Chapter III: A Detailed Description Of Krodoa And Some New Abilities

(Not MC narrating.)

Long ago, Krodoa was formed. 2 supercontinents were formed, taking up 60 percent of the planet's surface. It's names were Gaia and Hudra.

Gaia was formed around 4 milleniums ago. It housed the would be known continents of Osno, Woth, Klolla, and Fahndra, where our main protagonist is currently living.

The story between the 2 supercontinents dates back to around 3 decades, when the 2 of them were still one supercontinent. 2 races, the humans and various other races, including elves and beastkin, and many other intelligent species of life, fought an incredible war that lasted for an incredibly long time. Some people say that the war was only a year long. Others could exaggerate, and say it was 100 years instead. But really it was not.

As the human forces and the allied non human forces were closing in on the middle of the continent, No Man's Land, where the battle would take place, the world started rumbling. And soon enough, the whole supercontinent was divided into two, separating the humans, and the non-humans.

It is believed that the reason the continent split apart, was due to the God's wrath, not being able to stand the endless quarrels of the races, they divided the former supercontinent into two smaller ones, which would come to be known as Gaia, and Hudra.

Particular various forms of conflict still appear to this day. Many types of races are still sold in black market auctions, sometimee as slaves, with most of them being elves.

Elves, known for their long lives, pointed ears, and beauty, were a certainly popular form of slaves. They were also very adept at music, as they received love from the Spirits, which live on Yggdrasil, the World Tree, located in the center of Hudra.

While Gaia, where the humans live, has gone massive changes. People have invented machines to make life easier. On the other hand, Hudra, hasn't changed much. And that's probably a good thing. It's inhabitants have managed to preserve it's images as lovers of nature, and this is where it truly looks like a fantasy world, but of course, Michael doesn't know that yet. In his perspective, he lives in a Sci-Fi world.

Now it has been a fortnight since then, and Michael has been quickly going through it all. Born a cripple, it wasn't necessary for him to try to move around like a normal baby. Mother often takes him around by herself. The ample time he has when he is left alone at his room, he uses it to practice magic, or something similar to it. The first time he encountered something out of the ordinary was when he got a slight headache, as soon as he tried practicing. Training was almost always accompanied with light or heavy sweating, and some minor chest pains. Never a headache.

Michael soon brushed it off as a side effect of training, but as he thought, it was a recurring headache. Worrying that it might get worse, he decided to stop practicing for a bit.

In the afternoon of a certain day. (Michael's POV)

"Psst."

"?"

What was that? Someone whisper?

...

Must've been the TV.

"Psstttt!"

Ok, who's doing that? Can't a baby just get some sleep? I'm trying to rest here!

"Oh for fuck's sake get up you idiot."

Hey!? Who said that? I'll have you know I'm pretty smart.

"It's me."

Uh, yeah, Hi? Could you get out of my consciousness? I'll be nice Mr. Ghost. Let this baby sleep.

"You say that, but, I don't recall babies being able to form complete sentences without even being 3 months old. Yeah right, you're not fooling anybody. Michael get up man."

Shouldn't you introduce yourself first?

"Oh. Yeah. I'm Jandru, the God of the Mind."

God of what now? Does that make you able to do quick maths?

"I... just- yes."

Nice.

"Enough of that. I need some help."

Why bother asking a baby for help? Especially a crippled one, too.

"I... well, I can't connect to anyone else in the radius. You have no talent for any other magic besides Mental ones."

Oh neat. Can I make someone confused? Stunned? Lose their memories?

"Ah. Well soon enough. Enough of that though, we have to start. I only have 18 years left."

Wait. Hold on. What happens in 18 years?

"The False Gods will incite their followers to cause Doomsday."

Alright. Uh huh. Still got 18 years. Let's go back to sleep.

"No wait! We really don't have time! We have to start now."

Gah. Fine. What are we supposed to do?

"Gather the various disciples of the former True Gods. With their help, kill the disciples of the False Gods. The True Gods were the, of course, original gods of this world. Overthrown by aliens who came from outside this world, and proclaimed themselves as the replacements to those gods. I know where the God of Light's disciple resides. Actually, she's pretty close to you right now. She's living in the same house, to the room near yours."

You mean Lena? Unless you're talking about mom. Both of their rooms are near mine.

"Uh, the blonde one."

I see. Maybe I'll talk to her the next time she picks me up. Oh fuck me. I can't speak yet. Curse this infantile body!

"Yup. We'll talk to her as soon as you can speak. For now let's practice your mental magic. Try focusing your brain..."

Multiple days passed.

Whilst training, I had achieved the ability to momentarily haywire the frontal lobe of the brain, and allow me to disrupt someone's thinking for a bit.

I mean, I personally never tried it out, since I don't have anyone to practice it on. I only practiced until Jandru told me about it.

I was now near the age of being able to talk, and could pass off saying a few words as mere intellect. I should say Mommy first, it'd make her happy. She's taken care of me since I was born.

And just as soon as I finished my internal monologue, the door to my room opens and the figure of my mom comes in.

I reach out my arms to her, and she picks me up.

"Maaa.... mo..my?"

"Oh my?! George come quick! Kenneth's speaking. You're so smart!!"

She says that as she continously pats me.

My dad comes in, and mom explains to her about what I did, and he exclaims happily.

"That's my son! You're already so smart!"

"Gaua?"

"Yes you're so smart. Let's hold a feast today!"

He hands me back to my mom, and she carries me towards the dining room.

Many months later.

I'm finally old enough to speak in full sentences. I also learned a ability similar to my old one, Confusion, now I could disrupt someone's control over their emotions, allowing me to maybe, enrage someone, to name a few. I named this one Enrage, since triggering other emotions was a bit harder. Of course, this also affects certain types of people who can't control themselves more easily. Another ability I learned, was more of a passive one. Allowing control over my Temporal Lobe, I forced myself to be able to understand this world's language easier.

(I know that's probably not how Anatomy works, I just took a few seconds to search it in google.)

This world was apparently called Krodoa, a world that had 2 supercontinents. I was living in Gaia, the one mostly populated by humans, and thr one that has advanced the most of the two. The other one, Hudra, is more diverse, as it has all those races from fantasy games, elves, beastmen, dwarves, to name a few. The World Tree is located in the center of Hudra, sprouting eternally.

Enough of that though, now that I'm at the age of being able to speak properly, I decided to call Lena, and talk to her about Jandru.

One of the features of the screen that I had next to me was to call one of my family members if I ever needed to do something. I did have a wheelchair, but I could still be carried around, as I was still pretty short.

There were different options. 1 for each of the family. I called Lena and asked her to come to my room.

After a few minutes, the door opened and I saw Lena, dressed in her pyjamas. It was pretty late in the night, so she was probably about to go to sleep.

"Big sis? Come here."

"What's up little bro? Need something from your sis?"

"Help me out here. Jandru says your the God Of Light's disciple. I need some help."

"Wh.. who told you that!?"

"Jandru the self-proclaimed God of the Mind."

Help me out here Jandru, how do I make this believable?

"Say her name. It's Illia."

"Uh. Okay. Big sis Lena. Her name is Illia!"

"My little brother's an apostle too? That makes as buddies!" She exclaimed as she ran over to me and picked me up.

"I wouldn't say apostle... but okay."

"Tell her everything I told you." (Jandru)

And so I did.

"That sounds plausible. Illia told me the same thing. Little brother is still too young for this though, I can't have you killing people when you're so young."

"Oh, I agree. And plus, I'm a cripple. I'll just be helping you using my Mental magic."

"Ooohhh, Mental Magic! How's that gonna help me though, if you're going to be far away from the battle?"

"No worries. I have an ability that places a part of my consciousness inside your brain, allowing me to use my abilities from any range, as long as you're still alive."

"Now that I think about it, we have to kill people, right? I'm not a big fan of that."

Uh yeah, me too. Jandru, is there any way for us to not kill them but still get the job done?

Actually there is. Try to subdue them. Knock them out, make them sleep, whatever goes, make sure you don't kill them.

"Ask Lena to direct some of her mana flow to her hand, and with it, pierce through the placr where the heart should be. Don't worry, the person won't die. Her hand will ignore the body and instead come into contact with the core of the heart. Dig deep, and rip it out. Something light blue will come out, and you guessed it, it's shaped like a heart."

Okay, but why the heart?

"The heart is known for pumping blood throughout the body. Living beings are known to have an intangible blue heart, the mana core, which, instead of pumping blood, pumps mana. Know the process of how blood comes and goes into the heart and around the body? It's similar to the circulatory system. It's intangible because the body itself doesn't have any mana. The lungs take in mana from the oxygen in the air, brings it to the heart yada-yada, you get what I mean."

I see, I see. I explain this process to Lena, and she sighs in relief.

"That's good. I was worried I'd be labeled a mass murderer."

The closest disciple near you, is the disciple of the False God of the Wind. It's located in the campus of the Fahndra Royal Academy.

"This is bad. Fahndra Royal Academy only allows nobles to enroll." (Michael)

Despite Fahndra's futuristic tech, it has long always been upholded as an aristocracy since it was founded by Julis Fahndra, the man known to have the highest kill count during the battle between the humans and nonhumans.

Our first mission seems to have taken a terrible start. Fahndra Royal Academy only allows high ranking nobles, with the minimum rank of the family required to at least be Baron.

Our family weren't nobles, but we still had enough assets to live as normal people.

There really was only one way to attend the academy. It was to achieve various merits and be rewarded a noble title through the royal family themselves.

Let's formulate a plan.
