunnel and the end of the search for Neville's frog, they finally arrived at Hogwarts.
Once Hagrid knocked on the huge double doors, they opened, revealing the figure of the strict Professor McGonagall.
As she led them towards the Great Hall, she had been explaining the existence and the importance of each team.
There was also the appearance of the ghosts and Peeves, but McGonagall easily shooed them away, until they finally reached the entrance of the Great Hall.
With a simple movement, McGonagall opened the double doors of the entrance and guided the freshmen towards the front of the hall.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
A lot of eyes were on them, and Theo recognized a lot of them. Dumbledore, Snape, the Weasley, some of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and some other characters.
Once they reached the front of the hall, their eyes focused on the old hat waiting for them.
Soon, the sorting started.
"Alinac, Freya!"
An unusual name, but there was nothing to worry, just how many kids here did I actually know from the known characters?
Soon, the sorting hat's scream echoed in the Great Hall, revealing his decision.
"GRYFFINDOR!!!"
One of the tables burst out in cheers, and the girl headed towards them.
Soon, it was his turn.
"Ellfire, Theo!"
As he sat on the stool with the hat on his head, he waited for the hat to sort him out.
'Quite the head we have here, huh?'
A voice resounded in my head.
'Well, thank you.'
Theo thanked the hat.
'No worries, I was being genuine. Your mind is a few years ahead of your age, boy.'
Theo didn't know how to answer that.
'Well, let's see...'
Sincerely, Theo didn't care which he would end up, as long it wasn't Slytherin. That would be a headache.
As a fan, he was a little biased about Gryffindor, so he wouldn't dislike it.
'Gryffindor is a no-go, you are daring and have quite the nerve, but you don't have the courage or the chivalry.'
This sentence struck Theo a little hard. Someone who was daring and had a nerve, but was cowardly and dishonorable. Wasn't that a shitty person?
'Hufflepuff? You are hard-working and kind, but not patient and fair.'
'Ravenclaw, perhaps? You match with them pretty well.'
'Finally a good evaluation, this shitty hat.'
'...'
'What about Slytherin?'
What?
'Didn't you just say that I match pretty well with the Ravenclaw?'
'But your affinity with the Slytherin is much, much higher. Your Ambition, your determination, your resourcefulness and your cleverness. Those match pretty well, if you ask me. Besides, your rudeness is quite comparable to theirs.'
'No! Not Slytherin! Please! Don't you da-'
"Slytherin!!!"
'You Damn Hat!!!'
Trying to maintain a poker face, Theo headed to the cheering table of the Slytherin in an awful mood.

The Sorting ceremony soon came to an end.
Some of the results were as expected.
Harry, Ron and Hermione ended up in Gryffindor and were welcomed by the Weasley twins.
Some other known characters, like, Seamus, Neville and Lavender, were sorted by Gryffindor aswell.
Yuri was sorted into Ravenclaw. She did look slightly regretfully at Theo.
Wendy was sent to Hufflepuff, and the cheerful girl rapidly fitted in.
Raphael did end up in Slytherin, like Theo.
'Well, at least I'm not alone.'
Theo felt quite conflicted about the fact that he was sorted into the House of Slytherin.
Like a lot of fans of the series, Theo thought that, due to the perspective from which he read things, the Slytherin were always bullies and soon to be villains. And the fact that all of them escaped Hogwarts at the time of the final battle, some of them even joining Voldemort's side, was not really something the readers viewed sweetly.
So, Theo's vision of the House of Slytherin was definitely biased, but could you blame him? They didn't exactly do much to clear their image.
Well, Theo's mood was being greatly influenced by the hat himself. Why sort him into Slytherin just because he was rude?
And personally, Theo believed he fitted much better with Ravenclaw.
"Haha! It seems we are going to be together for the next seven years, it will be a pleasure to work together with you, Theo!"
Well, at least someone was excited.
"Yes. Please, take care of me for the next years."
This changes his plans slightly, after all, just as readers had a bad impression, so had some people of this world also felt the same.
And since in the future, a Slytherin was going to be back from the dead to go on a rampage, that will be enough to bring my business to shit.
