He was walking painfully slowly, ‘will I really have to put points in physical stats?’ When he arrived at the training ground he looked around and asked for the mage tutor.
He was a chubby man with a purple robe “so I hear you want to be a mage, the path everyone knows is the best and all the other classes are trash, correct?” “Yeah, sure,” “cool take this book and kill stuff”
Absorb firebolt skill book
(Yes) (no)
He tapped yes and now it was on his status sheet.

Upon getting in the game he picked destroyer as his username as that’s what he would be doing, mass destruction. It was sad that firebolt didn’t explode and also he didn’t have any mage gear so there were no additional stat bonuses.
“So did you learn it” the mage tutor piped while I was internally monologging I of course said yes then proceed to smash his expectations out of the park and hit for fifty damage then the burn numbers made his jaw open and at the 30 simultaneous firebolts I threw out made him want to cry.
“I can’t even do that,” he said incredulously “are you an archmage in disguise” of course I said no and he proceeded to give me the skill book for the next tier of firebolt, fireball
Fireball

‘What!’ His eyes popped out of his head this was too valuable “oh yeah also” the mage gave Mark a level 1 staff, all foci halved your cast time on top of the bonus attributes which was kind of crazy especially since it was green quality.
The quality of items went white which was trash newbie gear, grey common quality, green uncommon, blue rare, purple epic, orange legendary, red is mythical and yellow divine or godlike. The stats looked like this.
Mage’s staff (green)
-halves casting time
-increase fire damage by 10 percent
(High levels of magic can awaken this weapon. Would you like to awaken it?)
(Yes) (no)
It looked like a light brown lightweight handle and a shining ruby the size of his fingernail on the end.
This staff was absolutely amazing for a newbie weapon but only ok for him and he wanted to be stronger so he awakened it. Red light shone through the acorn coloured wood and the ruby grew from the size of a fingernail to the size of a fist and the wood was darker brown like dark oak with red highlights.

He raised his eyebrow and checked the staff's attributes.
