Here I was hot, sticky, and covered in foam. The lights flashed as people waved their glow sticks, some people waved their bodies as glow sticks. The music was loud, but the crowd was louder. Glancing to my left I saw Elloren. Her short navy hair curled at the base of her neck, sweat dripping from her creamed coffee skin. She was having the time of her life. Dancing, partying singing. She deserved it. After all she ascended. A full-blown Necromancer. You would never guess such darkness hid in those green tea eyes. But it did and she has mastered it.
Reaching over she grabbed my hand pulling me in front of her. Smiling at me she moved her hips to the beat. The little black dress she wore flared up exposing the bottom of her ass cheeks. She didn’t care, why would she. Taller than most men, Elloren flaunted her body like a weapon when she felt free. And tonight, she was as free as I have seen her in the past three months. “Thanks for coming out with me tonight. I needed a stress relief.” Part of that was true. The other part was because this party belonged to Mr. Gabriel Bluestone. They played cat and mouse all the time, but from my understanding a relationship would never flourish. They played games together, but that was all they would ever be to each other.
I didn’t reply with words, instead I pulled her closer and we danced, her ass on my crouch. We only separated once Gabriel took notice and finally came over. My plan worked. He would entertain her for the next few songs, while I stood outside. I needed to smell anything but sweaty hormonal teenagers. Making my through the crowd was the easy part. Being fast and agile were two things I adored about myself. Finally stepping outside, I inhaled the nights air. There was a full moon out tonight, I knew this because I could taste it. The air always tasted sweater when the moon was full.
Standing on the side of the pink brick building known as club “Pink Matter”. There was no line, because unless you held an invitation you couldn’t see the building. That was Mr. Bluestone’s power the ghost effect is what he called it. Leaning on the building I let the nights air embrace me. I let the little silence that slipped through the cracks of the noise inside the building fill me up. I understand that everyone tolerance for noise is different but honestly the music doesn’t need to be so damn loud. The vibrations poured from the building onto my skin. It felt nice in a way. Focusing I located the foot movements of Elloren, she was still dancing and laughing. Good. I would only need to head back inside if he left her alone. If this full moon brought me any luck, he would hang in there all night.
Sliding down the pink brick I let my head fall back. With my eyes closed I inhaled the nights air one more time. Only this time I smelled something different. Something dangerous, something foreign. Opening my eyes, a pair glared down at me from the top of the building. A pair of frosted silver ones. Pointing a black painted fingernail at me he motioned for me to join him on the rooftop. Sure, he smelted dangerous, but there seemed to be no danger coming from him. Besides if he came here, he must attend our school. Nodding my head, I floated to the top of the building. As the midnight sky grew closer, I changed from my sitting position to standing. Once my feet touched the ground, I knew I was wrong.
This boy did not attend our school. I should have known that. No one in our school has frosted silver eyes, abnormally wide frosted silver eyes at that. I have never seen such a perfect symmetrical face covered in smooth umber skin, in my entire existence. I have also never seen anyone outside of my father in silk pajamas. He acknowledged me with intrigue in his voice. “I’m Godric Victorian.” Extending his hand to me, he waited for me shake it. Taking his hand in mine, I replied, “I’m Alucard St. Vincent.” In that moment his silver eyes met mines and in them I saw a kindness that reminded me of Elloren.

“Nice to meet you, Alucard St. Vincent. I never envisioned you with red hair. Although I knew your eyes were. “No worries, when you picture a vampire, you picture my father. If we are all created in his image why would his actual flesh have red hair and not black?”
Godric, through his head back, letting out a true laugh. One that could penetrate the cacophonous of sounds below our feet. One that came from his core. “That’s exactly correct, I love it. “Why are you outside, the party is inside.”
“Are you always this observant?”
“Normally no, but this sound of this place, is keeping me awake. It’s nice.”
“Why not join in?” Narrowing his eyes at me, he pointed at me and replied, “Are you asking me to come inside with you?” It was my turn to laugh, so I did. In the middle of my laughing, Godric sat on the ledge and watched me.
“Glad I could give you a laugh. Since you know I am not invited I thought you were being gracious.”
“Gracious to a strange boy standing on top of a building that is supposed to be invisible to everyone except those with an invitation. A boy by the way who is wearing silk pajamas.”
“That maybe so, however you are the strange girl who was standing outside the building basking in the nights air. And now you are trading obvious things with a strange boy dressed in silk pajamas on top of the so-called invisible building. Sounds like we both are escaping and for that I believe grace should be given.” With his elbow on his right ankle, Godric used his hand to support his head. Because he was sitting the tip if his ash blonde braided hair touched the ground. I also noticed a little black bow at the end of the braid.
“How long has he been alive?”
Joining him on the ledge, I replied, “I am a vampire of course I bask in the night's air. What are you escaping from?”
“The sleep I know I am not going to get.”
“How did you find this place?” Glancing up at the moon I waited for his answer.
“Like I said it's loud.” For a few moments we were silent. He was silent and oddly still next to me. Most things fidgeted or at least breathed loudly. He did neither. He sat there like a gargoyle watching the streets below. Maybe he was some sort of superhero? The dimensions are vast the possibilities are as endless as they are bottomless. It could happen. I know one thing is for certain, he is not human, nor vampire, nor necromancer. In fact, I do not believe anything like him attends my school. It’s possible I have never encountered something like him before. If I haven’t. Why? Was he hiding? And if so for what reason?
“Are you always this deep in thought?”
“Usually.” From the corner of my eye, I could see a hint of a smile.
“Can I ask you something personal Godric?” Waving his free hand in the air, he closed his eyes as if preparing for a question he has answered a thousand times.
“Before you came to this place, the thought “Let me change” never crossed your mind?” Finally, he moved. Looking at me, he shook his head. The hint of a smile was no more, a faint one tickled the corners of his lips. If he is this lovely in the moon rays, he must be even more pulchritudinous in the sun’s rays.
“The thought never crossed my mind because I held no intentions of crossing paths with another.”
“Why call me up here?”
“Why come?”
“I like the thrill. I replied shrugging my shoulders. By the time I registered his hand was moving a piece of my curly hair from my lip glossed coated lips, it was over. However, that did not stop my body from reacting. I swatted and exposed my fangs at nothing.
Tucking a piece of his own loose hair behind his ear, he brought his pointer finger to the tip of his chin. I could see a flicker of interest in his silver eyes. Calming myself down, I stood up. He is dangerous. Not only could I not detect his movements, but he waited to see how I would react. It’s like he moved in the future, and I reacted in the past.
“I have to go.”
“I understand.” Bowing his head to me he stood as well.
“Thank you for the refreshing question.” Before I could say “You’re welcome” he disappeared.
Just then I heard Elloren calling my name from inside the club.
