“Ah now that we’re on this subject I would like to one of my companions.” Nelson then directed his hand towards Yamato
“Your Majesty I am Engineer Yamato Sakurai, representative of Global Engineering guild back on Earth” Yamato said as he stood up and bowed to the King.
“So Mr. Yamato, what is it that you want to negotiate for?” The King asked
“Then allow me to make this quick” Yamato said as he sat back down
“I would like you to sell us Mithril ores and Adamantite ores”
The King was taken aback a little bit.
“Why Mithril and Adamantite exactly?” The King asked a bit curious
“Mithril is an amazing metal that in its raw form is four times stronger than steel and two times lighter.” Yamato explained
“And if we process it even further we can theoretically increase its strength up to ten times or maybe even more.”
“You can do that?” The King replied with a shocked but excited expression
“Why of course” Yamato confidently replied
“I see, but if you have Mithril, why would want Adamantite?” The king asked another question
“I mean Adamantite is basically called poor man’s Mithril and are commonly used by Sorcerers for its unique ability of absorbing Mana”
“Adamantite is a natural super conductor, and will be used to improve the Orbital launch platform as well as other things”
“Orbital launch what?” The King obviously confused by these new terms
“Ahem, I will explain that in detail later your Majesty” Nelson then interjected
The King was then deep in thought for a few seconds, then looked at Yamato as he shook his head.
“I’m afraid I can’t do that since mining Mithril and Adamantite is rather “difficult’” The King said in a dejected voice
“How so? Are they that rare?” Nelson asked
“It’s not the ores themselves are rare, it’s just the act of mining them is very difficult” The King clarified
“Adamantite and Mithril ores are very very hard and trying to get them out of the earth is time consuming and expensive” The King began to explain
“A worker would go through three pick axes and one whole day just to get enough ore to make a knife.” The king said in a fake dejected tone.
“Even so I would like to propose a solution to this” The King continued
“Would you perhaps be interested in mining it for me?”

This proposal shocked Nelson a little bit. It was like the King giving them the resources they wanted on a silver platter, but he knew there would be a catch. In fact Nelson had planned for a scenario in which he would be the one to ask the King permission for mining in his territory. He never expected the King to suggest it himself. Nelson now had a vague idea of what the King was thinking.
“Of course, as always there will be a small catch” The King then explained.
“I would also like for you to process the Metals for us as well, seeing as you mentioned that you can even improve Mithril further” The king said as he looked at Yamato
“I can guess that you also want us to give you some of the processed metal for free” Nelson replied
“Not for free per se, you will be “buying” the ore with the processed metal. Do you understand where I’m getting at?”
“Interesting proposition” Nelson replied
“However, how do you suppose we split the yield?”
“70/30” The King said
The room then again fell into silence as Nelson pondered about what to say next. The King’s mid however was racing once again. He felt that he was pushing a bit too far now, but he had to try and get the best outcome for him as much as possible. Being guaranteed a supply of Mithril and Adamantite would dramatically strengthen his Military. His soldiers would then be equipped unbreakable armor that are more or less only given to the most elite as well as powerful new swords. He knew what he was trying to was borderline stupid, but he still took the risk knowing that the rewards would be more than worth it.
“I can understand why you would be this “greedy” when It comes to these metals” Nelson said as if knowing what was in the King’s head
The word “greedy” made the King feel uneasy a little bit. He was afraid that me might have messed up.
“You’re thinking that the weapons that will be produced from Mithril and Adamantite would dramatically increase the power of your Army correct?” Nelson
“Yes” The King immediately replied
“But if Yamato said is true then these materials would also be of great use to us, and thus the demand will be higher” Nelson said as he shook his head, which made the King a bit nervous
“Thus I would like to add more spice to this deal” Nelson said with a smile
Nelson’s remarks caught the King off guard. He was expecting Nelson to bargain for a better split and the King was prepared to lower it to a 60/40 ration If he did to show his “good will”. But it seems he will be getting more out of this deal than just ores.
“I was planning on using this as a bargaining chip for our Military discussions, but it seems it would be of use here since our current subject became tangentially related to the Military anyway.” Nelson said as he looked at the King then he smiled.
“My dear King, how would you like to have an Eye in the skies?” Nelson said as he pointed his hand upward
“Eye in the skies?” The King asked himself obviously confused at the same time curious
“Whatever do you mean?”
“Do you remember the thing Engr. Yamato mentioned? The one about Adamantite?” Nelson asked
“The orbital launch uh”
“Platform” Yamato reminded the King
“Yeah the Orbital Launch uh- Platform” The King continued
“You see, we were planning to build one over at our base back at the endless grasslands. While I don’t know the exact specifics, it is a giant structure used to launch objects into space” Nelson explained
“Space?” The king was now even more confused
“A realm above the clouds, a realm outside this land itself.”
The king then pretended to understand what Nelson said and continued with his questioning
“Okay, then what exactly do you launch to this so called “space”“ The King asked still a bit confused
“I apologize for being a bit technical, but we are going to send a machine called a “Satellite”. And as I said earlier, this will be our eye in the sky” Nelson explained
“You mean that?”
“Yes my King, it is capable of observing the world far from the reach of your enemies.”
This prospect then excited the King, no this was simply an amazing tool! He would obtain a massive intelligence advantage over other Kingdoms and would be able to react to a threat much, much quicker. The King wasn’t expecting the outsiders to have this kind of “power” but it was a lucky find nonetheless. Having information is almost as good as having good weapons after all.
“I’m guessing that in exchange for information coming from those “satelites” of yours you would want a better split am I right” The King said with a smile.
“How does a 50/50 split sound?” Nelson replied
“Deal”
