Chapter 1

In 2077, the end of the world, unfortunately, I  became the last survivor on Earth.

Ten years of fierce fighting had made me lose my desire to live, and finally, I hid in a small-town museum and ate the last of the canned food.

When I decided to end my life on a sunny day, an alien ship landed in front of me. Seven alien beings stepped off the spaceship, looking like jellyfish but with helmets, wearing spacesuits, and speaking the language I was familiar with.

"Hello, we are the Cosmic Rescue Organization, ten years ago we observed that your civilization was going to die out, and according to the 《Universal Solidarity Treaty》, we are now coming to offer rescue."

I had been through too many dangers and vicious battles, and a heart was hardened to be incredibly strong, so even after seeing the aliens with my own eyes, I didn't show much surprise.

"You really should have come ten years earlier, but thank you at all, ten years of interstellar travel must have been lonely."

"That's not true, our light speed ship takes only seven minutes to get from the space base to your planet,Damn it, all those ten years were spent on approval procedures, It took us 4000 approvals to get this crappy ship out of the spaceport."

I’m speechless.

Jellyfish man, "Anyway, after scanning, you are now the only human on the surface of the planet, and according to protocol, you will accept our rescue on behalf of the planet."

"So you will help me clean up the zombies on Earth, improve the environment, clean the water, and restore the vegetation?"

"That would be too much trouble, we won't do that."

"Will you guys take me back to the base?"

"Of course not." He tapped his helmet with his tentacle, "Our base is in the water."

"Then how are you going to save me?"

The jellyfish man took a card out of his spacesuit, "Keep it."

It looked like a credit card, glazed black on both sides, seemingly metallic but with a liquid touch, and ripples of light where it touched handheld. In the center of the card was a golden dot the size of a pencil cross-section, not knowing what it was for.

Card suspended in the air as if not affected by gravity, I walked back to the center of the roof from the edge of the roof, carefully touched the card, and indeed do not feel any weight.

The jellyfish held up a tentacle and gestured for me to click on the dot.

I imitated it and clicked the dot in the center of the card. The black card suddenly expanded into a huge hole ten meters high and eight meters wide. The inside of the hole appeared midnight black, without a trace of light, but I instinctively realized that it was a door to the unknown.

The jellyfish people were isolated on the other side by a huge black barrier, and I could only hear their voices.

"Please take it, this is your new planet."

When I came around behind this door, the jellyfish people and the ship had disappeared, and if the doorway to the alien planet had not remained in place, I would have almost thought it was all a hallucination from my excessive hunger.

The huge black door stood on the rooftop of the small-town museum, surrounded by piles of building debris and debris, below which were boarded up doors and windows, beyond which were the wails of zombies and monsters all night long.

Where could I go but to this uncertain door?

I held my breath and stepped into the black secret world before me ...

A second later, I stepped back out.

My hair and clothes became wet, my mouth was full of salty seawater, my eyeballs almost exploded from the high pressure, and the pain created by drowning and high pressure made me fall to the ground and wail uncontrollably. Without the extraordinary physical ability and agility given to me by 10 years of doomsday survival, I might have died if I stayed behind that door for just one more second.

Took a few minutes off, I sat up from the ground with my arms supporting my body.

This wasn't some new earth, this was a death trap!

I stand up and searched the door carefully, but couldn't find a way to make it disappear. Maybe I got wrong about the aliens' offer, they probably wanted me to grab the earth's zombies and monsters one by one and throw them into this door.

I tried to wipe my eyes with my finger as my eyes get irritated by the salt water, then I find a golden spot appearing on the belly of my index finger. The gold spot was not solid like it was painted on the skin, but I was sure it was the same spot as the one on the card just now because they had the same color and size.

Since the spot was close at hand, I was sensitive to the fact that there was a hint of white reflection around the edge of the gold spot, which seemed to be some needle size characters. One can always find magnifying glasses in museums, and I ran back to the booklet reading area to find a magnifying glass and find out a logo clearly after magnifying the edge of the gold dot 30 times。

Well, I do now very much want to contact the customer service of this company, but where does the symbol point?

I tried to slide my finger on the giant door, but the moment the gold flecks touched the door, it turned back into the tiny black card. At this point I had an inspiration, I pressed my finger on the golden spot as if I were using a touch screen phone and slid it down. This time the golden spot did follow my finger to the bottom of the card and turned into a blinking state.

The card emitted a mechanical sound, "Dear Infinite Planet Customization customer, welcome to the planet management system, please follow the guide to set up your planet. First, please named your planet."

I was a little confused, "What?"

"Your planet has been named 'What', please named your civilization."

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

"Wait ..."

"Your civilization has been named 'Wait'. Your Exclusive Customer Service will be online soon, please wait."

"No, no, no, I don't want to build a 'Wait Civilization'on 'What Planet', that's not what I meant!"

After a while, a surprising voice came out of the card, "Awwww, sure enough, another 'What Planet'  'Wait Civilization', I knew things would turn out like this."

I tentatively asked, " Hi?"

" Hi, the name change fee is five million Cosmic Currency at a time."

"I don't quite understand what Cosmic Currency is."

"Simply converted to gold, one CC is equal to 10,000 tons of gold, I really don't recommend you to spend your money on this."

"Well, I want to know why it's a trap after my stargate?"

"The coordinates inside and outside the stargate are corresponding, for example, if you open the stargate at the south pole of the old planet, it will lead to the south pole of the new planet, while the coordinates where you now correspond to the bottom of the sea of the new planet, so I advise you to open the door somewhere else."

"So how far do I have to go to safely open the stargate?"

"Would you like to buy a map of your ‘What Planet’?"

"I suppose that's necessary ..."

"Dear customer, the charge is 10 million CC per 1% of the planet map opened."

Me, "Why don't you go to rob?"

Customer service frankly admitted, "Because our company makes more money than the robbers."

Me, "..."

By now it was dark, the zombies were getting more and more agitated, I had no food or water around me, running hundreds of kilometers to find a possible place to open the door under such circumstances was not an easy task, perhaps I should have stayed honestly in this museum to meet my destiny.

Customer service sensing my negative mood, suddenly lowered his voice and spoke mysteriously, "Cheer up my friend, after all, we are all from the same planet, I'll give you a little information for free, do you know why the end of the world happened?"

"Why?" After the doomsday, the survivors exhausted all means to find out the cause of the outbreak, but all failed, and I was also very curious about it.

"Disclaimer beforehand, this is all gossip, I will not testify for you in court! Ten years ago, the largest biotech company in the galaxy  'Color Scale' lost a batch of chemical trash, and an environmental organization warned that this trash might contaminate the genes of carbon-based organisms, leading to mania, bloodlust, mutation, brain necrosis, and other problems, while also producing phenomena such as self-repair, a surge in combat power, and an infinitely long life span... hmm, I heard that this junk was lost in Earth orbit."

"What!"

"Shhh! If you can find the sample of that junk as evidence, you can go to the Galactic Adjudication Court to sue the Color Scale Corporation."

"How do I contact the Galactic Adjudication Tribunal? I can't wait!"

"Take it easy, first you need to hire a good commercial lawyer, the legal fees are very expensive, enough to change your planet name a million times。"

Changing the name of a planet once needs five million CC.

Hiring a cosmic business lawyer is equal to changing a planet's name a million times.

One CC is equal to 10,000 tons of gold.

So hiring a cosmic business lawyer is equal to ... um. I'm really bad at math, but I know this money is probably more than the stars in the sky.

I made my decision, " Let's forget about it."

"Don't give up so easily," customer service cheered me up again, "Do you know the time rewind technology? It's a way to turn back the clock."

I was shocked again, "You even have this kind of technology!"

"Small means, time rewind technology can easily return the earth to ten years ago, there is only one small problem, just a little more expensive."

"As long as it can save the people on Earth, it doesn't matter how much more money it costs!"

"Let's put it this way, the cost of turning back the Earth-Moon system one second is enough to hire a million commercial lawyers."

I used my shitty math skills to speculate on the cost of turning Earth back to ten years ago and my brain almost exploded.

"I think accepting fate is also a good choice."

Customer service, "But if you can sue successfully, Color Scale has to cover the cost of your time return, the money is just a drop in the bucket from them."

I began to think seriously about his proposal, anyway, this is a chance to save my family, friends, all of humanity, I should try.

Customer service, "I'll help you find some money-making opportunities, if you're lucky enough, it won't be difficult, I got a starship by my part-time job."

By the way, I remembered he just said he was from Earth too!

"Since you are also human, how about we save Earth together?"

"You misunderstand, I'm from Earth, but I'm not human. My civilization was destroyed by an asteroid impact, Afterwards, we were sent to our current planet by the Cosmic Rescue Organization. Like you, my new planet is also called 'What planted', and this damn company built hundreds of billions of 'What Planet'! "

Asteroid impact! I suddenly understood what he is.

"Oh my God! You're a dinosaur!"

"Wow, you guys named us dinosaurs, that's much better than 'Wait'."

My brain was cluttered with this amazing news, "So you're not extinct! You can talk! You have developed a language and a culture! But our archaeologists haven't found any cities or cultural relics of you!"

"You see, everything in the universe is expensive, so we took everything useful with us, except the graves, and I hear you get a lot of fun from digging up the bones of our ancestors ..."

"Uh, I'm sorry about that."

"That's okay, I don't care at all, I hunted many of your ancestors when I was on Earth too."

"Thit's impossible!How old are you?"

"When you joined the cosmic civilization, death has become a curable disease and everyone was immortal. But even after 60 million years, I am still impressed with your ancestors, I like to catch your ancestors-"

"Stop! Don't talk about that! Even though our mammalian ancestors were a bunch of cute little squirrels back then, it still scares me quite a bit."

"Sorry, but your ancestors were really delicious."
