Ehem, I'm back, I guess...
Within only two days' of training, to think... I'd get found out. It's a shame, really. Ah... Based on what I heard, I'd say that the knight had reflected a little (I hope so~)—thanks to the lady—and went to get me after only a day's worth. (It was quite a 'tearful' reunion.)
Welp, too bad for him; I was out that day. It's hard to imagine that 'guy' calming the knight; it goes without saying that even I wouldn't tell the 'guy' my spot. (Notice: I went back that night and learned of the knight the next morning.)
...
Even so, the lady's manor certainly is better than 'that' inn—it has more of a 'fresher' feel' due to its maintained greenery; presumably the only thing I'd miss is the guy's tea (that I 'borrowed') and my 'used to be' room's bed (that I, to this day, contemplate)—besides that, I'd prefer it here.
...
Now, enjoying a' nice drink~ another day, another life of monotony~ hm, oh right, other than what happened, upon returning, I did notice something:
Scattered papers,
going in and out, workers', and
a number of wagons.'
Besides that, the lady kept herself at the study—those hushed meetings and unknown visits—they really plan on keeping this a secret—erm, as for what's happening, it's hard to imagine; let's say only that possibility came to me—sigh, that's right, it's earlier than I'd figured it'd be; it's alright,' I suppose I did sit tight for the prologue of a story.
----------------------------------------
"We are ready," a suited man of tall stature reported, opening the door to a study. "And in a day or so, we'll dispatch the knights' as soon as they're completed," he added, bowing his head down to the seated lady.
"Appreciate the work—all that's left' that 'bunch,' eh, they've always been stubborn—no matter that, they'll give up sooner rather than later,"
"Should I send a letter, then?"
"Hm, that'll be good, and also"—"A quick mention of a "dungeon," wouldn't that be good enough?"
----------------------------------------
'Dungeons,' a term common to men—that same thing that'll be the beginning and ending of 'everything.'
...
What should I do? If I'd known correctly, in the end, all was well and good, except that the 'event' became more gruesome' than what was prepared to be.
A later problem? All of a sudden, it appears 'rats' showed up where they weren't supposed to be.
And a current problem? It appears I won't be able to do anything.
...
A crucial development that'll further guide history—wouldn't it be too much of a change if one'd'messed' up the first act of its 'narrative'?
Hence, to an extent, I'd be better off if I watched it play out smoothly until... It went towards the end of 'him...
...
"But I can't do that, can I? After all—I remembered the lady who took me. "I'd need to pay back that piling debt."
Sigh—it'll be a painful process.
It's a lot to process—I'd die earlier at this rate~ hmm~ another cup' of tea wouldn't hurt—
"Magic, hm? I'll test out these so-called abilities."
...
"It's not like I have a choice either."
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
If 'destruction' is its true ending, I'll take up that challenge—to make the so-called 'alter,' I'd change it from start to finish.
----------------------------------------
As they say, practice makes perfect; for this reason, I visit my training base daily. The skills' I've learned? Hehehe, let me show you~
First, 'air steps', as I'd like to call them, lift me through the air—focusing the scattered mana below me, I'd be able to use these' as a sort of platform—hence making me 'float.'
Second,
[Abilities:] In The Spotlight, Stage Immersion, Crowd Persuasion, Steps Mastery, Max Charm, Instrument Proficiency, System...
Focus on 'Instrument Proficiency'—an ability that'll let me use any equipment proficiently—my choice of weapon—a sword?—too heavy (same to any large item.), a bow?—a hassle to carry, knuckles? not suitable for me... Unfamiliar with the others, which leaves... A dagger.
Anyways' I made sure to swipe that in one of the manors' storage; with the use of a similar element... It'll pierce straight through a distance~
And last but not least, for the third, ehm, I'll keep this in mystery—it needs' to be tried out in the meantime.
Two (three) things~ will it work out, I wonder?
----------------------------------------
With that, I've hidden myself in a wagon—for a moment—let's deal with the tight space—ah, I'll use this as well~ as for my whereabouts, in just a sec more—
...with a thud, we arrived at the location.
It hurts more than I thought—next time, I'll keep in mind to not jump off a moving vehicle.
...
Apparently, people aren't that conscious of themselves, making them easier to find than I assume. Other than those markings, I'm grateful they made sure to light up the place.
They are making my job simple.
As for the individuals—in a way, I was able to train to my heart's content, thus gaining the skills' to catch even the smallest of the scattered mana they're releasing.
Let's get started! Shall we put 'Operation A' into action?
----------------------------------------
Ugh—"What's wrong, Boss?" Two dressed in dark full bodysuits nestled among the trees—where signs of the sun rising can be seen. "It's nothing; focus on the target," spoke the man he addressed, holding his head in unease.
"Ehm, actually—"Should I check the base, Boss?"
"Yeah, thanks; I'll take care of stuff here."
In a manner, the other saluted, "Right!" He responded; in his words, he disappeared out of range.
"Something's going on."
...
At the same time, I've strolled into the enemy camp—in disguise, of course. As I figured, to at least lower their guard, one must cozy up to the one in charge.
With a sprinkle of picked-up mana here and there (high senses; as expected of assassins','specially someone of ranking), stolen attire (n/a), and that fated interaction, we can now safely attack from within.
Pulling down that hood, I braced myself, gathering the particles of air to my feet. With a push, I leapt upward.
"Now, now, now~"
* * *
These annoying mana'—"I definitely don't feel good; I'll head back for now."
With a snap of his finger, the man dived into the blue—rather than the camp he'd made in the last days, what stood there in sight—an area thoroughly dyed; silent screams known to him echoed in the surroundings.
...
"What the—" he took a step backwards'—his body reacting to the foe ahead of him. One, two, three—immediately those left-out voices cease to be.
The enemy? A dark-haired youth—looks' enough to take one's breath away. "It seems I've miscalculated my~ to view such a sight."
...
"Don't worry—with a hair's breadth, the dagger that flew barely missed his side. "I'll take care of you too."
----------------------------------------
Finally, it ended; truly, I am weak—if we'd describe the stats, bandits' generally have an average level of 5—for the assassins and to him whom I'd just defeated, I'll say they had at least 10; I couldn't even'save' that one for an 'interview' though; I didn't imagine him to run all the way here—and the person that I am—had to chase after.
Getting dragged back to that 'forest—the same as ever. I do appreciate the warnings' they'd set up, but do they really have to be made'real,'?
As I was in a rush—stumbling over those signs' isn't that rare, you see~ because of that, I am now wrapped up in white 'plaster(?).' Magic undoubtedly is convenient; leave rolls' of paper here and there; chant a spell, and there you'd have a modern'screen.'
Wait, wait, wait, scratch that—I have business to attend here.
"For the next..."
----------------------------------------
"My lady, you didn't need to join us," said a man in knights' garb; walking to the directions' of parked horses—"I was a 'knight,' y'know?" The lady in question—contrary to her usual appearance she wore the garments' including a brooch identical—carved to be bestowed upon those in the 'order.'
"That is 'til you got married,"—"Why—how rude~" he let out a chuckle in contrast to the pouting woman, looking back at the direction of the lady, "Hence, you'd leave those monsters' to me, a'ight?" He'd assure her if needed be.
...
Slash—slash—several groups of people worked through the night to sunrise and parried the attacks of monsters' one after another—"There's too many of them," screamed—just prior to her turning back, one managed to break in.
"Keep your formation," the lady who interrupted split open the creature—and with another swing of the sword, effortlessly defeated a row.
Haa—"...!" Before the lady could catch her breath—sliced—the monster who ambushed her from behind was cut in an angle—"Thanks, Hal."
"That'll be a bit early...—the said monster in the form of a wolf' got up—fresh wounds poured out of it's edges and dashed over out of that forest to the nearest clearing—its eyes fixed on the young man he'd just seen,
"...!" In seconds' the youth with jet black hair who'd stood there—lay down the grass fields'—blood on every part of his'
...
"A traveler...?" asks the knight; the lady sits back on her heels and replies,
...
"Yeah."
