A Poem from Li Dai to his colleague and dear friend, Du Gu, who pondered on The Virtue of a Woman...

" Was there anything more intoxicating than a Virtuous Woman ?

How even the finest wine wouldn't even match the bliss of her touch...

How should we withdraw from their lips ?

Should we compare The Heavenly Invitation with a Woman Call ?

My Friend, Where are the Virtuous Women ?

I have travelled Ten Thousand Li just to attain them

Where are the women that would die for their parents ?

Where is the so called Filial Piety ?

When her lover died, would she chaste herself and become a Widow?

A good disciple would die for their master, good people would die for their benefactors

That is Heaven's Rule...

I was lost, strayed in the middle of lust and passion

Where should I go ?

Who should I call ?

Ohh.. Love, why is it so tormenting...

How could Huo Yi stay sane

How could The Cowherd wait

1 year felt like 10 years without them, 1 Bu felt like 10 Li without them...

Virtuous Woman, How else would I describe you?

How strong is your love? How tough is your will?

Would you protect and embrace the Man that you loved ?

How much do you value a vow ?

Should The Heaven and Earth put you on trial should you lied ?

Ohh, My Friend, why are we scared ?

There is always footsteps in the desert

Ten-Thousand years old iron tree will bloom

As we are but a passer-by at the Inn of life

Friends and Lovers would surely meet...

But My Friends

Even The Sun, must set eventually.... "
