BlackGate

“Clarissa what did you do?” The fire in Elloren’s eyes was still burning. No doubt if Clarissa made the wrong move Elloren would take her life. Where had this come from? What am I missing? Why was Elloren so upset?

“One week ago, the ringing began. It’s happened before so I didn’t think anything of it. Three nights ago, I woke up in a memory.”

“They made contact with you, and you didn’t tell anyone Clarissa?”

“It’s not that easy Elloren, this is my mother. I didn’t think….”

“That it could happen to you.”

“No, they would be so angry.”

“She’s dead, why would she be happy about that?” I asked, trying to give Elloren a moment to cool off. Turning her attentions from Elloren to me, Clarissa answered. “It was her choice to die. Besides death is never permanent, in our family.”

Even in her wrong doings Clarissa never looked away from our eyes as she explained herself. It is never an easy thing to admit guilt so bravely. She held no fear of being judged. Folding her arms, she waited for someone to say something. It might as well be me.

“Why do you have your father’s concealment magic on you?”

“It’s his spell, I haven’t added to it or altered it. The origins remain his. You can smell the original origins of magic?” There was a hint of something unfamiliar in her brown eyes.

“I guess so.”

Sighing Elloren slid down to the floor, her fairies disappearing. The melodramatics of it all. “What does she want?”

Putting her hair up in a ponytail, Clarissa asked her own question. “Before I begin, I need to know something.”

“You came here. That indicates that you need something from us. We are not making any promises. So, talk or get out.” Elloren replied. Distain suited her. Clarissa glanced at me and nodded. This is Elloren’s territory. I would follow her lead.

Tossing her head back Clarissa replied with, “What a bunch of bitches.” Elloren nor I replied.

“Fine, fucking fine.” Standing Clarissa stood and started to pace the room. “My mother is who you would recognize as Siren “Mother of Oceans.” If I could pass out, I would have. What the actual fuck. Come to think of it, her mother, that woman I saw did appear ancient. I guess one would be ancient to be a part of The Holy Trinities.

“Wait The Holy Trinities died in a war.” I stated.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

“No, they didn’t. The Holy Trinities can reincarnate, like the Gods. It’s never been attempted before because my aunts, Aires and Ever never bared any direct children. Their magic returned to the earth to create new generations, but they have no direct descendants so to speak. They died in the war but before that, they gave the last of their power to my mother so she could escape and find a way to bring them back.”

“That’s why you said, “They would still be so angry.” Elloren said as she stood up.

“Yes. Long story short, my mother met my father he concealed her identity for decades. Then she became with child with me. Shortly after that, her possession started. Her sisters were angry that instead of figuring out a way to bring them back, she fell in love and had a baby. My mother while still sane asked my father to kill her. So, he did. Now she and her sister’s are back. But that’s not my mother, she is in there, but her sisters are stronger. Angier. Grieving over a life they wanted. Displaced anger at my father for choosing to save us all instead of my mother.”

Clarissa stopped pacing letting out a deep sigh. Glad my family seemed normal compared to this.

“What else?” Elloren’s voice held no sympathy. There was not an ounce of compassion to be heard.

“I came here because my father knew you, well the two of you would need to stop her.”

Crossing my arms, I could only glare. What could we, and by we I meant I do against basically the Three Holy Trinities untied in a magician’s body?

“How.” Elloren stated more so then asked.

“I don’t know I was hoping you did.”

“When exactly did your father tell you this?” Taking a deep breath, Clarissa stated, “Before I came to this school.”

“A year ago?” Elloren and I said in unison. Clarissa nodded her head while Elloren and I looked at each other. “Okay so what do they want?” I asked. Unable hide the annoyance in my voice.

“What they always wanted. To be reincarnated.”

“Okay how do they do that?”

“I don’t know. If I had to guess they would need a necromancer to pull their dead souls out of the body. But that all I can guess.”

Sitting up, the moving pieces Clarissa provided started coming together. They took over her father’s body because a magician was born with magic and a necromancer was born with magic. Neither were plentiful. And none were born a Blackgate. None other than Elloren. Before I could speak my theory, my body went tense and on alert. Using “Devils Search” I found her. She was searching for me using her own power. Taking in the scene around her, this was new for me. Usually, I can only see the person I am looking for. I didn’t know if I could see her surroundings because she was looking for me or if her powers simply complimented my own. Whatever the case, I could see everything. Only there was nothing to see. She was in some sort of cave. No light surrounded her. But I know she is there. “Hello Alucard.” In one voice I could hear three voices, not four. They all sounded ancient. “Tell me dear, are you able to give a message to the necromancer?”

“Why can’t you just tell her?” Grim, sad, diabolical laugher filled the empty space she coward in. “Do you know nothing of her power?”

“Apparently not.”

“The dead are unable to speak to a Blackgate, unless that Blackgate has given permission. Even we are bound by those rules.”

“What do you want to say?” “Tell the necromancer in three years I am coming for her. However, others will come before I do.”

“Why three years?”

“She is incapable of the spell required to separate us. In three years time her final accension will take place and she will be powerful enough.” “What if she refuses?”

“That would not be wise vampire.” With that she diminished our communication. Elloren held out a tissue, taking it, I wiped the blood from my nose.

“She is coming for you in three years.” Elloren’s only response was a nod and cold eyes.
