chapter 4 A normal day part 1

Lying in the white room, Marco was playing with a small marble, barely the size of the tip of his thumb, this was the physical representation of the [Double Will] ability.

"The Vernas tablet clearly explains what this ability does. if I want I can give it another shape, if I want I can let it take possession of my body by just giving a command. I can set it to focus on a task and remove all the weaknesses that an ordinary mind possesses. I can force it to go beyond human limits, where I cannot due to pain and fear. I can also have it study techniques within the soul room while I live naturally."

While the thoughts flowed, the marble kept spinning in circles in Marco's palm. The strangest thing is that Marco didn't even move his arm, his arm remained static while he was spinning. Abruptly the little ball stopped and rose from his hand, being in the air, it began to move up and down. Changing patterns and making figures of eight, squares, triangles, various trigonometric shapes, as if someone manipulated it with their hands, but there was no one touching it. It was Marco moving it with the power of his mind.

The small marble stopped completely and fell back into the young man's hand, then right in front of his eyes, it sank into his flesh. As if his hand was made of liquid, ripples formed on the surface of its limb, stopping right at the wrist. As long as the object was within his spiritual body, he could use the spiritual connection he shared with the little ball within his soul, and switch places with the [Double Will].

Every time he did this, the will simply copied his personality and memories through the connection they shared, in practice there was no difference between one and the other. It was a peculiar sensation, just like before, during his days where he disassociated himself from his body. During these moments he became a spectator, but this time he was in full control of the body.

The most curious thing was that while the double will did not interact with anyone, it would not have any particular thoughts like normal humans. It could formulate answers if asked a question, it would immediately respond with a behavior that perfectly matched that of Reinhall in his every day life. But he knew that there were no thoughts behind those activities, it simply carried out the actions that Marco ordered mechanically, like a program written by a programmer, almost like a robot .

However, the biggest use Marco found for it, was to have it take his place while he searched for books within the soul room with the Vernas tablet. Since the day that the subjugation was successfully completed, his bodily assimilation finally became total. He instinctively knew that he no longer faced the dangers of a spiritual segregation death, and with the help of the marble or rather soul pearl, he was capable of immersing himself within his spiritual realm without the need to sleep. Thanks to this the hours he could spend searching for texts that had information about the skills he needed in the future lengthened.

Book after book, search after search, Marco pored over the texts that appeared before him on the Vernas tablet.

-Vernas, search by congregated terms, Perfect memory manual

Results that vaguely matched his search were quickly displayed. The vast majority of which were psychological studies delving into the topics of “how memory was housed in the brain” or about people experiencing the phenomenon of perfect memory from birth. Although at first this type of study seemed like a good opportunity to learn how to obtain the ability, after carefully reading several of these books and writings that appeared in his search, he quickly realized that many of them had no purpose beyond science within the fields of psychology and neurology.

Unfortunately for Marco, the countless searches he performed only returned these types of results. But this did not surprise him, during his search for the [Double Will] these types of results were common. During countless nights where his limit was marked at one hour, this used to be a major source of fatigue. However unlike Perfect Memory, the scientific results for dual will provided clues as to how it arose in normal individuals suffering from dual personalities, such as the hint that it was necessary to suffer from intense emotional stress for long periods of time.

Mark selected one of the books at random and immediately went to the list of bibliographic references, this section that always caused him problems during his student days when doing his thesis; they always reproached him for missing more bibliographical references to his writings. To the point that his work was rejected twice due to lack of references. This section that gave him so many headaches during those fleeting days, became his most important ally during his search for potential sources of information.

His eyes scanned the titles and institutions from which they were published, as well as the authors of these references. Usually, writers would put their titles and important studies next to their names to give these studies more prestige, but to Mark it became a way of verifying quickly which came from scientific sources and which came from magical sources.

-Again nothing… is it that perhaps the world where Vernas came from, didn't look for anything about how to improve memory!?

-Vernas, apply search filter, Magic.

[Applying filter]

[No results found matching the selected filter]

The male mechanized voice resounded from the tablet in his hands, this was a very common result during his quest for improving his memory ability. It was more troublesome than during his [Double Will] research, where he had the opposite result, where even after applying various filters it still left him with hundreds of books to judge and review.

Stolen novel; please report.

- *sigh* Stop fucking with me!!! It's been two weeks since I started looking and still nothing!

Marco placed his hands on the sides of his head and began to reflect on what he was doing wrong.

-What if I look first in magic books and from there I jump to all the magical institutions of his world? No, that's too much, in the first place that planet has thousands of years of magical research...

aaahhhh, there's no other way, I'll leave it for another day, this is wearing me out spiritually.

-How the hell are magicians supposed to memorize so much magic!? I can't imagine having to memorize such complex patterns with sheer effort and repetition.

-Should I try to contact her? After all it's her fucking duty to help me get stronger. I wonder if she's doing it on purpose, letting me search for books on my own that I probably won't find.

- But for what reason? Generate dependency? It makes sense. After all a normal person would be looking for ways to contact her and ask for her help. Build trust? It wouldn't be strange considering that the average person tends to take the easiest routes, after all, most people tend to show almost blind trust to those who help them in times of need.

-And considering that the methods I used to locate the first of my abilities, were rather obtuse and obscure in a way in the first place. Very few people would have discovered the necessary texts to learn the ritual. They would have given up and probably looked up her name and used her ball to pray to her. After all, it took me about a month and a half to find and learn the necessary methods for double will.

“He doesn't, I'm going to wait six months, if in six months I don't have any progress with what I'm doing I'll swallow my pride and ask him for help. Anyway I think it's time to exercise, if I do it myself it may take away this mental fatigue that has been accumulating."

Marco closed his eyes and immediately pulled the connection with the double will to exchange places, the other part of Marco quickly diving back into the center of his being in the form of a small pearl.

“Well now, what should I do? I said I want to train but I don't feel like it, maybe I should practice my vocal skills. I should go with Nira then, lately my understanding of language is getting much better”

-Reinhall! Reinhall! Where are you? Reinhall!

A sound of hurried footsteps resounds down the stairs of the house, it was Nira. She quickly went up to the second floor and searches the rooms, in less than 10 seconds she finds Reinhall in one of the extra rooms they have for guests.

-Reinhall, I already told you not to get out of Mommy's sight, didn't I? Besides, I already told you not to go upstairs without me, this is the fifth time this month… don't look away as if you haven't done anything wrong, no no! Now come, let's go downstairs, it's already two o'clock and mommy has a meeting with the Yeval family, you're going to accompany me, so I need to dress you up to show them that my baby is the most beautiful thing in town.

"Again, it didn't even take her 5 minutes to realize, I thought she was going to spend more time outside... since that incident she won't leave me, she is always worried about where I am"

Reinhall discovered after the incident, that the arm injuries he had sustained had been more severe than he thought. He had whipped his arm so hard that he spent a whole week with his arm inflated like a sausage. The entire situation from the door blocked, the hurt arm, that he was out of his crib, all this caused a tremendous shock in the poor mother of Reinhall, Nira. So that for the two weeks following the incident, she carried Reinhall everywhere and never let him get more than 3 meters away from her, always in a place where she could see him.

Nira extended her hands to Reinhall, familiar with her gesture, he raised his hands to be lifted and carried by his mother.

-Well Reinhall, what clothes do you want to wear? the red one or the yellow one?

After sitting him on the bed in the room where they normally slept, she Nira showed him two pairs of clothes, one light yellow with white stripes, and one red with dark colored dots. Reinhall naturally pointed to the red suit.

-Very good Reinhall! You are so intelligent, you will see that you will surprise them. I can't wait to see their faces when they see that you already know how to say mom and dad.

“It is not unusual to leave home, but it is the first time that we are going to visit another family. The Yeval eh… Who were the Yeval? I don't even remember"

-But what outfit should I wear? Maybe I'll wear my yellow dress to contrast with you so you'll stand out more when I carry you!

Every time Nira spoke, Reinhall was very attentive to the pronunciation of each word and how it was used compared to words he already knew. Thanks to the fact that his mother Nira, was a person with a very cheerful personality, she was always talking, chatting and playing with her baby. Always trying to teach him something new. For Reinhall, this was a blessing, because thanks to his always restless mother, he was able to learn a wide variety of the most commonly used words for daily life, either because he was a baby or because of his higher education and previous college level knowledge In a past life. Reinhall, with his short 5 months of starting to live in this world, was already able to understand at least a third of what his parents talked about on a daily basis.

- We're almost done, just let me put the bow on you and that's it! oh look, how beautiful you look my baby, you look charming, when we get there I'm going to rub them in how beautiful you look, they'll see that they won't be able to deny it.

Like any self-respecting mother, Nira had the almost impulsive behavior to show that the creature she gave birth to was without a doubt the most capable, intelligent and attractive of all her counterparts. And like other mothers, she used to fill him with non-existent and even invented attributes whenever she had the opportunity to introduce her baby.

"Ugh, I still can't get used to her talking to me like that, but I honestly can't complain, I can certainly say that she looks so cute and adorable when she's so happy, I can understand why my father is so crazy about her."

As a person who grew up and lived at least 30 years in his previous life, he was able to judge with an forein eye the appearances of his parents. Inside his mind if he could put them on a scale of 1 to 10 his mother would be a 9 and his father an 8 and a half, after classifying them under his own standards, it was not uncommon to understand why his mother showered him with compliments endlessly. He would definitely grow up to be an attractive and shiny person.

-Well Reinhall, we're leaving, I'd love to make you more handsome but it's not possible, besides if we're late we'll surely be late.
