[Chapter 3:] Vita

Enough of stalling—I woke myself up in that line of thinking and rose up from bed—holdup.

How do I open 'that' again?

...

Recalling every game I've played or novel I've read—be that as one would have a 'dissimilar' concept; the majority would employ 'that' as some sort of 'guide'

...

Oh—"Status window..?" I spoke to the air, and just as I assumed, what followed right after was that translucent 'blue screen'—this really abide by those types of'style' I thought,

...

Um—for the time being, let's clear this out of the way—[Age:]???

Ehem, if—hypothetically, the 'clock' here's the same from'my' world... then it's safe to say I'm in my fifteenth'—next!—I scrolled downward, leading to the 'abilities' section.

Alright! Let's review what we have.

[Abilities:] In the Spotlight, Stage Immersion, Crowd Persuasion, Steps Mastery, Max Charm, Instrument Proficiency, System...

...

Didn't change, eh? though I'd stopped expecting—hmm~ passive? For now, let's say the abilities are classified into sections.

What else..? Right! about the skills' function, then...?

----------------------------------------

Sigh...

[Passive] In the Spotlight

—Bring attention to oneself

...

How do I use these? Do I just stand here and it'll somehow or another work? Anyhow, maybe if I did—Ah. of course—that would bring about nothing.

Although it was thoughtful of them to create a system,.

I guess even the 'creator' had trouble with the 'game' genre. Welp.. At any rate, I had to try it. having thought that—I went to look at the window, making out passable spots I could train in—near that village would be nice—to recognize from a distance that familiar carriage—"Hey, the madame is back."

----------------------------------------

...

Seeing as I do consider the lady to be one of my 'benefactors'—it's only fair for me to greet her accordingly, hence—I've stopped what I'm doing and positioned myself in an interval in front of the entrance.

For the 'gap' I've laid out, it's for these types of moments especially—"I'm back!" Exclaimed the person—following in seconds was the loud bang of an opening door.

Thanks to my knowledge, I was able to survive the hit; however, the chance of avoiding getting squeezed was out of the question.

"We took too long~" said the lady as I gasped to breathe.

----------------------------------------

...

I had no idea when it happened; regardless, our 'relationship' soon became like 'this'—it's not like I mind in the slightest, and in spite of that, I presume that 'knight' had a different opinion from me.

I glanced at his directions—needless to say, would you stop looking at me like 'that'?

"My lady, you must be tired; I'd recommend resting as soon as possible."—staring at me straight in the eyes—that seems to speak the words 'I've won'; this was his way of 'escape'

...

Alas! such 'cheap' tricks, it didn't matter for the lady had her counter—"It's fine, Hal—you go and help Vie." This was the usual response and added my reverse embrace—boom! full damage, I believe~

Speaking of which—"V...?" I uttered an almost undertone, "Hehe~ you see, I've met somebody along the road..." The lady let go—a grin spreading across her face. "Come here, Vie~" in unison with the calling—a recognizable youth entered the room.

...

"I'm here, I'm here," the youth unenthusiastically replied, taking into account the appearance.

By any means, I'm certain I already ran into a 'face'!

Ohh, right!

...

Wait, it's 'me'?

----------------------------------------

"What the—"Hm~ as I imagined; It really is perfect~" cutting the youth from speaking, were the words of Lady Ipses'—notwithstanding, I'd agree with her—we really are 'identical'

"Go on~ and show Vie around." She gestured towards us—I caught sight of the youth who glimpsed at me before—swiftly being pushed out.

"It's like I have two sons~" the lady remarked.

...

"Now, what's the report?"

----------------------------------------

As for the two who were kicked—an awkward atmosphere stirred—it's not my fault; I don't get how I'm supposed to 'feel'—above all, isn't there a premonition for these kinds of things?

So, I'd rather we walk in silence—however, I didn't figure the other would comply. I detected how I got stared at a lot, Despite the glare, we continued in 'peace'

...

Hang on, isn't this actually going'smoothly'?

For instance, we were able to go around the manor in a short time—from top to bottom, all that was required were the rooms—won't we finish early?

...

Ah, 'V' is really a good person! —Welp, he was able to adjust swiftly~ 'V' huh.. If I think of it, was there such a 'character'?

V..~ V.. ita? Ouch—Oh, the last room.

...

"You should stay here in the meantime." I motioned against the door as I pushed it, as predictable Vies' retort was nothing but a nod.

...

Vita Mortis, hm?

'Albeit that 'one' could do everything—he's considered a 'failure' unworthy of anything.'

...

I didn't predict the similarities—due to the novel's broad introduction—all I remembered was him having been described with dark-ish hair, presumably near mine.

Still and all, was he supposed to be here?

...

Inside a wide conference space, a number of people—amounting to four—sat, surrounding the lady who was centered on them all.

"They're back, huh?"

...

"That's good to know," the lady mumbled, her voice filled in a relaxed manner—"This isn't the time to be laid-back,'my lady'—in view stood a man in his middle age, laced with sarcasm he carried on: "Don't you think we're in dire need of 'combatants'? As I've told you...

"Mr., I've already received support; you got it? Therefore, those'skilled' knights you spoke of aren't necessary."

----------------------------------------

Without words left for him to state, the man reseated himself, enraged.

...

From the other corner—sigh. "It's quite exhausting to have to deal with those types daily; I couldn't. How d'you do it, M'lady?" The fair-haired man knelt down and reached for the lady's hand.

"Anyway~ Presently, mustn't you deal with someone like me?"

----------------------------------------

My days' go by at a steady pace—as for Vitas', though not assigned to, he'd waste his days doing tasks here and there to the point that I'd be of no use. In consequence, I spent mine leisurely—drinking a cup of tea—apparently the brand was imported from the south-eastern region, as claimed by the fellow in front of me.

This was my 'errand'—managing these 'people'

...

I'd expect no less from the lady—to an extent; receiving 'courting' isn't that uncommon. For that reason, the lady asked me to be in charge of an occurrence, and by that, basically,

I'll just decline.

In fact, in a week, I had accomplished the feat of turning down more than ten—during the process, I encountered a variety of 'character'—those'mob' ones—the 'prince' type—'hypocrites'—and once in awhile,

"You're 'Vie', right?"

Wrong, but I'll keep that to myself.

I'd receive those 'persistent' classes—remove the'mob' category, and what we'll have is the one across from me. A person of this sort is rarely hard to encounter—I had to sacrifice my afternoons' to meet the said guy—great 'name'—even that is fake.

----------------------------------------

...

Finally finished with that 'phony'—I haven't left the estate since, on that account. In incognito mode, I head to the village I'd marked earlier.

The village—an area included in the territorial range of the barony—thriving regardless of its small size, with stalls placed around each turn—naturally, I've prepared; I'd deemed that previous 'chore' more of a job; in exchange for the'service,' I was given coins—copper, silver, and gold—it goes without saying, I haven't got a clue to the value—thus I brought all those with me.

It's simple to say that in my current state, having stolen from is easier said than done.

----------------------------------------

In any event, I hadn't gotten close to finding any suspicious 'looking' individual—to tell the truth, I am on the verge of being the skeptical one—Oh! So as to appear to be the food' here is actually cheaper than what I expected—the meat on the stick I carry costs only fifteen coppers, either way, even if I got'scammed' or not; this is tastier than what we have.

...

Mhmm~ that was delicious, what else should I try~

...

...

Ou—perhaps 'luck' failed me—to all the possible people—how did I even crash into this 'guy'—"Nice to see you here, Hal~" still I'd say hello as he must be on patrol—don't want to be'mistaken' for—Oi! Sure, I look like 'bad news' yet you oughtn't reach for the neck easily.

...

Er... The grip is strengthening, and it's becoming harder to breathe—wouldn't it be better if I ended this?

"Calm down; it's me, Hal."—probably should, the crowds' increasing, shouldn't we just take 'this' somewhere?

Now that you've done it—my hood fell~ well, you'll likely identify me, won't you?

...

Feeling'sorry', ey? I notice you muttered something; an apology per—

"I said, who are you?"
